Howdy, howdy, howdy!

Today was weigh in #1 at WW and I was down 3.4 pounds!

What a relief! I did not in any way feel restricted or starved. I told myself if it is only a pound, you WILL celebrate! I didn't weigh here at home the morning of my first meeting so I wasn't sure how it would compare with my home scale today.

In a complete and total funk.

DH interviewed for a job that could bring him home today; same company, different division. We were so excited but the salary is 10-15K less than he makes now plus he would be travelling two weeks out of the month. Of course, he is living 2.5 hours away now but just not willing to go from worse to bad. So that made me sad.

DS left today to go get all his junk and work his last days at his job in Houston. I know he will be home in a few days but I like having people here. The dog just doesn't say much. Plus the weather is going to turn bad and he left this evening which means night driving. He is going with a friend of his but I am a first class worrier. Wish I could change that. Life would be so much easier.

Eating is going fine. Because I'm in a funk, as I was getting ready to head home from work, I felt the old pull to eat myself silly tonight. Briefly. Don't plan to do it, don't want to do it but it is interesting how quickly that urge appears when my mood goes south.

So already in my PJs, gonna get some soup, do some knitting and watch Biggest Loser. Party animal am I.

Aw Laura, I'm sorry to hear about the job situation with DH..that does stink. You're gonna have to get in line behind me for Numero Uno Worrier.. My DS isn't willing to pay for his apt if he isn't going to be there, I tried talking him into just coming home..I'm surprised I got him for 3 weeks as it is.. So, he's gone back to do spring semester and work the summer and then he'll be home. I thought for sure we were gonna get rain today it got so dark outside..then like usual the sun blazed all afternoon, darnit!

Proud of you for thinking things through and not allowing the munchie monster to take over. This is a total win!!!

Party animals think alike..I'm in my pj's already and I'll be watching TBL when it comes out in an hour

Ah shoot that sucks, Laura! Put your mojo out into the universe...new job, better pay, closer to home...if you believe it will come. It couldn't hurt...

Yikes the national weather this morning was talking about the heavy rains in Texas today and for the next couple of days...

I love having time to myself but I do hate being alone. Good for you for for recognizing the signs and planning to keep your mind and your fingers busy. I wish I had someone to teach me to knit. I've tried to follow the "written" instructions but me no can learn that way.

I'm also party animal...pj's and blankie and on the couch after dinner.

Hope today is a better day for you!

Hey friends! I am still plugging away. Lost 2 pounds Saturday at weigh in for a total of 5.4. BUT, kind of had a way out crazy day on Sunday. Tried to track it. Wasn't pretty but have gotten back on the horse. I'm committed to this, right?

It's sleeting and snowing here and I'm about to try to get to work. Yikes!

Oh sweetie, we're committed, alright.

I'm having my own struggles but I need to give it some time. It's new and I do go over points but I track it no matter what. It's like shining a great big spotlight on my transgressions and I don't think I like it. Maybe that's my particular "issue", I don't want to know. But I NEED to know or I won't be able to fix it... If I can fix it.

Good job, Blonde! And girl, please, if you could have seen the salad I ate at lunch today, your eyes would bug out. I had so much romaine that I had to eat it in two shifts! I'm a volume eater and I like to feel full. So I had a gigantic salad with taco meat, avocado and salsa. Happy, happy, happy!

Back two days in the WW saddle after running off the range for a couple of weeks. I really tried to convince myself this wouldn't, couldn't work and I should try something else. But my husband helped me realize that is my MO - start out strong then cut and run. Luckily instead of a 3 to 6 month crazy time, it was just 10 days.

I made a momentous decision also in this "lifestyle not a diet" I'm doing. I will no longer eat foods I don't like because they are low calorie or free. Just not gonna do it. I will use my points for foods I love.

So I'm back on track and needing to lose the pounds I gained. Bummer. But hopefully when my next crazy time rolls around, I will be down more than 5 pounds and it won't be so painful to pay back those lost pounds.

Laura, good for you!! I'm so glad you're back and in the saddle again. And you're right, 10 days is nothing compared to 3-6 months. I'm so proud of you and I selfishly jump for joy at having you back here with us!

I completely agree, do not eat food you don't like. I'm that way about salad dressing. I can eat FF sour cream and Greek yogurt and even FF cottage cheese and like it, but I don't like FF salad dressing and I'm not going to eat it on my salad. I prefer real eggs to eggbeaters and I'm not giving up bread, just eating GF bread, instead. Now don't get me wrong, I love the free food, but I like pineapple and bananas, I don't love apples unless they are in perfect season and crisp and sweet. One pithy apple will put me off apples for years! So what's your favorite throw together thing? I need ideas, being so boring with food for so long....

Glad to see you! I refuse to skimp or skip foods I like for the sake of calories. I think that's why I like JUDDD so much and why it seems to agree with my ole bod. I despise lf/ff cheeses, or ff dressings If I can't see myself eating certain things for life then I don't bother anymore. I'd rather take the hit on things and deal with resorting calories to make it fit my day.. life's too short to be eating only sub-par food!

Yes, definitely only eat the foods you love. For me, I don't care how healthy and good for me salmon may be, I dislike it. I can't convince myself otherwise.

Good Mornin' Ellgee!!! How's it going? I was wondering how you like your WW meetings? I'm doing WW online and I like it just fine. Of course coming here everyday is a lot like going to a meeting everyday. All of the support is so great. I did meetings many many moons ago (like 25 years?) but I kept forgetting to go. DOH! Meh.

Lost and unfocused. That's me right now. And the odd thing is that the tighter my clothes get the more unfocused I am! Seriously - I'm going to have to shop for a muumuu if I don't get this under control. Me at my daughter's wedding in a tent dress. Yeehaw that's real purty!

Hey girl. I saw your post in my journal so wanted to pop in here.

Have you thought about why you can't focus? Is WW too flexible? I'm sure you noticed that I tried to do JUDDD with as many carbs as I wanted for the month of Jan. I lost like 2 pounds, then gained them back, then stopped losing. I may have even had a net gain for the month. It's TOM so I'm up for the month, but I tend to go up at TOM. It's frustrating for sure. But I realized that I cannot have freedom of carbs and expect to lose. I just can't.

What works best for you? What do you want to do? You know you don't want to return to 309.4. You know you don't want to hate the wedding pics. You still have LOTS of time to make a change.

Amber thanks for your wise words. After talking things out with Blonde I realize I am under so much stress I cannot focus on ANYTHING. The program isn't the problem right now, it's me. I like the less restrictive programs. The minute you take some food away from me, I go cuh-razy!

I'm taking it one day at a time. I read something the other day that said if you are stressed about issues in your life you have three choices. Eliminate it. Change it. Or accept it. I'm working on this.
