I did good yesterday until the big cupcake was made! Scale reflected it - 202.0 this morning. But TOM is playing hide and seek now and I'm retaining major water. My rings are tight on my fingers. We are going to a birthday party for my nephew today at 1:00. We are gonna watch the playoff games there. This is going to be a challenge on a DD for sure. I'm going to try and fast until dinner or around 4:00 - that always helps me.

No worries, today is a DD. I would not have been able to resist the cupcake either. I can not have the stuff in the house or I eat it. Dh and I are emptynesters, so it is easier for us in that respect. Enjoy the party with your family. When faced with temptation today, tell yourself, you can have it tomorrow . Perhaps that will help.

Hey Gracie..I agree with Marie. I usually gain 3-5lbs easily with TOM too. Enjoy today with family while doing the best you can...these memories are priceless and really matter in the bigger picture.

That's a great idea, and I even think you should make a "to go" plate so you really *can* have it tomorrow!

TOM sucks!!! You are totally right, these memories are priceless but I have to remember they aren't about the food!!!

It's odd watching the games without the Steelers being in the playoffs! We are very spoiled fans though so I can't complain! At least now we are getting back to HOCKEY

Hey! I did pretty good yesterday considering the bday party. They had veggie pizza, chips & dip, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, meatballs, potato salad, ice cream cake, chocolate cake, etc. etc. etc. I started the day off at around 1:00 pm with a banana (100 calories) and then at the party I had some pretzel sticks (110 calories). By 6:00 pm I was starving and wanted to go home but DH wanted to watch the rest of the game. So I had 7 meatballs in sauce. I guestimated my calories yesterday around 650 The scale only went down a teensy bit (201.2) but TOM is in full force - cramps, bloat, UGH!!! So far today I've had my coffee/cream/coconut oil. Not sure what I want to eat yet - my tummy feels so bloated

I have lots of work to do today so I'll check back later!

I agree with Deb, you did great on Sunday sticking to your DD. Hope you have a whoosh soon once TOM leaves. I remember your TOM was right before mine, now mine is right before yours...yours was a reminder that mine was coming...LOL. The information we share in our journals that I would know this Hope you feel better today.

Good morning After yesterday's UD I am down on the scale to 199.4 that's down -1.8# I know TOM was killing me yesterday and I was in the bathroom a lot. Hoping it eases up a bit today. I ate to my calories yesterday too. Breakfast was coffee/cream/coconut oil, Lunch was peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a banana, dinner was breaded pork chop, broccolli, and diced potatoes. My snacks were pretzels, bite size mini-wheats, and before bed I had a bowl of cookie crisp I'm blaming TOM cravings on the cookie crisp My calories came out right around 2000. Today is a DD and I'm going to aim at staying below 500. I need to get the Sirt1 gene flowing through my body

Yesterday was a pretty decent DD, stayed around 600 calories. Scale went down to 198.0 so I lost -1.4 lbs. Happy with that. Only two more lbs. to get back to where I was before Christmas. Today is an UD and I'm really trying to stay within my calorie limit. That seems to be the hardest part for me. I have this UD mentality of eating everything I can because tomorrow is a DD I know JUDDD will work if I do it correctly

Gracie, you are doing GREAT. You are so close to preChristmas weight. Hang in there. Try to make today higher fat/protein, lower carb. You are so close, you want to hang onto this great loss!!!!.

Hey peeps After yesterday's UD the scale went up to 199.0 - not too bad considering it's after a 2000+ calorie UD. I will post yesterday's menu - it was nothing close to LC Today I'm hoping to get in a really good DD, staying at or below 500 calories. I have work all day and then DD has basketball practice from 4:30-6 and then DS has a basketball game at 7:45 pm so I should be able to keep myself busy. Hoping to see a nice new number tomorrow!!!

Yesterday's Menu:
B: weight watchers muffin - turkey sausage, egg, cheese
L: weight watchers panini, pretzels, mini chocolate thing
D: cup of potato soup, salad, baked cod, baked potato, sticky bun, slice of strawberry bread (Ate at Eat-n-Park)
Snacks: two Ritz crackerfulls (peanut butter & chocolate), handfuls of cinnabon cereal, handful of frosted shredded wheat

You can see my menu was CRAP but it.is.what.it.is!!!!

Thanks Marie! I'm actually fighting some cravings due to another issue that I haven't discussed here at all. I have been a "social smoker" for YEARS, probably since I was a teenager I smoked way more when I was younger and totally quit 3X when I was pregnant (one time for a whole year) but I would always fall back into it. In a week I would sometimes smoke if I was stressed and then if I went out with friends on a weekend I would smoke a lot Today is DAY #11 with ZERO SMOKING! I have been having major headaches, foot tingles, moodiness, BUT I'm really trying to make it!!!! I need to kick this habit to the curb and I'll be honest, it is really hard

I'm just stupid for even doing it in the first place!!! I get so mad at myself!!! But it's so easy to say "I only do it once a week" I am starting to feel better every day. The withdrawal sucks and my throat hurts but I really, really, really want to be DONE. I'm going to have to be a hermit for the next month so I don't have any temptations.

Hey Gracie! Congrats on the loss!! Everyone says that to quit smoking is one of the hardest things to do...I commend you on 11 days!!! You're getting the hardest part over with keep going!!

Aww thanks Shari! Pray for me!!! I keep telling my kids to pray for me when they go to church on Fridays at school. I know how hard it is to stay quit! I didn't smoke for a whole year from pregnancy and until Erin was a few months old and I went out one night with friends and started back up You seriously can't even have ONE

Happy Friday I'm not sure if I like the weekends because there's too much time to think about what I'm eating and not smoking Tongiht DD has a basketball game at 7:00 pm and then tomorrow night my DS has one at 8:30 pm. Hoping to just stay busy and maybe get some good rest.

Yesterday was a good DD but I was struggling with the munchies. I didn't do it but I was really craving snacky type foods. I'm glad I stuck it out because the scale went down this morning to 196.4 So after a week of rotations I'm down -6.8 lbs. and back to where I started before the Christmas and vacation eating frenzy I'm 3.2 lbs. away from my first mini-goal, hoping to get there in a week or two. I'm trying to think of a good "reward" for reaching my first goal. I'm thinking new walking/exercise shoes

Hope everyone has a great Friday and an even better weekend!

Goodness Gracie my heart goes out to you on working on not smoking. I am not a smoker but I know how hard it is to just stay away from too many carbs so I think I can understand the struggle somewhat. Losing weight and stopping smoking at the same time is a double whammy for sure so I will definitely keep you in my prayers honey.

One day at a time!
