I am sorry to hear DS15 is having a hard time. High school is so hard. And I know it must be so hard for you as a mother to see him going through a dark spot. Hopefully with some help from the therapist he can be feeling/doing better soon.
Thank you! How was your TRIP?????

I'm so glad you have a good relationship with DS's counselor. It's such a crazy hard time of life to go through, and the whole family is going through it too! How is DD dealing with it all?

and
I worry about DD12 a lot through this. She seems good with it all. She just tells me, she just want help for us all. Bless her heart! She is amazing. She listens to him, whenever we aren't there and he just needs to vent. She says, she just nods her head and says she understands!

LC girls !!! Nothing wrong with that!!!!!!!!

anyone tried any new LC recipes lately????

It's TUESDAY. Thank goodness Monday is behind us. Got some other bad news yesterday...from friends. I won't go into it here. DS15 had a good day, that is what I am focusing on.

Had a good LC day yesterday. STaying the course today.

Yesterday I walked 3 miles and hula 8 minutes. Meant to do more last night...life got in the way.

Today hoping for 5 miles and more hula. Not sure hula will happen, we have a busy evening ahead of us. DD12's school is having a Faculty basketball game fundraiser type thing. DD12 and I are working it. Should be fun!

DH and I walk fast. Breathing is labored and we get in 3 1/4 miles in 50 minutes the dog would NEVER tolerate ambling!

Monica! Glad DS had a good day! I forget, did his therapist talk about meds for him at all? Mine has just begun some the last 5 weeks--what a difference already!

I'm so jealous that your DH goes out walking with you. I think that's the main reason why I don't venture out too far from home, cause I don't like doing it by myself

Hang in there, honey! ♥

Is it just Tuesday? Feels like it should be Wednesday . I guess that is post vacation depression setting in.

Glad to hear DS had a good day and hope everything is okay with your friend(s). I am doing a LC UD and so far its going pretty good. Can't complain when I have a chipotle burrito bowl in front of me!

Have fun fundraising with DS tonight! Enjoy yourself.

tough night at the house last night. We told DS15 to take a mental health day from school today. DH is home with him and his therapist can see him at noon. We will all be there for that appointment.

Amazing enough, through this, I am staying on plan. Hoping that continues! Thanks for all the kind words!!!!

Only walked 4 yesterday and no hula.

I'm so sorry, Monica. You guys sound like amazing parents. He's so lucky to have you, and I'll just bet he knows that. There's just no way he can express that during this time of life. He'll be your best friend in a few years - hang on to that thought.

And you rock, sticking to plan! I'm so glad you're LCing right now - somehow I think it may be easier to stick to that in times of stress than it is to have good DDs.

Thank you all! Yesterday was a better day. He saw his therapist and he will see her again today. Again, we are just walking with caution!

Eating has been on plan, so I am amazed I have stayed on plan through this all! This weekend will be iffy. Going to my Mom's. We are celebrating her birthday. My Plan is to stay on plan, maybe just eating a few more carbs than normal...but no sugar!

We had a good weekend. DS15 seems to be doing ok right now. We are in limbo trying to figure out what to do and how to approach things for next school year. He desparately wants nothing to do with his High School. He is very interested in online options. That scares me, but with his abilities, he can probably graduate a year early. We are thinking that getting started on college early may be a better option for him.

It was Cupid's Ball weekend for my DD12 and my Dad. THe February Dance was postponed due to ice. Here are a few pics:

What a beautiful DD you have! She looks like she's just beaming! And Dad/GP looks pretty darn happy too.

I think the online HS is a great idea. I wouldn't have traded my HS years for the fun and friendship, but I think I would've loved the idea back then. And my HS was very open and friendly and there were very few cliques. Everyone talked to and was friends with everybody. Very unlike my Jr HS (back in Independence MO) where there were definite separations and groups and hostility. Weird. If he's uncomfortable there, it may be the very best option. Good luck figuring all that out!

Carol - OH Girl, I am sure Indep MO was different completely! We are also going to suggest that we do a fast track to graduation for him. He might be willing to stay at the high school if he can graduate a year early. We will chat with him about that tonight!

Thanks for the compliments guys! DD12 loved it! SHe also loves dressing up! She is truly a PRINCESS / DIVA!

Great pics! I'm so glad she had a great time!!

Some kiddos just do not tolerate high school... and they're usually the bright, more mature ones...smart enough to know not to wanna deal with childish BS and drama....We've talked about this before, your DS is very much like my DD17.. there was a time where I really thought we were gonna have to do the online thing with her... but she connected strongly with a group of girls her sophomore year that are drama-free and wonderful, so she's hung in there even despite having drama with jealousy from classmates in several classes over the years--you know that story!.... My DS's GF fast tracked and graduated a year before him, it was very fitting for her personality and she hasn't regretted it. Back in my day, *I* sure would have loved an opportunity like that, or doing the online thing!!
I know you guys will do what you think is best for him. ♥

Judy, he loved the idea of graduating early! We verified what he would need to make it happen and it looks like just 3 or 4 classes outside of normal classes the next 2 years. He could easily do that over a summer or something. He was so happy with the compromise. He was very willing to stay at his school if he could get out early. I emailed his councelor last night. HOping to have something figured out later this week! He smiled a lot last night! that felt NICE!

I just got word from his councelor, she said it is a very obtainable goal to graduate early. She indicated they have 4 students do that last school year and 2 that plan to do that this year! He will be so happy. SHe is going to meet with him and set up a 3 year (doable) plan!
