Up a pound today, this seems to be the trend the last few days after seeing a new low I will bounce back up a bit, and then down even lower the next day.

Blew it today Stressed out, Dr. appt today, BP was high and had a fast pulse. Also, Dr. wants me to get some spots on my hand checked by the dermatologist. Also, debating whether I want to make a court appearance with my son tomorrow or not.

Know the feeling Jeanie . I just told my husband the other day that I was seriously tired of waiting on everyone else! That's what I feel like sometimes....a waitress....trying to make sure everything is done and everyone is happy....and if you don't do it they look at you like "what's wrong with her!"

Dear Jeanie Don't give up! Forget about yesterday and try to do better today. I know it is not easy, but we have to keep on trying. You can do this, Jeanie!!!

I realize that eating wrong kinds of carbs is a culprit in my binging. Identifying the trigger foods is the key, I think. I also know that I can't go VLC for too long. I am now counting net carbs and following The New Atkins for a New You book. I want to know which foods cause the issues. That's why I am doing it all from scratch, adding new food a week and taking notes.

Don't give up Jeanie. I know you can do it!!!!!!

Had a scare yesterday. I was having chest tightness, my pulse rate was 100 and bp of 145/95. I took an aspirin and waited it out thankfully I felt better after a while. I need to find a quick read for my husband that convinces him that LC is a healthy way to eat, while all of this was going on his first thought was that my high fat diet was making me ill.

I have decided I am going to do a CAD max of one hour eat whatever I want meal every week or so. I ate some ice cream, cake and a couple of choc. covered graham crackers last night and woke up to only a .6 gain (I know some people say the gain comes the second day, but I know for me if there is a gain it is immediate). After fasting most of the day and drinking lots of lemon water I am back to the weight I was before the carbs, so I expect that I should be down tomorrow. Also I feel great exercised and not all depressed and anxious like I was in the days leading up to the carb fest.Now I know this would not work for me if I did it more often, I only plan to do this when the cravings become overwhelming as I know for me that once those thoughts and cravings kick in that eventually I will give in anyway. This feels like I am at least eating in a more planned controlled fashion. Ketosis and very low carb don't stop the binges anyway.

Thanks Marika. The fast (22 hrs. so far) is not intentional I just haven't gotten hungry yet. It is weird how sometimes eating carbs makes me ravenous while at other times it keeps me full for a long time. Funny thing is I always know when things are getting shaky as I will find that a high fat meal doesn't satisfy me or that I can't even face the thought of a low carb meal.

Down .4, lower than the weight I was at before the carbs. I am no longer going to fight so hard to not have some carbs when I really want them, I will allow the one hr. thing once a week if I need to but hopefully will be able to go longer periods without them. I definitely see a pattern in my way of eating and the thoughts and cravings that precede the binges, so rather than binge and binge some more I will try a more controlled planned approach.

Hi jeannie! I'm so happy to find your journal! congratulations on your .4 loss. This really is a journey and I think the way our brains are wired for dealing with hunger, cravings, etc. is all very, very complex. As you well know I too have struggled mightily trying to get back on some low carb plan and I just haven't been able to do it. Restricting fat as a main theme (WW) didn't work for me either. I know hormones are always at work and I think other mental processes are too. I seem to always have great difficulty in life with "restriction" as in: YOU CAN NEVER DO THAT/HAVE THAT AGAIN! I've tried and tried.

Anyway....

One thing is for sure - if we keep doing what isn't working over and over, nothing is likely to change. Let's both of us keep searching until we find the key, OK? Thank you for always being here to support me no matter what. Good luck to you on your experimentations!

Thanks DG for the support. I know others are thinking this eat carbs approach is going to backfire and perhaps it will, but I feel really good now so I'll take it. I think the key to my not losing control was that I ate almost zero carbs all day and then had the carbs as dinner so to speak. I ate nothing afterward and most importantly I didn't allow that old thinking that since I had some carbs I might as well give up and continue to gorge myself. I like low carb food most of the time, but without fail that forcing myself to eat another low carb meal when I know deep down is not going to satisfy me drives me to a binge. I know it not all about calories but when I eat this meal that I really didn't want to begin with and then binge the pounds really pile on.

I just hope we both can find a permanent solution!!

I am doing okay only very slowly losing due to the amount of carbs I am allowing,but it beats binging uncontrollably. I know for me I will never stop eating carbs so I may as well do in a somewhat controlled fashion vs. out of control sugar binges that could go on for days, now I just have what I crave when the feelings are overwhelming and fast somewhat to make up for it and move on, no more beating myself up over food.

I need to reevaluate this is turning into my old diet of too many carbs almost daily. I am feeling foggy and pessimistic clear signs of carb overload. I really don't know what to do as I know I won't be happy long eating very low carb???

Good eating past few days. Appetite is lessened but still felt a little pull when smelling the sweets in the bakery at the grocery store today. I think that was only because I was hungry for lunch. Steak, shrimp, chicken, eggs and a few pork rinds. I feel really good and am enjoying the food. I don't know why for the life of me why I can't seem to stay on this plan!?
