Eek - I always click on your journal from your sig line and it brings me to a year ago - so I reply to whatever you were doing last year!
Kids are great at monitoring our food intake it seems. Not sure why that is?? I love weekend up days - especially in bbq season!

It's FRIDAY EVE All! only one more day till Friday! Bring on the weekend is what I say.

Had a great controlled UD yesterday, hoping for a solid DD today. I am a bit hungry, so for now, I am drinking my water!

Plans for the weekend? We are heading to my parents house. I think we will take the boat out and do some tubing. Play a bunch of games. Eat some, drink some, you name it! Should be fun. I am planning 3 UD's in a row and then Monday, hoping for a nice solid DD!

It sounds like a really fun weekend Monica! I forget, are your parents in Missouri? Good going on a good UD. I'm sure today will be a good, solid DD for you heading into the celebrations.

Your weekend plans sound wonderful! So nice to be able to have a way of eating that ensures you get right back on schedule - while still enjoying life and having fun - and eating great food with people you love IS fun!

I thought about making zucchini bread for this weekend, Decided not to. I have NO Restraint when it comes to that stuff. If for some reason, no one else is interested, I will eat it all! My Good Housekeeping mag this month had a wonderful article about Abstainers and Restrictors. Those that just restrict XX trigger foods and those that tend to Abstain. I am a total ABSTAINER! If I have a nibble of it, I must have it all. That doesn't mean I never EVER have XX, I just try to set it up that I can/will be limited in how much I can have. Here are trigger/abstaining foods for me:

M&M's most varieties, but PB especially. The PB M&M's are CRACK to me
Sweet breads (zucc/pumpkin/banana, you name it)
Cookies/cake

If I know cookies/cake are just for our family, I tend to make the GLUTEN stuff so I can't partake. I have made myself SICK before going back for more cookies/cake till it was all gone. I have a MAJOR problem with that!

What are you??? What is your trigger?

That being said, DD11 made a birthday cake for our celebration this weekend. I will have some and hope/pray that everyone else there (9 others) does their part to help make it disappear!

Oh yes, Sedalia! Beautiful area.

I'm hanging in there. Hoping for some decent losses soon. I don't think I'll go too crazy over Labor Day weekend. A little ice cream should be the most damage I do, but I'm determined to keep to my calories.

I know just what you mean about restriction vs. abstention. I have been an all or nothing girl for a long time. I think JUDDD is helping with that quite a lot, but there are still times. Peanut butter is my weakness. I love it by the spoonful. Often on an UD, I'll have coffee and a glob of PB for by breakfast or lunch. But occasionally, it gets out of hand and I go back for more, and maybe more. That adds up fast! Ice cream is another one for me, so I try not to have it around!

Have a great Friday!

I am/was abstainer. If I have a taste of nuts, nut butter, honey or yogurt I am in trouble. Having said that, being SLD has changed my relationship with these foods. I now I can have them in moderation but I am not getting to comfy with them yet
Seth Robert in SLD calls these type of foods ditto foods. You remember the taste and flavor of these and therefore they can raise your set point each time you eat them.

Enjoy your piece of cake, Monica. I am sure there will be lots of volunteers to finish the rest

Hey Monica I have to agree with Carol its pb on a spoon or maybe just the whole jar HEHEHE!!! I am a pb nut. I went on a bus trip and a man driver offered me on my DD pb m&m's, Red twizzlers, paydays, poptarts, peanuts, and then he wanted to go get supper. A wopper, frys and a shake and I just had a very large diet coke. It about killed me to not take any thing. Top it all off I still have not broke my big bounceing I started 2 weeks ago. I need to stay far far away from MSG.

Monica!

As you know, I've come to the realization that I have to be a complete abstainer with potato chips. And a restricter with more toxic work environments (maybe an abstainer from that too!) Crazy workplaces make me gain. Every. Single. Time. I also have to be an abstainer from overly crazy diets (or diets that aren't too crazy but make me have to count everything every single day). I can go off plan and get in a frantic frenzy to eat the weirdest things if I try to do any kind of diet too low carb or too restrictive. Not even high calorie things but a whole bag of apple chips or a massive amount of air popped popcorn. Any diet that puts me into a deficit of more than 2 pounds a week is a total no-go for me. My body revolts and takes my head (or at least the mouth part) with it.

You all are too kind! Not late Aleina, it is Thursday the 5th! I just celebrated with my family this weekend because that is when we were all together!

Well I ate my way through the weekend (I KNOW, I'm a broken record) but today is REFOCUS day for me and my whole family. I have thrown away ALL the chips and I am swearing off WINE for the rest of the month (actually all alcohol)! I am determined to regain focus and get these last few pounds gone!

Starting a new and feeling good. We are making today an up day, so sticking with our rotations as they are. Our schedules are dying down a bit and I am taking that opportunity to adopt a ZERO tolerance for excuses of why I go over my calories !!!

I will not weigh until toward the end of September. I am also hoping to get back to my weight lifting routines.

I love you too! Sounds like our triggers are the same, with the exception of Donuts! Never did like them and of coarse, now with Celiac, they are not an option!
