The stepmother/daughter relationship is tricky stuff!! even 20 years later we don't like each other much. I saw/see her as a gold digging wench, and she saw me as a part of her husbands life that she wanted to make dissapear. Although it may appear that tony is rewarding her, perhaps she just needs some dad/daughter time.

I am down 10 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 in 3 days I am keeping my trap shut and doing this, honeslty I am amazed it just goes to show I was way to lax and comfortable with my eating I could probably be so much lower if I wasn't such a stupid ass! But oh no I like fruit and bread and beer, LOL Oh well so now maybe I will be under 200 before the trip and then gain it all back and do it all over what a cycle!!!

Yeah I think step daughters/ step Moms is the worst relationship, like my son has no issue with his step mom, he likes her and I am glad. Boys are so easy, last night my ex called he had tickets to the baseball all star game so he took Bobby and Autumn, she had never been to a semi-pro park they had fireworks, OMG they got home at 11:45 I was dying trying to stay awake, but that was nice, Tony and I had a little alone time!

I burned up and overcooked the London Broil, I give up on that anymore, it never gets good and I marinated it for 2 days. The green beans were good!

I go get drained today and get my little friend drained the new woman doc that joined his practice is doing it since he is away, so maybe she will fix me up for good, LOL

Congrats on the 10 lost! That is so terrific!!!! Yup, I read what you wrote and I can name that tune in NO NOTES!! It is AMAZING when one really buckles down and gets serious with oneself and puts the mind in motion!!!! (I'm down 4.4 lbs in 2 days on Dukan!)...so you just keep your nose to the LC grindstone and you will be rockin' it in time for your next vacation trip.

I so know the stepdaughter bs, had 3 of them with hubby #2, wow, it was tough. Nothing I could do to make it good. They were 19, 17 and 14, ugghhh.

Wow, 10 lbs in 3 days!? Big congrats! I'm going to really try to catch up here!

My stepdaughter lived with us from age 7 to age 12, then on/off until about age 16-ish. It was not easy, back then. Hold onto your sanity and go get yourself a copy of The Enlightened Stepmother. Seriously-- go buy the book, or at least borrow it from the library. I swear, it will be old and dog-earred by the time she's grown. It's like a bible for stepmoms! My old copy is with one of my best friends who re-married, and it's being put to good use all over again the past couple of years!

Life gets really comfy, and the months just tick away. Eating is still fun you want what everyone else is eating, drinks here and there and boy did this slap me in the head that what got me to 350 pounds is still there, I cant exercise it away, the flab going didnt help, it will always be there, so I gotta get some of this off and get to a good number and then maintain from there. I go to the endo on 7/26 and I am doing that cortisol test and a bunch of hormone tests so I am still hopeful that she will say take this and be normal, even though I know that is not happening! LOL

So I got drained by the new woman doc I really like her, she is nice, she is like wow your stomach looks so good, I think I need this, LOL So I had a bunch of VS coupons I went and you got a PINK dog if you bought something, so Autumn loves animals, so I got a lime green one, of course the ****** doesnt even say thank you! Ughg that is the stuff that infuriates me, then she is sitting there bossing me and I want to slap her, LOL But I am sending them to the pool and I need to study this really sucks the weather is so nice and I end up sitting inside on the computer doing this stupid tests! But I shopped so I feel better, LOL I gotta hide everything before Tony comes, he said to me in Myrtle Beach, is that new, I said oh no not really, he said new like since you had it shoved under the bed thinking I wouldn't know, busted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Darn it!

I got my eyebrows threaded again, I like the way she shapes them, sometimes going to get them waxed at different places they mess up the shape so she did them really nice!

OK must get to work by 1:00 or I wont get my stuff done!!!

I've always wanted to try the threading!

There are a LOT of books on stepparenting, blended families, dealing with exes, dealing with step-in-laws, etc. I think I read them all, back in the late 90's. I was community leader on two related boards on iVillage for years. My degree was in child development, and my thesis was children of divorce. Graduated with honors. Was a teacher and all kids loved me (except one certain sullen, pouty stepdaughter... sigh). And you know what? It still mostly sucked! Just keep reminding yourself that this, too, WILL pass! It resurfaces with milestone and special occassion type things through the years, but her and I have both evolved nicely, since then, and that makes it better. That book was the best thing I found to help me at all. It's all in perspective, sometimes.

When do you think you will be fully healed and be able to stop getting drained? Its been a long long time now! Its great the new woman is nice .

Threaded huh, I've never tried that but there is a new girl at the salon here that says she does threading and waxing. I hate letting anyone touch my eyebrows cos they screw em up every damn time. I have.. difficult eyebrows that have kinda bald spots in there so if you do it wrong... you gotta take out a lot more hair to cover the whoops. I just do it myself now.

Tig- the doctors dont know how long this will go on, they are hopeful it will resolve but it could still take 8-12 months, ughghg, she said they really hate to cut in againa nd open the risk of infection, etc, so draining is still better she says, it is over 5 months now, still a long way to go til I feel normal. I really was not prepared at all for this surgery, but I am so glad I did it, it is a double edge sword, so I gotta keep dealing for now, but I try to focus on this is for life, so deal with it.

I guess I am frustrated cause I thought we were making progress like the first 2 weeks of summer she was sooo good and I was feeling so much closer to her now I feel like it was last year the wall between us. Maybe Tony will talk some sense into her tonight. I know I contribute cause I want to smack her across the room, with her snippy attitude, LOL

The kids go to the ex's Sat, so we are alone then, but I will be missing Bobby. He looks so handsome he has color for like the first time ever, he has a weird white patch on his cheek, I made him a doctors appt for Monday, I have no clue what it is, but it is a circle the size of a half dollar and very white and flakey like? I have been putting coconut oil on but nothing is happening.

I was .6 not going to freak, and just keep keeping my trap shut!!!! Bobby fell in love with sea scallops, they are sort of expensive but I am getting him some for dinner I have to make them like Gordon on Hell's Kitchen, LOL I always get freaked with scallops,I love when they get that caramel color but not too far gone that they are rubber.

Yup, on the scallops: sautee in real butter, medium-high heat, use a meat thermometer and shoot for 145. I usually let them go for 7+ min a side, and turn one over to check for that yummy carmelized color...YUMMO! I usually get us 8 of 'em to cook up as an appetizer for hubby and me because of the $$$.

I know I was watching Gordo uses 1/2 veg oil and 1/2 butter, I was leery of veg oil?? The one seafood market has them on sale so I thought I would splurge for my baby, LOL Wishe me luck, we had the best scallops on vacation but you get 4 they just want you to earn for more.

Well, I've heard 1/2 olive oil and 1/2 butter is a good combo too to help prevent the butter from burning...bon appetit!

MMMmm! Scallops are one of my favorites, and my son can put away some serious scallops (any seafood, really). I always have to cook them en masse! I'm the same way about cooking them. I hate undercooked or overcooked ones. My husband got them PERFECT on the grill, but just once. I do all stove-top cooking with them, or bake them in the oven wrapped in bacon. I need to learn how to use the grill better, I guess.

OMG LOVE scallops! I never make them for myself because of the expense and Denny hates all things shell fish. I keep a bag of shrimp frozen in the freezer for treats for myself, but that's as far as I stretch it.

OMG Autumn is like 10 years from periods as little and skinny as she is she will be 90 when she finally gets her period!! LOL She is barely 60 pounds so still immature in that area, man my temper is up today with her, so now they are at the pool, and I must study, I need booze and cant have it, LOL

she is 11 going on 12 but looks like a 6 year old body wise thank God!! Robert is the same 11 and he looks 15 or 16, so different1 Lets hold each other to keep from hitting the vodka, and the beer and the gin, LOL
