♥ Brit's LC/Fitness Journal -- I'm getting married, Y'all!

Hi everybody! My name is Brittainy and I'm brand spanking new to the forum... New to dieting? 'Fraid not. -- I've been on this rollercoaster before and though I'm usually up for thrill rides, this isn't my favorite to say the least. I had gotten all the way down to 130 and felt great, but I've ballooned back up since. Frustrated about it? Oh man, you have no idea... but I'm not about to let that get in the way of getting some of this mess off for my wedding that's going to be taking place on November 3rd of this year. Not only that but for our honeymoon, we're taking a Disney cruise to the Caribbean! ...Yeah, exactly. I need to get this thing started pronto.

My wonderful fiance, Doug, proposed to me on Dec. 9th of 2010 in front of the castle at Walt Disney World and it was one of the greatest days of my life! I'm so stoked! I never considered myself the marrying type, especially to someone that I'd known for more than half my life.
He thinks I'm silly for thinking I'm overweight and tells me I'm beautiful every day no matter what I'm feeling when I look in the mirror, but he's extremely supportive of my decision to want to become healthy and pursue my goals in weight loss. Yep, I definitely picked a good one.

So, I first began low carb dieting through Curves' Carb-sensitive program. Basically, depending on how much weight you'd like to lose (more or less than 20 lbs.), you eat no more than 20 carbohydrates for 1-2 weeks while going to Curves Fitness for Women 3 times a week. And then after those 2 weeks are over you continue on with no more than 60 carbohydrates a day until you either plateau or meet you goal, then you go through a maintenance process.
This time I'm skipping the 2 weeks and going through with the 60-carb-a-day routine until the latter happens, it seems to work well for me.

I need to keep up with my daily water intake, workout at LEAST 60 minutes a day, eat wisely and stay motivated (that's where you guys come in!!). I'll be logging my food, water, exercise and all that good stuff on here to keep myself accountable, and so I much look forward to meeting you all and getting myself into gear!

I stepped onto the scale yesterday and I started myself at 210. Drank plenty of water and ate light.
I stepped on this morning and WOOT, I'm down to 206.5! Water retention is crazy, man... I can sometimes hold 7 pounds of the stuff and it blows my mind every time it drops off.

I've been watching past episodes on Hulu+ of The Biggest Loser and they keep going on about the Brita water filtration pitcher. Our water out of the tap tastes AWFUL, so for $12.75 I bought one from Amazon. It better work! If it does we'll be saving loads on bottled water every month, plus it's better for the environment, so yay for being green!

Welcome to You!!!

Hi Brittainy,

Just wanted to say hi and say congrats on your upcoming wedding! That is such an exciting event! I have been married ten years, and it's been great!

Good job starting your journal; I've been doing one since April 2012 and I am having a lot of fun tracking my journey with LC, as well as meeting some new friends along the way. It seems as if you are off to a great start; I like reading all of the details you give about what you eat for the day. I wish you the best of luck!

Have a great Friday night, and a super weekend! I'll check in on you from time to time! GO FOR IT!

Cheers,

Maximoon

Hey there, Maximoon.

Thank you so much for stopping in, I wasn't sure if anyone would!
10 years is quite a mile stone, so congratulations to you as well.

I've started and stopped many times before, but I think what helped me so much in the better parts of my weight loss is having a journal to hold myself accountable. I'm excited for some real results now!

Thanks again, you're welcome anytime!!
