Bad scale, BAD! NO NO! (sternly shaking finger at scale)

It's official: MY NEW SCALE SUCKS!

I should have read the reviews. The weight bounces all over the place and does not seem at all reliable. It says to "tap" to set to zero and you practically have to kick the darn thing to get it to turn on.

I think that I'm just going to take a gamble on my old one and get a new battery for it and hope it works. That's probably all it is any way. I just really wanted a new nice looking one. Yeah, kind of shallow, I know. My old one is just so, well, OLD looking!

Just for the record though it said 265.9 this morning. I hope it's wrong! I really, really, really, really, really want to break into the 240's by the end of June. I have not been that "skinny" since right after my son was born. I actually only gained a total of 5 pounds with that pregnancy. I weighed 247 right after I gave birth and then promptly gained 20 pounds in the next month or two. I swear you can gain so much weight nursing! Some people lose, I gain !

Oh well. My babies are worth the weight. They are also worth me losing it to be able to be be a good example to them and be able to keep up with them !

Oops! Its the end of the day and I still need to get my accountability groove on!

I ate (well, am eating at the moment. ) :

Breakfast: coffee with cream (shocking, I know!)

Lunch: scarfed the rest of the leftover charcoaled asian short ribs

Dinner: 2 carb vanilla protein shake (my tummy was not feeling good after taking some fiber pills earier. Serving size 6 pills my rear end! )

Snack: currently eating 2.1 oz of smoked almonds (2 net carbs per oz )and 2.8 oz of pepper jack cheese. I don't know if I'll finish it all, but I probably will

Still don't know my weight. I'm taking Kristina to a birthday party tomorrow. Maybe I will get a new one while I'm out. Does anybody have an opinion on their scale and brand?

Don't skip dinner though...
I though of you when I wanted to skip dinner tonight! So I made myself drink a protein shake.

Ugh, so sorry about your scale!!! That stinks. I like my scale but I don't remember the brand. I will check tomorrow and let you know. Its pretty good with numbers and doesn't jump around much. I got it at walmart.

The biggest bummer about not having a scale is that today is my one month anniversary of being on Atkins!!!!!!

Well, happy anniversary to me anyway. May it be a long lasting relationship till death do us part

Thanks guys!

I had the new scale all repackaged up to go but I just could not help myself. I'm still going to return it. But I just HAD to weigh myself on something! So I unpackaged it and weighed myself

I'll just figure on the lowest weight it said of all of them........263.5!

I don't know if it's real or not. But hey! It's lower than the lowest number it said the other day when I first got it .

Here's to praying that on my real scale I would have lost tons of weight !

Oh, I almost forgot! I have this really pretty chiffon layered blue floral dress (I think it's chiffon ) that is a size 20 fashion bug. I think it was one of those like $10 ross clearance rack dresses. It's so pretty it reminds me of a ladies summer tea party. When I first got it, it "fit" in that I could squeeze into it and it was way to tight on the empire waist. But, I got it in the hopes and dreams that I would soon be comfy and look good in it. It was just so pretty and such a good deal I just had to get it anyway. I think I got it last summer or something.

Well ladies (and gentlemen?), I am sitting here wearing that same dress and it is totally comfy and cute! I may not be able to see a difference from my highest of 289, but at least my pretty dress can. It makes me feel better to look at my weight loss to date, not just since starting atkins. Granted some if it was lost having the flu I think, but it's still weight loss. Right?!

So from 289 to (in theory) 263.5... Wow! That's 25.5 pounds!!!! And 13.1 pounds in one month. Not to bad for not being able to exercise. Wow. I cant wait to see how I rock the scale once I am able to exercise lots. Ooooooo! I can't wait!

Onderland here I come!!!

I'm pretty tired, so I'm just going to do a quick food log.

Breakfast: Coffee with cream, spenda, vanilla extract

Snack: Baked kale and kraft single

Lunch: few bites of a soup that did not turn out well. 1 4carb hot link, 1/4 of home made low carb icecream.

Dinner: Weird soup my mom made and a 4 carb yogurt.

Snack: Pepper jack cheese. I measured out 3.5 oz, but I'm going to put some back in the fridge.

Good night all!

Indeed hun, I look at total weight loss, it is how much you get off from your worst! And the dress fitting is an excellent motivator that all you are doing is working, don't let the scale tick you off and give you bad vibes, go by how clothing fits, you should be measuring yourself too, then maybe once a month take measurements, especially when you can start exercising.

Hi JC~

Journals are best-est way to be accountable to yourself. You are dong very good. do you mind if I ask you a few Q's?

do you measure your HWC and what brand do you use?
When I started low carbing I made double sure no hidden sugars was in things I ate. I want to tell you about the way things went for me my first year doing Atkins..I so hope it is okay to do this in your journal.

Sweetie keep it as simple as possible. You love steak I read.Eat steak and eggs. Fix the steak and eggs anyway you want them. BUT dont use combo's. I mean things that you have to add to make things up to eat. i know we are all different but I have seen tons of ppl doing that and their weight loss is so slow they sometimes give up and start trying different things.
I hope you don't get upset or mad at me.

Keep green olives in fridge and at least 6 dozen eggs and tons of red meat. Never eat over 8 olives in one day. OH if you fry the green olives in with your steak when its about ready to take from heat they are so super fab you want thing you are on a diet. Oh pork neck bones from some place besides walmart. They have them but they are 90% bones.

Gosh any kind of meat you like eat it. Cept no organ meat.

I have found that when I add too much mixed up stuff or eat too many carbs I stop losing. The most VVVLC you can Biologically LOW CARB AS POSSIBLE.
yOUR BODY WILL BECAUSE A FAST MEAN LEAN FAT BURNING MACHINE.

WOW I just now think this is what is going on with me at this very moment....

A very important thing he said just popped into my dense head. He said if weight loss was too slow or stopped to stop consuming HWC! As the time moves forward on your OWE to take little things away until weight loss picks back up. He also said to cup back to only one half cup loosely packed low carb salad makings.

I'm so sorry I pooped in like this without asking. I know you did not ask for my words.

Fixin to get a storm here! Elictric is going off and on....I will caome back as soon as storm passes, if thats okay?

Come on over any time honey! I love people coming over and giving advise!

You'll have to forgive me for not being up on my acronyms. I don't know what HWC or OWE mean . Also, what do you mean by combos? Sorry, must be a blond thing!

Good point on the green olives. They are low carb, yes, but they add up quick. We sure do keep lots of meat around! We buy local beef by the 1/2. I think we still have at least 150 pounds in the freezer in the garage. I'm not much of an egg person, but I do buy the 5 dozen packs at costco and we go through them.

I hope to hear more from you!

Time for my end of the day recap. I may have gone a little high on the carbs today, but not to high.

Breakfast: Coffee, cream, splenda, vanilla

Lunch: 2 1/2 hot links (4 carbs each) with 1/2 cup home made low carb ice cream.

Dinner: Went out to eat and ordered fajitas. I ordered them with steak and shrimp, no carrots, and subbed the rice and beans for a side salad. The salad would have been better had I not ordered thousand island dressing which has some sugar in it. But I figured that a little salad dressing would not kill me.

Now I have a bad tummy ache, so maybe I was wrong about the salad dressing. I don't know. I took a little fiber with lunch, maybe that is what is bugging my tummy. Ug, I think I'm going to bed early.

mary- did you at one point stop losing? Like I don't understand how I lost so much weight and then it just stops working? I am struggling to get another 20 pounds off but I exercise so much I feel like crap if I don't eat more carbs, I would love to hear how you get past that?

It's that time again. Dinner is over, the dishes are being ignored, and I'm enjoying sitting on my butt writing in my journal. First of all, here is what I ate today.

Breakfast: Coffee with cream. I decided to forgo the splenda and vanilla today

Lunch: 1 1/5 hot links. I had to kind of force myself to not skip lunch.

Snack: about 20 grams sunflower seeds and a 2 carb vanilla protein drink.

Dinner: Leftover fajitas (sans tortillas of course ) I wanted to gorge on the chips my fam was eating. I don't know how much of my meal was spent with glances at my sons chips! But, I did not. I was really close to taking a bite of the flour tortilla left over on my sons plate. I stared at so hard its a good thing I don't have heat vision!

Dessert: 2.9 ounces home made icecream (low carb)

I don't know what's up with my tummy. I even took a pregnancy test to see if it was morning sickness. I think it's the fiber. I got some fiber pills from costco last time I went. Well, the serving size says 6 pills. And I'm like "Dang that's a lot!" so I only took 4. Well I took 4 with breakfast and 4 with lunch. I've not been eating enough veggies lately and I though that my system could use some more fiber. Well, that had me laying on the couch for a couple hours willing myself not to throw up. I could have given in and thrown up, but too many issues there . So yesterday I tried only taking 2 pills. Well, that sucked. I think I'm still having some tummy issues today because of yesterdays fiber pills.

ADD moment. My daughter just informed me that she was putting on a dance show. She then started using a closet rod thing as a mic and started singing "if you've ever done a dance like this before!!!! Then you dance like this!!!! then she threw down her "mic" and started doing a hip swinging dance with her hand on her hip like a little dive! Dang I've got cute kids!

Wanna see? Well, even if you don't, here they are anyway:

And my hubby is pretty cute to:

Well, that's enough bragging about how cute my kids are.

Wow, did I get off topic or what? Did I mention I was really ADD.

Has anybody here ever watched the tv show RUBY? It's on Netflix right now. I just saw the show where Ruby (this gal who has lost 100's of pounds) went and talked to kids at a fat kids summer camp. Oh my goodness, I'm 31 and I want to go to camp pocono, or whatever it was called! It was so cool looking! I totally cried when she gave her presentation and showed her dream list of things she could not do before and then had the kids make their own dream lists! Oh my that was such a cool show. If you have Netflix you should totally watch it. It is so inspiring!

Oops! Bed time for kiddo's. Got to go put them to bed.
