I took some melatonin around 12:45 am and I think I fell asleep maybe 30 minutes after that. I stayed up to watch the stupid Steelers game (we won) but then couldn't sleep.

I did have an NSV yesterday though. I went to Kohls and tried on a bunch of pants and tops. I'm comfortably in a size 12 pants and the Large tops were kind of loose. I did try on one medium top and it fit but was kind of snug. I'm very happy with those sizes though!!!

Happy Monday and thank goodness it's a nice short week I bought my turkey yesterday - it's a nice big 20.4 pounder I had a hard time following rotations while I traveled for work so I decided to just keep them maintenance days. Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving with DH's brother's family because he (brother) has to work on Thursday. It was delicious! My SIL made this pumpkin dump cake - OMG It was the best thing I've ever tasted I got the recipe and I'm going to make it for Thursday. It's pumpkin, pecans, yellow butter cake with a yummy cream cheese/cool whip frosting. There's 2 sticks of butter poured on top - No wonder it's so yummy!!! My kids only have 2.5 days this week and then we are all off for a nice long weekend. I'm ready for a break!

I had a really good DD yesterday but I had trouble sleeping. The weekends always screw me up! I was under 500 calories yesterday and not even really hungry. I love JUDDD Today is an UD and I've had coffee/cream/equal and an egg mcmuffin from McDonalds. Not sure what my menu will be the rest of the day. I think I'm getting a cold/sinus issues. My throat is scratchy and ears hurt. I took a sudafed this morning to hopefully clear up any of the gunk!!! Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Thanks! Actually, to be honest, I get a calm feeling on DDs It's nice to not have to think much about food. How are you supplements working? I would think they would make DDs a cinch if you're not hungry. Maybe I'll try those after the holidays - are they expensive? And are there any side effects? I have fairly low/good BP so I don't want to take it too low.

The supplements are working wonders!!! They are not too expensive. The Resveratrol is only 6.99 a bottle? and the pterostilbene is 15.99 I think? here at netrition.

I KNOW it is mental for me.. I have no hunger and could most likely do a DD without hunger.. It is in my mind that I feel deprived...

I have not noticed any side effects at all.. I have perfect BP and blood glucose, no jitters or lack of sleep for me. I guess it is individual. I thought it was inexpensive enough to try anyway. I am sold!

I'll have to read more about the supplements, but they are pretty cheap! I guess with me doing JUDDD, I am already fasting so I wonder if I would need them? They mimic fasting But I guess anything that helps with hunger is worth it!! I don't experience very much real hunger on my DDs but my head wants to eat all kinds of naughty things

Thanks Shari! I'm enjoying all the yummy food and at least maintaining for now. It's really odd though - on Sunday at my BIL's house my husband's cousin told me I looked really thin through the middle! Then yesterday while I was at the grocery store I ran into a friend who said it looked like I lost a lot of weight!!! So maybe the every other day fasting is taking away inflammation or something? My size 12 jeans are all fitting perfectly and I can wear a Medium shirt from some stores. I'm just gonna keep up with my rotations and hope for the best!!!

I wish you and your family a YUMMY and wonderful Thanksgiving too!!!

Yesterday was a good UD - I kept things pretty close to my calorie numbers. I ate out all 3 meals yesterday!!! Egg mcmuffin for breakfast, Wendy's value size cheeseburger deluxe and fries for lunch, and dinner was take out from a nice restaurant. I had 2 buffalo wings, 2 pieces of pizza bread, and a big meatball w/cheese. Then for dessert I had 2 brownie bites and a small taste of a red velvet oopsie w/cream cheese frosting!!! My estimated calories were around 2100 so that pound gained is no biggie!!!

Today is a DD and I'm going to try really hard and keep it between 300-400 calories. I ate enough yesterday to sustain me through today. Today I'm going to focus on water, tea, and maybe some Chili for dinner and a bedtime snack. I've been taking Sudafed too so I hope that doesn't interfere with my rotations but I'm all stuffed up

Hope everyone enjoys their last day of work and has a beautiful holiday weekend!!!

Avoiding that typical 10 pound plus gain most people have during this time, IS SUCCESS!!!! You know when the holidays are over, things will get moving again.... just stay your course!..

You are both exactly right - maintaining over the holidays is definitely a WIN! Usually I would easily be back over 200+ after the long weekend of eating. I will be happy staying the same as where I started or at least losing one measley little pound

I was reading yesterday about the potatoes and decided to dive right in I'm always a sucker for quick weight loss! I'm inching my way back down - would love to at least lose a pound for month. I do have to consider I went away for 3 days and have had multiple feeding frenzies

Okay, so I did a potato DD yesterday and apparently it worked. I didn't weigh the day before because I had a huge UD the day before - we are talking HUGE Today I'm a pound lower than my last DD so I'll take it! I would be happy to just maintain or lose a pound this month considering all of the eating I've done. Today is an UD and I'm shooting for 1900 calories and trying to keep it moderate carbs. I have hot sausage, red pepper, yellow pepper, green pepper, and onions in the crockpot for dinner My DH started to low-carb on Monday to try and lose 10-15 pounds before Christmas and our trip to Florida. I figure I can eat that way too (moderately) and stay away from the sugar. BUT, I did buy all the ingredients again to make the pumpkin dump cake It was SOOOO good!!! I also need to work on the water - yesterday I did really good and I want to focus on that today.

A DD Hack

I'm willing to try anything once It wasn't too bad but I love potatoes. I had 3 potatoes - all microwaved with spray butter and a little ketchup. My total calories were around 650 for the day.

I read about other potato diets though - one is for 3 days. You can eat 3 lbs. of potatoes in one day - any way you want to cook them. You can use spices, margarine, and low-fat condiments. You also have to drink 12 glasses of water each day. They say it yields a 7-10 lb. loss. I will not find out because I am eating normal today. Maybe tomorrow on my DD I will try another potato day.
