Maggie You're back!!! YAY! Thanks for the support It is such a horrible addiction. I've read that it changes your brain chemistry and that's why it is so hard to quit. I know I can quit, it's staying quit that's hard. I know I can't go out with friends or even have one drink because I will want to have a cigarette. And once I have a drink my inhibitions go out the window Thank you for praying for me, I'm going to need it!!!

Thanks for checking up on me ladies I stuck to my rotations and did not smoke Today is no smoking day #15 - hoping it gets easier!!! My weight seems to be at a standstill though. I'm wondering if quitting smoking is affecting it right now. My weights over the weekend went like this, 196.4, 198.6, 196.4, and today 198.8 with today being a DD. I'll see how weigh in looks tomorrow and go from there. I have my yearly physical today at 2:20 so I have to fast until then so I can get my bloodwork done. He said I didn't have to and could wait until tomorrow morning to get blood taken but today is a DD anyway. I ate last night at like 9:30 (fiber one cereal) so I should be fine.

I really need to start MOVING and exercising! I think that would help me all around. I did Callanetics once last week and felt pretty good afterward. DS has a basketball game tonight at 7:45 and then I want to watch The Biggest Loser when we get home. Hope everyone has a tolerable Monday

15 days and no smoking! Oh that scale drives me insane staying off mine for a bit. I hear you on the exercise bit, just started getting back into it myself. One day at a time and you will be back to being consistent as well. Here's to a new day Gracie!

The scale can be such a downer!!! Yesterday was an UD and not a bad one either. I really thought the weigh in would've been better. Hopefully after today's DD I'll see a new number I know how good exercise makes me feel but I can't seem to make my lazy butt get up and do it

I'm back... my weight at the doctor's office was 196.8 - fully clothed, pants, tank top, and hoodie. So weird I didn't eat anything yet today and only drank water and black coffee Then the lady drawing blood told me they changed the definition of fasting and I wasn't supposed to have the black coffee. I told her that when I called last week to make the appointment they said black coffee was fine I had her draw it anyway because I didn't eat all dang day for the test. She wrote "not fasting" on it She said that caffeine can affect the cholesterol test??? WHATEVER! I asked her if anyone ever told the doctor and she said she didn't know. SERIOUSLY, the doctor is about 10 feet away down the hallway. C.R.A.Z.Y. So if my cholesterol comes back out of whack I don't even care

My BP was 125/78 (good), pulse 68 (good), heart, lungs, stomach all good. Hoping my bloodwork comes back good. I told him to test for Magnesium because of the acid reflux medicine I take. He said he never heard of it before but my gastro dr. specifically told me that the acid reflux medicine depletes magnesium. I swear doctors are all stll learning. I suppose that's why it's called "practicing medicine"

Congrats on staying smoke-free!! I was told no coffee too when I had to fast for bloodwork. Like you said, docs are still learning and each have their own beliefs/practice of medicine. Your other levels are really good, hope the tests come back the same way.

Good morning! Doctor's office called and said all blood work came back good but the cholesterol was a little high. Wonder if it was actually the coffee? The phlebotomist said the coffee would affect the cholesterol reading only Anyhoo, he is giving me a pamphlet of foods to eat and wants me to start exercising and lose weight - I will get another blood draw in 4 months to check it again.

I had a great DD yesterday, wasn't even hungry at all! I had black coffee/water for breakfast, nothing for lunch, and for dinner I had carrots and a Weight Watchers sausage muffin. My total for the day was under 300 calories!!! The scale this morning read 195.0 So I'm down 8.2 lbs. so far I have 1.8 lbs. to go for my first mini-goal!!! I'm trying to reward myself each ten pounds - maybe I'll get a pedicure or massage

Today is an UD and I'm making a yummy dinner. I found a recipe for meatballs using ground beef, Stove Top dry stuffing mix, eggs, etc. and you put it over noodles (Dreamfields) with beef gravy. Not sure what breakfast and lunch will be yet. Aiming at 1900 calories for the day.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Glad your bloodwork came back good! If they said coffee could affect the cholesterol reading, then I wouldn't worry too much! Congrats on your loss and enjoy your UD!

YES! Day #16 of no smoking It seems to be getting easier. The cravings have subsided to maybe once or twice a day. It's worse on the weekends because that is when I would usually smoke and have a couple beers. I think staying away from alcohol is helping as well. This weekend is DH's birthday, well Monday but we will celebrate on Saturday. I will have to BEHAVE

Thanks Maggie! I'm not even sure what we're doing. I may have some people over our house on Saturday night to celebrate - or we will go out. Whatever DH decides. He will most likely want to stay home because of having to drive. I could always be the DD and then I don't have to partake.

I had a good UD yesterday, kept my calories in check. Weight today is 195.2, so only a 0.2 lb. jump Hoping for a new low tomorrow.

Today's DD I'm going to keep simple. I will probably fast until dinner and then keep it under 500 calories. I've got lots of work to do today so I'll check back later

Congrats on the loss and staying smoke-free!! I agree, JUDDD works perfectly for you. I was told to not drink coffee too when I tested, so maybe that is why your level was up a bit. Hopefully when tested again it will be lower.
Hope you have a wonderful day..it's almost Friday!!

Thanks ladies for all your support Yesterday was a good DD - I fasted until dinner and then had some carrots, Weight Watchers McMuffin, and some Fiber One 80 chocolate cereal. My calories were probably under 400 My scale rewarded me this morning with a new low of 194.2 I am ONE pound away from my first mini goal

Not sure what I'm going to eat today for my UD. I want to try and keep it as low carb as possible. I have Dreamfields pasta and sauce so maybe I'll make that. UDs are harder for me because I have unlimited choices

Hope everyone has a great day!

Awesome Gracie! So do you for the most part stay as much as you can low carb on your up day? I know you don't have too but do you find the scale is different for you if you do? I have wanted to try JUDDD eventually and need to read up more about how people are doing on it.

WTG! on 18 days no cigs!

Congratulations and have a nice day!

Honestly, no I don't stay low-carb on my UDs. I only count calories. On my last UD me and my girls made this huge dark chocolate cupcake with chocolate chips and chocolate icing with jimmies. I ate a piece of it. But, I stayed within my allowable calories of 1950 and I only had a blip of +0.2 lbs. the next day. I would probably be healthier if I did it low-carb but I like not feeling deprived on my UDs. I definitely think you should give JUDDD a whirl - even just two weeks and see how you feel. Once the Sirt1's kick in, the DDs aren't bad at all.

I will eventually, not as brave as you giving up cigarettes and dieting at the same time. I just got the walking under control and watching the eating a bit so I will take it one day at a time. I NEED to do JUDDD low carb for my sugar issues and wondered how others faired in the losing weight department. Hey, I gave Hhcg a whirl anything is possible if the weight goes down. Thanks for the info.

Yay on the great weigh in!!!!!!!! You are kicking booty this year. You still have 2 weeks to lose that last little pound to reach your goal. Have you picked a reward?
