Happy new year!! I had a wonderful time with family..vacation time went too fast as it always does. It was so nice to be home with family and loved ones. As always, I struggled with staying on plan around all the good food everyone cooked so I did gain. I was up to 181.4, am now 176.6 as of today, so much bloat from all the wrong carbs and sugar (ate a lot of homemade cakes, pies, etc.). Plus TOM is here to help bring in the new year lol so hopefully more bloat will go away after this. I have to go back to doctor to test cholesterol in a couple weeks but I think I need longer to get back on track. Also today I return to weight support group at work to confess..the group leader sent an email yesterday reminding us to attend and said she's interested in seeing how we did over the holiday..oh boy..but I like the ongoing accountability.

First mini goal, return to the 160's again

I returned to work yesterday as well and my body is still not on work schedule yet so struggling. SO glad it's a short week! I'll try to get to other journals later today.

Welcome back Shari!!! So good to see you.. I am stuck at the same weight I have been for 3 months.. so tired of it!...

Up early because my oldest son's bball game is at 9am!! My youngest son's game is at 11. I soo wanted to sleep in today but I guess it's good because it will get me out early to run errands afterward so I can be back at home early this afternoon.

My sis is doing Atkins...she lost a good amount of weight following it loosely last year (30+ pounds) but gained it all back over the past few months after eating 'regular' food with boyfriend...she loves to cook so she was preparing meals for him that he wanted and eating along with him..lol. She asked for a partner for encouragement and support so I agreed to give lower carbs another try. I seems to not work as well as it did in the past but I remember reading somewhere that when you've done it several times, it can take awhile to show the same results as before but eventually you do lose the weight and inches like before. I'm adding JUDDD to the equation for the cycling purposes and the known health benefits of doing this too. I'm losing so it's working. Eventually I'd like to start exercising again, I was doing so well, but I don't want to burn out from doing too much too soon. But that's next... I feel better already...I tested using keto sticks and I'm in deep ketosis! Hello fat burner!!

Great Plan Shari!! I know you will do well.. LC is the best way of eating even if weight loss is slower than back in the day. I bet your sister is grateful for the support, and she can do the same for you...

Thanks Deb, yes the bball games were great although my oldest's team lost. But they were in great spirits. They were glad to see their friends again so they both spent additional time with friends while I ran errands (which they loved..lol). Picked them up later, completed homework then relaxed around 8pm. Long day, house is still a mess but I'll work on it through out the week. Today two games are all that's being talked about around here. Of course, my Ravens play so I'm already on pins and needles. My family and the boys, their father and his whole family are HUGE Redskins fans so they are on pins and needles too. I think my mom and brother alone will need antidepressants if they lose today They are out of control!!!

I ate salty buffalo wings late last night so no weigh in today cause I'm sure the scale is up...still in ketosis so I know fat is burning. I will check on sis later today and see how she is doing. Happy Sunday!!

I can relate for sure, I am the same way when my St Louis Cardinals play in the baseball playoffs! GO RAVENS!!..

Oh Deb, the Redskins lost so I haven't heard a thing from my family so I'm staying out of the way LOL. They need a few days I think. The Ravens won!! On the to second round...

Jayce, thanks..it was great, no complaints.

I now have even greater motivation to get the weight off. G and I are looking into taking a cruise in May. We purchased a cruise certificate a couple years ago while we were on our last cruise and it need to be used by the end of May this year. Also we're looking into taking the boys on their first cruise in December for my oldest son's 13th bday.

Gotta run, running late but will check in a bit later...hope you all have a great day!

Thanks for visiting my journal ladies. Yes, I'm staying away from Redskins fans..I haven't heard a thing from my mom and brother and my mom and I usually talk every day. I think I call and check on her today.

Cee..I forgot you're a fan too!! I teared looking at Ray Lewis..he will be greatly missed. He really pumped up the team..he was one of the reasons I fell in love with their defensive team years ago.

Yesterday we had a team retreat for half a day and I was faced with all kinds of sweets. Thanks to ketosis it wasn't even a challenge for me to not eat any of it...I was more uncomfortable that it seemed everyone was aware that I was the only one not eating any food. I had a big ole cup of tea with sweetner. Ate late last night and it was an UD so no weigh today. Still waiting to hit the 160's again but I am losing in smaller increments. I can tell inch loss already!

Whoo Hoo on the cruise, they are so reasonably priced these days it isn't a wonder that more of us do not get in on the band wagon. This cruise definitely sounds like the right motivation for you.

Inches add up to getting into to those smaller sizes so you will be well on your way Shari.

Listen, can you hear those waves slapping against that cruise ship?

Good morning ladies! I'm doing well, still on plan and loving Atkins again. Last week on 1/1 I weighed 181.4, today I'm 172! I was thinking that the loss was slow because I've been chipping at the 170's for a week but I forgot I lost a lot of water weight the first day. Hopefully I can be back into the 160's by next week.

G is going to put a deposit on a May cruise today!! I'm so happy and really motivated even more to stay faithful to Atkins and start exercising. We usually do a lot of walking and snorkeling on excursions and I want to be in shape. Plus the bigger picture is that I just want to have better health. It starts with the mental aspect of it all first.
