Little bit of Trivia

I'm where I was yesterday. Woke up with terrible acid reflux last night, which is not normal for me. So bad sleep and unhappy tummy doesn't make for a good weigh in. At least I wasn't up.

The whoosh fairy finds us all in the morning

Hope Otis turns out to be what you're hoping Erin!

I like my yogurt with mixed berries and splenda, or pb and splenda. I like Cabot because it is super tangy. Any other kind just doesn't do it for me. lol.

I'm finishing up the cereal I bought probably this weekend, and the milk, and I'll probably go shopping Sunday and get a roast in the crock pot for Italian beef. Then Monday, off I go! Protein until Friday, I'm hoping. I'll probably make like meatloaf on a different day or maybe a pork tenderloin.

Sorry about the acid reflux, that is the total pits. I used to get it soooo bad until I switched to mostly low carb diet. What do you think was causing it?

Jessi, I'm not sure what creams she used but I do know that one of them was from It Works and I think the other was like an Olay or something.

You know I have no idea what caused it. I'm fine today, just a little left over sore throat, but last night it was so bad I almost though that my esophagus had ruptured or something. And I am not a delicate flower by any means The only thing I can think of is I tried a different wine but just an ordinary Cabernet

So it sounds like you'll be starting the Attack while I do FF. It will be good to compare results. Then hopefully I won't fall too far behind on vacation. Still planning on an attack when I get back. I just even get a kick out of thinking of it that way. I'm sure I'll get over that soon enough.

Good Morning Girly Girls!
Hope you both had a great weekend. We just worked on getting things ready for our trip. Finally found a pair of black sandals that were comfortable and didnít cost a small fortune.

I started FF today to hopefully shave off a few before we go. Are you Attacking today Erin? Howís your round doing Jessi?

How did it go with Otis, Erin?

aaaahhhhh I can't wait for him to come live with us! He's just a little sweetie pie. I'm not entirely sure of the next steps involved but they are bringing him next Sunday and I'm hoping it's permanent visit! If not I will be heartbroken. I will try to link a pic:

Not attacking today, have a few more items in the fridge that need to be cleaned out. I overestimated how much food I needed to get me through last week. lol. And now this weekend we are going camping so if I get around to any protein days this week they will be ruined by the camping trip. So it may have to be put off another week.

Yay for the new sandals! I did a bit of shopping myself, my work wardrobe was looking pretty sad. I better not have to go shopping now until January!!!

Well they're both pretty darn adorable. I take it Otis is the white and brown one? I'm telling ya, as much as I would like to do a rescue, with all the hoops they make you go through, if I don't find my next buddy at a shelter or Pet Smart I'll be looking private party puppy. I guess Iíve just gotten too old and cranky to deal with some fanatics idea of what Iím appropriate for. I canít do garage sales either. Just the thought of people going through my stuff and trying to bargain me down just makes my eyebrow raise. Iíd close the doors and haul the stuff the Goodwill first. See, cranky I tell ya.

I'm planning on starting the attack on the 12th or there abouts. Unless this FF really Wows me We'll see.

for Otis

I may be cranky but Iím still giggling.

Hahahahaha, Terri you are soooo awesome! I completely agree with you on the crazies making the decisions for the pets though... CLEARLY there is no better place for Otis than with Riley and her parents. (Riley looks like she did SOOO well!!!!!!! Tell us how it went; was she confused? Was Otis confused? They are both gorgeous, I'm so excited for all of you guys!

Terri, are you counting down to vacation??! Good luck on the FF!

Well, with the BF home this weekend I decided to let loose, haha. Friday and Saturday were low carb, no idea on calories, and included a LOT of vodka waters... I'm actually fine with it though. About a 3 pound bump when all was said and done, but I'm back on the wagon now. AND, this is the last week of summer for me, so I am traveling with him this week. Doing okay with meals, but I will probably indulge in some vodka waters again... I think it will be easy to hit it hard once work starts, and I'm happy to enjoy a little break with the BF before summer vacation ends!

Engagement pics are in a couple weeks, so I'm glad to at least be back in the 140's for them!

Yay for shoes and shopping!!! (and camping!) Any good stores with bargains that I need to check out?

That's exactly what I mean! And yet Erin still doesn't know if he's hers yet.

Yes totally counting down to vaca! You should see my lists. I hate to come back to a dirty house and with DH out of town this week, so I'm working on the yard too. Plus packing, etc. etc. You'd think I was going to be gone a month

Aaahhh I know. I got the feeling that basically they are going to let us adopt him. I washed a food bowl and rearranged the kitchen to make room for 2 dog bowls now, so I told my mom if they leave with him I have the food bowl ready to throw at their car when they drive away! lol. Unfortunately when we began this process we didn't know he was a rescue through a shelter, we thought he was a private adoption through his owners. He was found on the streets in Kansas City and the STL rescue group took him, was scheduled for euthanasia the next day in a KC shelter. So now he's being fostered. He is just a goofy little pup and Riley really didn't pay him any attention, you can really tell how mature and 'too good' she is for puppies lol. She only got cranky with him when he tried to hump her, lol she put him right in his place. They aren't entirely sure of his breed, they suspect he is part boxer/part catahoula. I can see where he would definitely get traits from both, boxers have a very distinctive play/combative style, hence the 'boxing', and he did the same thing that Riley does. They box with their front legs very quickly, it's hard to describe but other dogs that Riley plays with always get frustrated because they can't play the same way she does. Anyway, I think it will be a good fit for him, they really stressed the importance of him having mild mannered mentor since he will basically mimic Riley's every move since he cannot hear. He definitely got attached to her very quickly!

Terri I do the same thing. I scrub my house top to bottom before I leave on a trip. Doing it as we speak, actually! Going on a camping trip this week, don't want to go but already paid for. I'll be starting the attack on Monday I think. Finally whittling away at my food supply so by the time we get back from camping I can start from scratch again.

OH, and trying to get the building permit squared away, the house starts on Monday! eekkk!!!

Jessi, can't wait for engagement pics! You will look so fab! Good luck eating on plan this week, don't let the bf sabotage you! lol Where are you guys travelling to while he works? Oh and I just went shopping at Rue 21 and Penney's, I was on a discount hunt. lol. I hate spending lots of money on work clothes because I hate wearing them!

for Monday!! Wait until you see the foundation poured. You'll think "is this all there is?" It seems so tiny at that point. I'll never forget that.

Does Riley go camping? How come you don't want to go? Too much on your plate?

Hahahaha, oh my gosh I hope Riley is fixed! I bet she has figured out what's happening, just based on that extra food dish... she seems extremely smart! I can't wait for you guys to get him again, and for more pics and stories!

Oh my gosh, I also have to "nest" right before I leave! It feels SOOOO nice coming home to a clean house, where I then proceed to dump a weeks worth of dirty laundry on the floor...

BF is just working in West Texas right now, so it's pretty boring out here. I'm mostly just working on an online class while he's at the office. I heard there are sand dunes that you can sled on out here, so I want to try that!

I'm ALL about cheap shopping... I think 80% of my clothes come from Ross. I LOVE that store! And I've actually found some pretty cute stuff at Rue 21 before! My new school has a dress code for the students, so I'm waiting to go buy new teacher clothes until I know what the expectations are for teachers. Pleeeeease allow comfortable clothes!!! Haha

Terri, how is the FF going?

I ate WAY too much fat yesterday... I hate doing P2 while traveling! (Esp without a scale to shame me each morning!)

I have a crew in w Texas right now. It's been a combo of hot and dusty or flash floods. Needless to say they're none to happy.

FF is going well. I think I'm down about 2-1/2 in two days. I'm just hoping to hang on to it!

We have too much going on with getting this building permit going, which I am racing the clock, and I'd rather get Otis a few days early and spend the weekend with him. As it is we are short staffed right now so I'm not able to take off work Monday and I wanted to stay home with him and Riley. AAaaannnnddd on top of that it's supposed to rain all weekend. Riley can't go because we float in rafts and no pets allowed in rafts. Besides she hates water lol I don't know if I'll ever torture her like that again, she HATED the last camping trip we went on. Just not excited for it this time around. idk.

So I talked to the lady today about Otis, I asked her if it was too premature getting the house ready for Otis, and she said No, she thinks he is a perfect fit for us. So yay! I'm so excited! Jessi I think Riley already has it figured out because she has been especially smothering now, laying IN my lap as I type right now. That 70 lb lap dog she is, lol.

So yaya for you all doing so well!! I made a trip to trader joe's today, omg bought too many things that aren't Dukan approved, but I just HAD to have! tapioca pudding, whipped honey, cashews, hard salami. yummm!!!

Anyway what else is new with y'all?? Terri where are you going on your vacation, I forget?
Jessi I hope your dress code isn't too strict lol!! My work is pretty strict but they've been getting reaaallly lax and people pushing it and I've heard rumors they are going to start cracking down again, and I"ve heard they send people home! yikes!

Boy I get all that. I might be tempted to sub somebody in with Otis being tbe topper. Of course it's probably too late to change now. Hopefully you have a great time.

That's so exciting about Otis! Big congrads!! How old is Riley? Has she ever had another doggie? I wonder how my kitty will react when I finally get a doggie. She had one for her first year but she's a bit of a tweaker.

I love Trader Joes. Their Greek yogurt is to die for. Like you with your brand, I won't eat anything else. It's pretty tangy, you might try it sometime. My favorite is the 2%.

We're starting out at Zion State Park in Utah and finishing in Vegas to visit friends.

Happy shopping Jessi!

Okay ((drum roll please)) 3.7# in three days. I guess you could consider me Wowed. I find myself a little disappointed that I have to stop. Since it will be almost a week & a half until I return I may consider resuming then. Either that or the Attack. Will decide on what appeals most at the time. I'm hoping to do one final day. I'm at 140.7 today and it would be so sweet to see 139 before I leave. However there is a lovely bottle of wine at home calling my name. Hmmmmmmmmmmm wonder if I could get a wine cheat?

Woooot Terri! That's phenomenal! I love fat fast, I gotta give it a go again soon. For a wile I think I was doing them too often so they weren't working for me, but it's been ages now. I can only dream of the 130's!! Hope you hit your goal before you left!

Nothing new to report, ate horribly over the weekend which was expected, up a bit, did a protein day today (meat and egg, and some greek yogurt). Tomorrow will have to be a low carb day, my neighbor gave me some veggies from her garden and hate for them to go to waste.

And we got Otis yesterday! He is such a sweetie pie. So lovey. Right now I have the jealous beast (Riley) ON my lap and he is snuggling beside. He loves her so much it's sooo cute but she just barely tolerates him, lol.

So we broke ground today!! Here's where we are so far:

Attacking starts TOMORROW! I have a pork tenderloin marinating that will go in the crockpot while I'm at work, and I have a rotisserie chicken. Probably eggs or hamburger patty for breakfast every day, maybe some greek yogurt if I get sick of all this meat. lol. So attacking until Friday.

The rest of the foundation is starting tomorrow!!

We just got back yesterday so I'm still in recovery mode. I haven't completely decided to Attack or FF.

Do you go the very low fat on Dukan?

I'm probably what would be considered moderate to low depending on the day. Things that I'm allowing that are higher fat are butter or oil for cooking, tbsp of mayo here and there, bacon, and I will probably go back to high fat yogurt. No dairy other than the yogurt and the butter. I have to have 'some' fat because protein days suck if you are only eating super lean meats, kwim? I would say that I'm kindof meshing Dukan and Atkins in a way. Dukan doesn't allow mayo or anything, but he allows a lot more veggies than Atkins, which I really like so I can still eat corn and other higher carb veggies. I think he might allow sweet potatoes even? And fruit? I will have to get the book out again.

So far today I had bacon, scrambled eggs, some rotisserie chicken with a bit of mayo, and pork tenderloin for dinner. That will probably be my menu all week long. I haven't incorporated the 'oat bran' or whatever it is he recommends, I will probably keep that for my veggie and protein days, since I'm not really a fan of it and would like to mix it in with yogurt, which I also plan to keep on protein and veggie days only, or at least on my swing day Thursday. So far so good, hunger levels have shot waaaayyy down through out the day and my pork turned out sooooo good! Whether to fat fast or protein attack is hard decision!! haha! I find the protein attack easier only because you aren't limited on calories and the rebound isn't as severe if you fall off the wagon. And it's easy to cook up a big ol crock pot of meat lol.

This past weekend though is another story, went to the casino for the buffet, had some mcd's, and had some ice cream. Got some yummy foods I've been really craving out of my system!

How was your vacation???

Vacation was fabulous! Friday we drove to Zion, Utah (13 hrs), beautiful drive but . Saturday we did the tram though the park. I donít believe pictures can accurately show the majesty of the place. This was our hotel and some park shots.
Zion 006.jpgZion 141.jpgZion 032.jpgZion 038.jpgZion 088.jpg

Sunday we drove into Nevada, checking out several little towns on the way into Henderson (Las Vegas) to visit friends. We had a great Barbeque and then they showed us around the Strip, Boulder Dam and Henderson like a native the next day.
The Dam.jpgTerri.jpg

Tuesday we drove home through Nevada into Lake Tahoe. Wednesday we shook it off. DH had to work Thursday and Friday so I gardened and repacked. Saturday we drove up the coast to Fort Bragg and came home yesterday.

Zion 003.jpgPicture 092.jpgPicture 119.jpg

Hence recovery mode

Iím starting to feel the Attack now. With a little added fat, Iím thinking very doable. Iíve gained back almost all I lost on FF. But since its first day after vacation and crappy eating and right before TOM, I'm not going to stress on the number at the moment. I think Iíll just put in a couple good low carb days, get through the week and lunch out with the girls and then start something first of the week. Do you put anything in your coffee? I have the food lists for PP & PVs, I know I can make my schedule to suit me. Iím thinking PP Monday-Thursday, PV Friday-Sunday. What's a ďswing dayĒ? I have oat bran and flax meal if I want it. Anything else I need to know?

I donít know how I totally missed your foundation picture. What a beautiful lot!! So youíre country?

That looks like an awesome trip!! I love the pics you took at Zion, that is beautiful!! I may have to put that on my list of places to go! So did you do any gambling in Vegas?

Thursdays are can go either way for me, either PP or PV depending on food prepared, etc, so I just called it a swing day lol. I forgot to mention that I am going to keep HWC also in my coffee. So for dairy that's butter, HWC, and GY, going to try to keep it minimal. No cheese, cream cheese, etc. I'm going to have to get my book out again to see what is all on the veggies list but I remember he allows a lot.

The house is in a subdivision on the outskirts of town. Eventually the subdivison will go behind the house too, but for now and probably a long time we have a private back yard.

Nah, not much for gambling. If we do anything DH likes the slots and I like cards, which the other thinks is totally boring so we eat out and buy souvenirs instead.

Okay with HWC I can do this. I'm going to plan food & menus this week and start Monday. The way you do it sounds a lot like Meat & Egg Fast. I did real well with that too. I think the key for me is sticking with something long enough to accumulate losses instead of bouncing back and forth. Hopefully a little more structure will get me there. Iím going to try journaling my food and workouts to help accommodate that as well.

Thanks!! We are still trying to work out all the kinks and get on a good schedule here, but he is learning quick and is really a good dog over all.

I like the structure of this too, which is one reason why I chose it over regular ol Atkins or South Beach. Plus I hate counting carbs. I looked over the veggies list and it doesn't allow things I thought, but that's okay. He also allows low fat dairy, well....how about I limit the dairy but keep in the fat. lol. I agree, with hwc in coffee and butter here and there makes it much more sustainable. I think I'm already down 2-3 lbs the first day! Water weight, sure, but down is down! Basically the protein days are just meat and eggs, I just try to limit the fats a little more than I would usually.

I'm not much of one for gambling either, I hate losing money!

So here's to Dukan! Let me know if you have any questions about it, since I have a copy of the book handy. I don't know if you have Pinterest but I've found lots of boards to follow that have Dukan recipes on them.

Yep I'd rather limit dairy too. I think that's why M&E worked so well for me.

Here's to Dukan Off to read my food lists.

Good Morning!
How's the attack going?

I read over this lists again. I think my approach for the attack will be basically M&E with HWC. I'm not going to withhold fat like butter, mayo & salad dressing, but I'm only going to use "just enough".

I have been coming down about .5 a day since I got back from vacation just eating low carb. I was disappointed this morning that I was up instead. Then I realized I started working out again last night. So I got my exercise bump out of the way before I start the Attack. I also feel a little tighter and better today. That works!

Hope you have a great day!

Hey Jessi! How are you doing?

Day 4 down. Ready for it to be over haha! I love the proteins I'm eating but it does get old, today I dipped my chicken and pork in some mayo and a little bit of ketchup! Also I did have a small piece of chocolate cake (my boss is leaving to another dept, and another co worker going to a different company, so we had a mini celebration/sending off party). I don't think it will be enough to hinder me because my appetite has been absolutely nil so I haven't had much today otherwise. Dinner might just be a protein shake. I was 154 this am, I think I was almost 159 on Monday from my standard weekend bloat so I'm happy. I haven't seen 154 in a couple months. One more day!! Then I can eat some veggies, thank God! haha!
Your approach is basicallly what I'm doing too. Limit the fats, but don't cut them out all together. It makes it so much easier.
Sorry for the bump, but at least you know its the workouts!! I am too scared to incorporate those again yet, I always gain, gain, gain when I workout. I'd like to get to at least 145 before I try to start those again. For now sticking to dog walks here and there and walks on lunch break at work.
My plan for the weekend is bacon and eggs for breakfasts, and any leftover meats I have sauteed with some veggies. Maybe a chicken stirfry? Or some of the pork tenderloin with some cabbage. Will have to go grocery shopping for veggies this weekend!

Oh and here's where we were on the house yesterday. Forms were almost complete today. The house is going to be built up because of the walk out so what you're seeing will be surrounded by dirt (yard) eventually. Getting there!

Wow the house is really moving along.

Sounds like you're rockin' the Attack WTG!

I've decided to try my mild lift & squat routines and Pilates along with power walks at work with this "round". If it continues to work against me I'll reconsider.
