I'm a little stressed out and worried this morning. An earthquake of 7.9 magnitude struck off the Philippines on Friday and a tsunami warning has been issued, I saw the breaking news of the tsunami warning and it is issued to the Hawaiian Islands also, my mother and stepfather are in Hawaii, so I am a little jittery. I am going to give her a call in an hour, they are 4 hrs behind us but she wakes up around 4am her time to start working from home.

DD is the plan today. I am out of my SF creamer so I will have to make due with half n half.

Gotta go curl DD11's hair for school pics. Be back later.

Hi Karen,

Here's hoping that your DD makes for a better day than yesterday.

Let us know about the tsumani situation and your family. We'll pray that it doesn't affect them in any way. Those warnings are very scary, I'm sure.

I hope your day is good and I'll check in with you later on!

Hugs to you---Jenna

Hi Karen,

Just checking back in to see how your day has been going! I hope that all is well with the Hawaii gang after the earthquake/tsunami scare. I thought of them today when I heard the news reports.

Take care, and I'll check in later on or tomorrow to see how you are.

Hugs, Jenna

Hi Karen,

Just checking in. Thinks have been a little upside down in my life lately. Lots of big changes ahead for me. Been stressing out eating chocolate and icecream but logging it all. But enough of that.

I see you have not been on. I do hope everything is ok with you. Please know I am thinking of you and sending you positive vibes.

I called my mom and she didn't even know about the warning until 10 min before I called. I guess they cancelled it, but I am still on edge bc strange things just happen. I guess you never really think of those sorts of things occurring when you decide to move to "paradise."

I've been a little busy this weekend. We interviewed a babysitter Friday and used her yesterday to have a date day w/DH. We rode the motorcycle to town and had a nice lunch and movie date. I must say I was really nervous, I have never left my kids in the hands of people other than my family so it was hard. But everything turned out fine and DH and I actually had a good time together. Riding the motorcycle that far was actually fun, I enjoyed the fresh air and smooth ride, my senses absorbed every bit of it and I was in a good mood afterwards.

I received a text from my sister on Friday also. She sad she was sorry and asked if we could get together to talk through all of it. I am going to town today and told her I would stop by on my way back so we can try and work it out. I'm not sure what's going to happen but I hope I can keep from falling for her tricks bc she isn't going to change overnight, but I do miss my sister and hope she takes what I have to say seriously. She's in a sad situation right now, one I am most familiar with and would like to be there for her, but I need to set boundaries so she knows what I expect and make her understand how much she has hurt myself and others by doing the things she does.

Still not on plan yet, waiting for DH's school money to come so I can make my big Coscto trip. Haven't stepped on the scale in awhile but I'm sure it's not pretty, I feel extra jiggly.

Gotta get ready for the day, I've got some errands to run in town. I'm sure I will be stopping by the thrift store too, it's become "my thing" lately.

Talk to you all later. Take care.

Hi Karen,

Great to hear about what you've been doing this weekend.

It is hard to leave our kids with a new babysitter, isn't it? I have to say that we've only done that once because we have so much family/friends nearby. It's one of the advantages of being close by to them (although there are of course disadvantages too ). I'm glad it worked out for you.

COOL that you and DH rocked the motorcyle yesterday. I have never done that before but I can imagine that it is a lot of fun. But I don't know if I would be brave enough at the same time. Maybe someday...

Good luck with your sister today. You will stick by your guns and maybe it will be more successful this time. I hope that is the case for you. It is such a difficult situation, but I have confidence that you will do what is right for you.

I'll just bet you aren't as bad as you think on the ole scale. I've been having wine and eating off plan for the past few days and the scale hasn't budged at all.

Have a great day, Karen. Take good care!

Hugs, Jenna

What a great idea of having a date day Karen. Good for you and your hubby! Hope your visit with your sister today was productive. Nice to hear that she wanted to talk to you about it and wasn't pretending it never happened. My weekly weigh in was today and I was up .5 this am. I knew I wasn't going to lose this week. Been bloated, eating icecream(lowcarb) and hardly walking enough. Need to get back in to a routine. Was out with my Mom shopping at thrift shops today and saw several pieces of furniture and thought of you. Did you decide on your desk yet?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! - Kristan

Hi Karen,

Wow! Not a date night, but a date day! Your a lucky girl.

So are you JUDDDing but just not LC JUDDDing? I hate waiting on money. My DH is a contractor we are ALWAYS waiting on money . It sucks!!!

Oh, your sister. Of course you miss your sister. You just have to lay out your "rules" and be consistant with her. If she pushes and breaks the boundries smack her with a newspaper. No don't do that! But you know what I mean . When things get comfortable don't let her play her games and start treating you bad.

Hope you have a great day off tomorrow! Check on you later

Karen,
Glad to see things weather wise for your family are ok. Also nice to read about your sister. Sounds like she knows she needs to work on herself too.

I've been real curious about JUDD lately,,, why did you start doing it? do you find calculating a little difficult? were you scared to eat more carbs? any triggers for you? sorry for all the questions,,I am intrigued by it. I know I need less calories for my weight to change. But, I want to change things up anyway.
I fear calculating numbers again as I do not want to feel like I am dieting and I am scared about potential up days being an all out binge fest.
Love to read your thoughts,,,

Been thinking of you all day Karen when I saw on the news there were fires spreading in Southern CA. Hope you and your Family/Friends are ok. I believe the news said at the time it was mostly in the mountains/camping area at this time but things could change quickly dependent on the wind. Stay safe.

Wow, I've been a slacker on here lately. I've had a pretty busy weekend, but it sure has been fun.

Meeting up with my sister was nice. We didn't necessarily discuss the issue we had, though she has apologized for it. I think she understood why I was upset and has made a doctor's appt to get her meds done and counseling referral so I am glad she is getting that taken care of. She is now in her own house with her kids and away from her disastrous ex boyfriend and seems to be trying really hard to put her life back in order, I am proud of her for stepping out on her own...I know how hard that can be. When she was expressing her feelings about the situation to me I noticed a change in her words, she exposed a lot more to me as if she were trying to be truthful and not play games. I don't know how to explain it, she's always kept things to herself or lied about it so hearing that was a step in the right direction. I think she really wants to improve things overall and knows that part of the problem starts with her. I've been in her shoes and know I didn't always make the best choices and have done my fair share of sneaky undertaking, but I learned, I tried, and I changed those behaviors and feel better because of it...so I hope she can find that for herself also.

Oh I feel ya Kristan...I have been a very bad girl with my eating for the past week. I weighed in at 148.6 this morning but am attempting to do a full clean DD today to get back on track. I have been having constant UDs all this past week and feel yucky.

@Luca: I'll try to answer these as best as I can. I started JUDDD because while I was doing LC I started reading about the benefits of Intermittent Fasting. Mark's Daily Apple has some good reads on it as well as some threads on this LCF site. I tested it out to see if I could do a 24 hr fast and made it through and kept seeing people on her talk about JUDDD so I started reading through the JUDDD threads. I don't know if I necessarily believe in calorie counting exactly, but I do believe in LC. I know the processed stuff affects me greatly and my body responds badly. This round of LCing was pretty slow and difficult for me losing weight, but I did feel great, but thought I would try the JUDDD theory w/LC to see if it added to me losing. The best part is that I can now incorporate "good" carbs now and lose still. For some magical reason it works, I've read the book (not very interesting...I'd stick with the website to get the most important info. ) but if you google Johnsons Up Day Down Day it'll bring you to the site and you can calculate your cals for UD and DD on there. I tend to go onto a binge when I eat the "bad" carbs, processed items, if I stick to nuts, yogurt, fruits, etc. I seem to do okay and not crave the other things. Hope all that makes sense. If you have any more questions feel free to ask any time.

I did hear about some big fire going on but I don't think it's close by bc I haven't seen anything. Thanks for thinking of me.

That sucks Pam, family drama sucks. Sometimes we just have to separate ourselves from it to keep sane.

So, yesterday I wasn't able to get on here bc DH and I took another motorcycle ride with some of his buddies (a group of about 10-12 people ), it was really fun and my butt is really sore today. I never imagined I'd love it so much, it's just relaxing and a new way to view things when traveling. We rode to Hermosa Beach, which is about 2 hrs from where we live, ate lunch at a nice little joint there and rode back. Nice quality time with the hubs, I'm starting to like this. We used a different babysitter this time and saved $20 doing so, she said she would have done it for less. A 17 year old daughter of my husband's co worker, I think I liked her even better than the other girl. The kids loved her so I'm hoping to use her from now on.

Not up to much today, trying to recovering from exhaustion yesterday and my long UD indulgence (DD today...finally). I need to get back on track, I feel disgusting and out of control. I see a nap in my future this afternoon, went to bed WAY too late last night and woke up early this morning. Nothing else going on, that's a good thing since I have been so busy all weekend.

Hope everyone is well and having a great day. I'll try and check back later tonight if my kids aren't keeping me busy.

Hi Karen,

I was so glad to hear that things went well with your sister. Sounds as if some real progress was made. It seems that she knows that she needs to get help.

I understand what you are saying about the junky eating. I too feel crappy and out of control in that area this past weekend. I need to get back on top of things. My scale has been steady, but I am not losing.

Your motorcycle time sounds fun! That's wonderful that you can have that great quality time with DH. With all that you have going on, you deserve it. Nothing better than good times with DH, right?

Here's hoping that you are recovering well from the business of the weekend.

I'll check in with ya later!

Hugs, Jenna

Oh....I have had the idea of getting my own bike but I like the feeling of being DH's biker chick companion even more...it's a nice closeness that I've missed...this bike is definitely winning some brownie points from me now, this is just what we needed.

So, I made it through my DD. Already feeling a whole lot better.

Food is basically the "usual" DD food I have posted previously so I won't bore you all with that. But my totals for the day were: 340 Cals & 29g Carbs. Now the true test will come tomorrow to see if I can track my food and maintain a "good" UD. Otherwise I know for a fact that I will slip into Bingeville again. I'm going to tinker with the food before bed tonight so I am prepared. I feel like having some eggs in the morning.

All ready for bed soon. My goal is to make it there by 10pm, I didn't have a great nap today...think I actually made it worse. So tonight I plan to catch up and get some good sleep in.

Night girls.

Been lazy this morning. I'm stressing myself out looking for the "right" dressers to get for my girls since I sold their old ones to remodel. I need to take a chill pill, well actually....I need to get my bum up and get some house cleaning done.

So far I have eaten well on today's UD, tracked it too. I am fighting cravings, hopefully I can hold out. I'll post the official foods and counts later in the night.

I forgot to post a pic of our ride the other day. You all can tell I simply had a great time bc I can't stop talking about it.
DSCN3230.jpgDSCN3231.jpgDSCN3238.jpg

Okay, that's all I have for now. Have a list of things I planned to get done so I will attempt that now. The weather is cloudy and possibly stormy later so that doesn't help...I need some sunshine.

Hi Karen,

No wonder you are tired today, girl. You always have a lot going on in your life. I wonder why you aren't MORE tired!

Cute bike pics. You just keep on talking about that wonderful time together with your hubby. It's great that you have that to share and it brings you together. My DH and I have our own special activity that does the same thing for us---it's called EATING.

Hope you had a successful UD. I am having a hard time with the cravings too. I have had ice cream every day for the past 4 days; today I am trying to go without and it is HARD. Good luck!

Have a great night, Karen. I'll check back with ya later on and see how your day went.

Hugs, Jenna

Hi Karen,

I like the pictures. Your a brave girl letting go to take the photos over his head. I would be holding on for dear life

Good job on your UD!I know you can keep it up. I hope you got some of the things on your list done. We got thunder and lightning up here on the coast. I remember when we lived in MN. My DH's family would laugh at me because I would freek at that kind of weather! It's scary .

Have a great night. I'll "see" you tomorrow

Cute Karen

It's been overcast and stormy here for about 5 days now. Not that I mind the rain, but when it's like 95* and humid, yuck.........

The trees are starting to drop their leaves Love all the color that will be coming soon. It's so pretty. The cooler weather makes me want to get out and go on walks too. The dogs love that. Need new shoes for some longer walks, but the everings are so nice for a short walk around the neighborhood.

Off for warm up some wings for breakfast. Have a great day.

Hello ladies.

@Kristan: DH made me buy a jacket bc he didn't like me being unprotected... I fought it for a bit but decided he was right in the end. I actually think I got a good deal, bought the jacket, helmet and a pair of gloves for $200. I was happy with that. I already had the boots, they are Harley ones that my mom gave me...I refuse to buy new ones until these are completely used up.

@Jenna: I wonder how I even get through the days sometimes with what I schedule myself to do. My brain and body just don't do well when I am in lazy mode...I feel guilty when I do that.

@Tanya: I sure what scared, but we were going down residential areas and not very fast so I felt more brave. DH grabbed my arm after awhile bc I freaked him out....oops. I LOVE thunder and lightning, but HATE when tornadoes are involved. MN weather always freaked me out too, tornadoes are just so unpredictable so it makes me nervous. The most we got here were sprinkling here and there.

@Pam: I'm not fond of humidity either, that's why I like the west coast (usually). Wings sound delicious, hope they were yummy! Fall is my fave season.

You girls want the bad news or the good news? Well, I don't really have good news. I was okay for most of the day, then I got lost in some cleaning and missed lunch and became terribly starved to the point that I just grabbed the first thing convenient (leftover pizza )...that spiraled into my binge for the rest of the night. I am SO tired of waiting on DH's school money...I NEED that to get groceries so I have better things to eat in this house. When I go shopping I am not going to stock up on the nasty goodies either, not even for my kids to have. It's not healthy for them to eat either so why do I buy it!?!

I didn't get a whole lot accomplished yesterday. Spent most of the day on this stupid computer doing who knows what. Then I watched my show (Heroes) on Netflix until 2am and woke up at 6am so now I am completely exhausted today. I need to pull myself together, this crap isn't going to fly much longer. My tummy is SO mad at me today. Brace yourselves...it was SO bad last night that I ate an entire tub of ice cream....who does that!?! At least I'm on DD today and sticking to it so far. I have a salad waiting for me for dinner, not sure about lunch yet.

Anywho, I have to go get some laundry done and deep clean the bathroom showers (all 3 of them) and take care of some more things. I'm turning this comp off until I am finished with my duties so I don't have a repeat of yesterday.

Have a good day everyone.

Your welcome Karen.I almost finished of the other half tonight but I ran out of sugar free chocolate sauce.

Just wanted to let you know you are not alone in your pursuit to a more healthier lifestyle. I am learning it isn't all about what size you are or how much you weigh, it is more about your body, mind and soul connecting. My hopes are if I can work on all three of these at the same time eventually I will feel more confident, be more fit and live a healthier lifestyle as it is ingrained in me and not fumbling like I am now. Starting and restarting and such etc...
I just would like to get organized in all aspects of my life. I think that would help alot with my anxiety. I continue to remind myself progress not perfection.
Remember that for yourself too.

Since I'm out of chocolate sauce I'm going to try and not buy icecream for a week.

Have a nice night!

-Kristan

Gonna wrap up my day bc I have to get to bed early tonight. I have 2 appts in the morning and some people to meet with from the yardsale pages...going to be busy.

I LOVE DD. I just feel more in control and less stressed and tempted. Came in at 425 Cals & 23g Carbs.

I managed to wash my laundry but probably not going to hang it up or put away until tomorrow. I did get all the bathrooms done. I deep clean them the first week of the month and boy did they need it. Watched some of my show today too....had a good mix of being productive without being overly worked.

Considering I only got about 4 hrs of sleep last night I wasn't feeling tired at all today. Usually I can barely keep my eyes open, I do notice that LC allows me to get by on less sleep...plus, I had a good amount of caffeine in me today.

No ice cream tonight, just my trusty jello cup. I secretly hope DH eats that other tub of ice cream so it's all gone.

Off to get the little ones in bed soon, then myself. Hope everyone is having a good evening.

I have bad anxiety too Kristan. Have you noticed improvement when you eat more LC? I can always feel when the carbs make my anxiety worse, and caffeine...but I consume the caffeine still.

I agree with you on the whole mind, body and soul issue. I've been learning how eating has affecting a lot of areas in my life that I can use in other ways too.

Up at it really early this morning, will be in town until later this afternoon. 145 even on the scale this morning, not worrying about it bc I felt better after DD yesterday...that is most important right now.

Have a wonderful Friday ladies!

Morning ladies

OMG!!! You all cracked me up so much Thanks needed that

Doing well so far. I have decided to go back to my Atkins/Weight Watchers WOE. Like you Karen with the JUDD/Low Carb. It works and keeps me one track.

145 is still a great weight. I am sure you will get back down to 140 soon. It will take me a bit longer.

Have a great day.
