Zip's JUDDD journey~
I have done LC off and on since 2002. I lost 45 pounds and was at a nice goal weight. It was on my higher end for normal weight range, but as a bigger gal, it was perfect. Over the years I have put on about 15 pounds....not is the time to get back there!
Started today. JUDDD April 18th, 2012. I do not weigh myself, but DH looked at the scale for me and will track it. I will weigh in, like this, once a week. I will not ask him what the number is or how much I have lost. See how it goes and I will go by clothes. If I reach goal (or below) I may look at the journal he is going to make for us. WE will have to see. My goal would be 165 with an ULTIMATE DREAM goal of 158! Here I go! 04/18/12 - DD #1 B - Pure Protein shake 120 c and 23 grams protein L - Pure Protein shake 120 c and 23 grams protein D - shrimp/cabbage and something to mix it together 350c 590 calories (if needed I have chicken stock here too) ![]()

UP DAY for me! My down day went really well. I was actually really surprised. I drank a TON of water and it was very manageable.
UP DAY: B - 2 eggs, OMM, cheese 476 S - granola bar/cottage cheese 280 L - lettuce salad with grilled chicken, cheese, dried Raspberries, raspberry vinigrette 533 D - pizza casserole and cauliflower roasted 455 That gets me to 1744 , I need more. Will probably sprinkle cheese on the cauli and maybe add some slivered almonds to my salad at lunch. Try to get to 2100 |

It's my 2nd DD. I am already hungry so hoping I can stave off that.
DD for me! Tummy is already growling....must get some more water! B - pure protein shake (around 10:00) L - pure protein shake (around 2:00 ) D - deli ham, laughing cow cheese and some peanuts at the ball fields tonight TONS and TONS of water and coke zero So far so good! Yesterday I finished up with 2070 calories. Pretty spot on! WIsh me luck for today! |

Survived the weekend on JUDDD. Counted all calories and made it through. Yesterday was a DD and my calories were a bit high. I stopped at 725 calories and typically I shoot for 650! My tummy simply would not stop growling.

Today I have had 430 calories for breakfast. Lunch will be a salad and Dinner out at Longhorn for Dh's birthday! I was so happy to eat this morning. It felt really good. I hope the down days get easier! Yesterday was a total struggle!

It's a DD for me, it's my 4th DD. I am approaching this one differently. My last DD was a horrible hungry mess! Going to approach this one differently. Prior I starved all day so I could eat something at night. This time I am spacing out my consumption in hopes that I am not starving and irritable all day!
B - pure protein shake (120) S - veggie beef broth soup (125) L - tuna with laughing cow cheese (135) D - lettuce, deli ham, mushrooms, cheese, vinaigrette (253) Total 633 for the day! |

I'm going to see how things go with that plan. IF needed I can add another shake in there for a total of 750 calories for the day. Sunday was a disaster. I was irritable and not happy all day long and HUNGRY. I can't live like that so we will see how this goes.

Last week went well. Thursday's dd was a bit high and the UD was too but I got right back on Track come Saturday.
Today is a dd and plans for it have it going right on target! DH as of 04/25 had lost 7 pounds his first week on JUDDD. He told me I did well too, I don't watch the numbers on the scale, he is logging it all for me! |

May 1st, I took my measurements today. Weighed in too, have no idea what it said as DH logged it for me. Yesterday's dd was good, probably a bit higher at 750c than it should have been. When at the ball fields, it is tough!

Struggling a bit today in my DD. I think in part due to the fact I didn't start the day with my protein loaded shake. DH forgot to bring them in, so I ate my "snack" of ham/cheese at 7:30. That is typically what I eat at 11:00 a.m. Seem to be wanting to eat more than is typical of a DD. I'll Have another big cup of coke zero! That should help!

Had another granola bar for mid morning snack today. I had a full 3/4 cup cottage cheese with it and it STILL messed up my bloodsugar. LEARN LEARN LEARN from this. It simply doesn't work for me to have a granola bar in the a.m. Reactive hypoglycemia just can't tolerate it! MAD AT MYSELF!

Down Day for me! Happy Friday all!
B - pure protein shake 120c S - deli ham and string cheese 130c L - tuna with hummus 130c D - talapia and steamed mushrooms and broccoli 205c total is 585 Trying harder to get my DD calories closer to 500! It's a struggle for me as I get the shakes, irritable and headachy. I will report back with how this goes! 1 gallon of water and coke zero |

Yesterday was a GREAT UD! Kept my calories right at 2000. Today my DD is going well. Just had lunch, feel full and I have 426. Dinner is VEGGIES so only 90 calories planned for that!

Tomorrow marks the 3rd week, 21 days on JUDDD. My first 2 weigh ins have been losses, hoping that continues. I have no idea how much, as I don't ask. I do ask if it is a loss!

Hi Zipp! I'm following your progress with interest and hoping the best for you. Are you exercising during this time? I flirted with the idea of JUDDD but I don't think I'd have the energy for P90X (I can barely hang on with 2200 calories).

Yes I am exercising. I am still doing my 5 miles a day, on average 25-28 miles a week. I haven't added weight training back in, but plan to in a couple weeks! Jillian Michels DVD is where I plan to start! Thanks for checking in!! I will try to make it to the main lobby to check in re: exercise! I know you can add in calories for extreme exercising...although with just walking, I haven't had to do that!Meg - thanks! So far I am loving JUDDD! Yesterday's DD was a huge success. I even resisted peanuts at the ball fields. Total calories 550. GREAT for me! Up day now!!!!!!!! I haven't really planned well for this one. I am guessing tonight I will have to add a snack or 2. Busy time of year at our house! |

On up days are you LC'ing?? I sort of go back and forth, as the only thing that matters in calories. But, I have a terrible sugar addicition, and I'm afraid I could be in trouble. Anyway, I'm happy for you and your dh, good job. |

Anna - I follow a lower carb plan! It isn't VLC, but it is pretty lc. Sugar and I don't do well, so I limit that as much as possible. DD's I eat lc for sure. I don't want my blood sugar going way too low. That would screw up a DD completely!
This weekend went well. Saturday was my best down day yet. I was very happy about that. Weekend dd's are always tough! I prefer the MWF ud routine, so this week is a bummer. OH WELL, next week, MWF. Look forward to that. Yesterday's calories were a bit over what I was supposed to have, but I will call that a WIN! Down day today! So far, so good! If I get hungry, I will just remind myself what all I ate yesterday! ![]() |
