Hello everyone, My Name is Melissa. Let me begin with my weight history lol I'll try not to make this too long. I was an overweight child from the age of about 7 and stayed that way until I became interested in boys at about 14. I totally starved myself to stay slim and still wasn't the 105 lbs that the other girls in school were at that age. I stayed around 130-140 and that is big to the boys from my high school . So small fast forward I had my sons very young. Both of them by the time I was 20, and even though I gained 60 lbs a piece with them I lost most of it right away. I weighed 150 after having them both, not bad huh. Well this is were it all goes wrong. I guess my metabolism changed after son #2 because the weight came on and kinda rapidly too, and by the time the baby was 1 I was up to 190. I then went on a low carb eating plan and within 3 months was down to 160, it didn't last though . My son's father and I got back together and the weight plus more came back. Fastforward a couple more years when I got on the birth control shot...add 30lbs to that. To make this LONG story shorter by the time I went to my first appointment when I was pregnant with my daughter 6 years ago I weighed in at 253. I was shocked. I managed to not gain any weight while I was pregnant with her thanks to feeling ill every time I wanted to eat any thing unhealthy (thanks baby girl) For the past 5-6 years I have hoovered between 220-244. NOT GOOD . I had never attempted a low carb lifestyle again. Always blaming my weight partly on my daughtes dad who was overweight as well and didn't want to diet at all. Well just over a year ago at the young age of 28 my daughter's father passed away when his heart stopped. After grieving for a year, eating what I want to and living with the tomorrows not promised attitute I have a new thought. Tomorrow isn't promised but its more likely to come than not at 32 so I better ge healthier and get some of this weight off so I can be here for my kids and look good doing it. So last fall I quit smoking cold turkey after smoking for over half of my life and once I decided I wanted to do it I wasn't really too bothered by not smoking at all . So now I figure that if I can quit one huge addiction I can quit the carb addiction too if I think about it in the same way. I like smoking but it wasn't good for me. I like donuts but their not good for me lol. (side note the people I work with have dropped off donuts, mcdonald and cookies all in the last couple hours WTH who does that)... Im one week into my new life. I feel healthier, less bloated and grougy already but didnt loose any weight when I weighed myself this morning. I would love all advice and insiration. Im in this for the long haul

Okay so since I was on here last I lost 4.5lbs then I went on vacation and gained 2.5 back LOL oh well the crown&cokes and pina coladas were very good and I was on vacation lol. I jumped right back on the wagon as soon as it was over and I am determined to take this weight off.

Oh and I have approximately 5 months before seeing the family we went to visit so I am so looking forward to them seeing a new me when we go back

I haven't weighed myself in a few days. Im one of those ppl who like to do it pre shower, completely naked and at the same time every day (so the wet hair and clothes wont mess things up)lol...It is amazing how cutting way down on carbs makes me feel better. Just from the weekend vacation last week and the drinking pop, pina coladas, and eating a cupcake that went along with it I felt like I needed to detox...My super handsome man brought me a salad to work yesterday for lunch, I had no breakfast, and a lil bit of smoked sausage for dinner...HIGHLY MOTIVATED AND READY FOR THE NEW ME

Thank you so much verbqueen. I am so glad to get a response from someone lol. I lost my power this weekend due to a storm and with the combination of that and a touch of PMS I fell to the temptations of the oatmeal cream pies...oops...but Im back on the wagon and strong again today. I think Im gonna weigh in tomorrow morning actually (scary huh lol)...You know I dont know why I break to the craving because I feel like crap afterwards. I felt bloated and aweful thru this morning. Like I needed to detox from that food yuck. I had a salad today for lunch and feel much better already. I'll be sure to post tomorrow

So I weighed myself at 1230 last night since I had to be at work at 2am today. I weighed 230...I know I am close to starting my period and ate poorly on Sunday but dang this is where I started. I obviously am going to have to start excersing on my days off. I hope that its water weight from the time of the month it is. I really dont understand how I can undo all the good work I do for weeks in a day. Still determined and not giving up on my new life. I will twirk my diet until its right for me

OMG NOT TO BRAG BUT IM DOWN 7.5LBS YEAAHHHHHHH I felt like drinking crystal light may have been affecting my loss so I quit drinking it. Oh how I loved some lemon tea but it had to go. As soon as I began only drinking water my weight has been falling. I hear everyone's metabolism is different so Im sure crystal light if fine for alot of people but Im not one of them. Salads for now are my favorite thing ever lol...Seeing some movement on the scale was so exciting and motivating. Im loving this and ready to keep it going...I wanna need new clothes for Christmas this year

I am so happy to announce that as of Tuesday morning I have lost another pound making the grand total 8.5 gone oh yeah and to ice that off I wore a tank top on Monday that used to feel like it was totally smashing my boobs...Monday was my mans birthday and I managed to stay away from cake and icecream like a pro...Im really proud of myself right now

Ok so I weighted myself on Saturday and Sunday morning with the wonderful news that I am now down 10 pounds yes thats right 10 pounds wooowhooo...many more to go but I am so excited yea me 230/220/130

Okay so I havent been on here in awhile but I wanna toot my own horn and let everyone know Im now down to...drum rool please...207.4...yyyeeeaaaaa me...I was so excited when I lost my last three pounds. To be below 210 is an amazing thing to me and I absolutely can not wait to get into onederland ...thanks to ya'll who are supporting me with this journey

Ok so I know my posts are getting to be few and far between but progress is still good and thats what counts right as of yesterday 9/13/12 I weighed in at 201.2...oh yeah on the verge of a break thru how awesome
