Lordy, those Atkins snack bars just make me bloat up like a balloon. The meal bars I can eat no problem but I won't lose, but those snack ones... yikes! I just don't buy em anymore, so not worth all the agony

I have tried the carbmaster yogurts but I cannot get past the ultra slick sweet aftertaste when I've had them. So I just buy plain full fat yogurt and strain my own and sweeten. Like Amber says tho, probably better to eat the yogurt rather than the bars!

Short version: 831 calories and 9 net carbs.

Totally weird. I tried to eat as much roast beef as I could tonight to fill myself up so I would not get snacky at night, and I still only at about 360 calories worth of beef. I'm not trying to do the super low calorie thing. Just trying to eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full.

Have any of you ever been like "I hardly ate today but am not hungry". I feel like I ate a bunch.
-Lots of cream in my coffee for breakfast.
-Protein shake for lunch.
-about 6 ounces of roast beef with buttered green beans for dinner.

Oh well. It's not the calories that count anyway. I mean, Isn't that what ketosis is all about? Turning your body into a fat burning machine? And if your body is burning fat for fuel, wouldn't it make sense that your body would need less fuel if it is using it's own?

I don't really care about the calorie counts, I just want to make sure I'm losing weight in a healthy manner, you know what I mean?

I am very hopeful of seeing the 240's tomorrow.

Oh, I almost forgot. It's the 18th! It's my two month Atkinsversary! Today is officially two months since I've started Atkins. I've had only two slip ups that only lasted one meal each. My total weight loss is 26 pounds! Yeah, I guess I'm tooten my own horn . But what the heck, why not?

I'm starting to to try to drink more water. And when I say water, I mean water in any form that includes sugar free stuff like crystal light. I bought a gallong sun tea jar and filled it up. I also put a water bottle in the freezer and used it as a giant ice cube inside. I have not gotten it all down, but I've drank quite a bit so far. I may yet be able to finish it tonight.

26lbs in 2 months!!! That's awsome!!! I was not hungry at all yesterday and I felt I ate a lot too. But looking at my menu it shows I didn't eat hardly anything.

Yea you must be deep in ketosis. I am like that too. Rarely want anything to eat. Are you taking multi-vitamins?

FINALLY IN THE 240'S!!!!!!!!!!!

Even bigger news than that is that I am down a full 40 pounds from my highest. I was at 289 at my highest earlier in the year, probably like January or Feb. I started on April 18th at 276.6, so I have not lost 40 pounds on Atkins. The other 12.4 pounds were a combo of getting sick and losing some weight and eating practically nothing all day. Not really great ways to lose weight.

I still don't see myself as different than I was at 289. I'm not sure if that was because I was in denial about how big I was, or I still see myself as as big or what. My clothes for the most part are all pretty lose fitting to begin with (lots of dresses), so there are not too many pieces of clothing to tell me I've lost weight. Fitting in those jeans and that pretty blue dress was pretty cool though.

I have some other jeans that I don't fit yet that I am looking forward to fitting into. Maybe I should be doing a weekly try on of some of my too small jeans. That would be fun/horrifying. It's always a slightly disturbing sight to see your blubber overflowing denim in costco size muffin top jiggles. And yet, when you fit into them, so awesome!

I don't know if I'm gonna work out today. My back is pretty sore and I have a lot to get done. That, and I'm not supposed to use my elliptical because a part on one of the foot pieces is broken. It's still usable, I just run the risk of breaking more stuff on it. But it has a 5 year parts warranty, so can't I just get those parts replaced too?

Did you take before pics that you can look at to compare? If not you can still take pics for next time.

I took before pics of myself wearing jeans that are too small for me that I use to wear because they were big and comfy on me. The pics are HORRIBLE and my lard is falling out all over the place and there's no way I can button or zip them up. There's about a mile distance between! I'm not sure if I'll ever post them

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
So 14 net carbs and 1,390 calories. I tried to eat a bunch at dinner so that I don't get all snacky later. I hope it works .
I did not do much of anything today. I took a nap. That's productive, right?
I was not feeling to hot today. I think my fiber affected my tummy . That and my back was acting up like crazy. So I'm hoping that tomorrow after today's rest that my back will be feeling better. It better, because I've got a butt load of housework that needs to be done! So even if I'm not using my elliptical tomorrow either I'm sure that I'll be getting lots of exercise shaking it around the house and strutting my oh so sexy apron to some upbeat music.
Did I mention that I'm also in the middle of potty training my DS3 right now? Yeah, also a reason for lots of work to do. The little stinker pulled his pants down today because he did not want to get pee in his pants and peed on the carpet downstairs! I know he knows whats up, but he has decided to not go in the potty for some reason.
Suggestions?
Oh boy, potty training is a challenge for sure. I say the reward for going in potty, and then a big boy reward if he does it for a specified amount of time...
YAY on the weight loss!!!! You are doing awesome!!!
6-20: 249.8 Still under 250
Oh I am so excited that I am so close to 247. 247 is the absolute lowest I have been since I've been pregnant with my DD who is 6 now. I as 247 for about 5 minutes after my son (now 3) was born, and then I gained, yet again. So once I get under 247 I'll be the smallest I have been in over 6 years!!!
I'm not sure where I'm going to me on Friday, my weigh in day. 247.6 is my scheduled goal, but I was above last weeks scheduled goal, so it's less likely to happen. But, 2.2 pounds by Friday could happen. My body seems to bounce quite a bit. So who knows. Either way down is good .
Wow, only 11 carbs today? Weird. 1,306 calories.
I was sooooooo wanting some of the stuff I was making the kids Popsicles with! I probably had a few extra carbs licking the cup . I wanted to make the kids something healthy that would satisfy their "the ice cream man is here!" cravings.
Here is what I put in them:
Half and half
agave necter
frozen berry mix of blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries
bananas
I just put it all in my food processor and then into little disposable plastic cups, covered them with plastic wrap, and stuck a stick in each cup. I wanted to get some "real" popsicle makers, but I could not find any when I went to the store. . This worked well though.
The kids were going NUTS over it! I let them each have some of it unfrozen and my ds3 is all "its like ice cream!!!!".
When I was at costco the other day I bought two things of half and half by accident instead of whole cream . So I need to find ways to use half and half. I was thinking of getting some local honey and making the fame some ice cream. The pops work to though.
Not much going on today. I got as much housework done as I could, which wasn't enough . My back is extra sore today for some reason. I still have not heard from the elliptical company about the broken part. I emailed them the other day and today I called and left a message. I'll call again tomorrow. I need my freaking elliptical!!!!! I think my pain levels are actually less on day's that I work out. All the endorphins maybe?
See ya'll tomorrow!
Show him how to open the back door.... I have 3 guys here now & they all think that the creek is their personal potty! Worked for training my granson & he still thinks it is cool! In fact dad & older brother do too...
When I told the 10 year-old to take some TP with him out back of the barn & dig a hole to go in, the only bathroom was in use, he thought I was gross!!!
My little man (7) would have just gone & done it!
Ok, so I did not meet my weekly scheduled goal of 247.6. But how can I be disappointed when I still lost 4 pounds this week? I only lost 1.6 pounds last week, so I'm catching up with my scheduled goal. By next week I hope I'm caught up.
Ok, so I cheated and that was just my post from the daily weighers thread.
I was just looking at my ticker and I realized something. I have 113.2 pounds to lose. So...... Once I lose 14 more pounds I'll officially have less that 100 pounds to lose! Ok, so for some people that may not be such amazing news. I mean, most people would say "oh my goodness I am such a cow I have over 100 pounds to lose!!!! Waaaaaa!!!! ".
But, I sure am glad that I am not most people. For one thing, most people probably don't have over 100 pounds to lose . For another thing, I firmly believe in staying positive. I can't stand it when people cant see the bright side of things. I end up felling obsessive about convincing them to look on the bright side. I'm sure I get pretty annoying at times (He he!). But looking on the positive side has been so instrumental in my weight loss journey so far.
Like, in how I look at food, how much weight I have to lose, and other stuff.
-I AM NOT going to think about what food I can't have. It would just make me miserable!
-I AM NOT going to think about how much weight I have to lose.
-I AM NOT going to think about not looking good enough in the mirror.
-I AM going to think about all the way yummy food I CAN have.
-I AM going to think about how much weight I have already lost, and get excited about how much weight I am GOING TO lose.
-I AM going to think about how much better I look in the mirror (even if I can't see it myself) and get excited about how I am going to look even hotter WHEN I have lost all the weight.
-I AM going to enjoy every pounds lost along the way. Now that I am 248.2, I am less than I was at 289. Each pound I lose I am going recognize as a victory, having won a battle and being quickly on my way to winning the war.
-I AM going to believe in myself and know that not only can I do it, but that I AM DOING IT!!!!!!!!!
I may still be trying to wrap my head around the fact that I am actually losing weight. I still can't quite picture myself at a weight were I don't think I need to lose any weight. But I am trying. And I am going to keep on trying. And I am going to succeed. In fact, I AM SUCCEEDING!!!!
ADD moment here. I love spell check!
ADD moment over, for now.
I am trying something new. Right now I am only doing cardio. So far I have been working out in the afternoon's. I need to wait until after my breakfast, even if it is only cream in my coffee, is out of my tummy. So I end up working out later. Sometimes even a couple hours after lunch.
My new thing is working out before breakfast. I can't stand working out with food in my tummy, even something little. And I'm thinking, if I am working out before breakfast, won't I be burning more fat? Well, if yesterday is any indication, then heck yes! Down a pound, or more. I was not able to potty all the way this morning, so my weight might even be less.
So yesterday, and today, I worked out before breakfast. Yesterday I had a protein drink that was low fat with 30 grams of protein and was 160 calories and was way hungry pretty quick afterwards. This morning I had an Atkins shake that had 9 grams of fat, 140 calories and 10 grams of protein. It is 12:50 right now and that protein drink is all I have had to eat. I am totally not hungry! Like, if I were to eat something I would have to force it down kind of not hungry. Ketosis rocks. Dietary fat rocks. Low carb rocks!
