Thank you Shari.. It is tough for everyone, but we do it because we just have to. Right? I am back to work for 2 days, then I drive back to St Louis for 3 days. My sister who lives in St Louis is going on her dream vacation to Italy which has been planned for a year. So, the care is up to me and my sister who lives here and that I work with.

We will try to split the time as much as we can, but I know she has several meetings she has to attend being the boss and all.. I will most likely have the bulk of the time, but that is ok. The 2 hour drive back and forth has become routine and I don't even think about it.. I listen to ADAM!.. Gets me there in a good mood...

Her therapy is going great, she walked back and forth 3 times in the gym like area yesterday, and hopefully her night went better than before. My local sister is there today and tomorrow. Oh, and my birthday is Sunday!.. YAY.. I will be sharing it with my Mother in Rehab!..

On the weight front, I have lost 3 pounds in a week, that is good! Even with the strange eating habits I have to do, I guess I just am not eating as much. Anyway, it's all good! Hope all of you are doing well, when I have more time I will check in on you! THANK YOU ALL!! for your prayers and thoughts.. means so much!

Thank you hon!! I see you LIKED my Mom's banana tree picture!.. Those suckers are at least 2 stories high, it was hard to capture how big they are. They are gorgeous though, and my Dad always took such pride in growing them. I KNOW he was watching over them.... Since I am staying at Mom's while she is in the Rehab facility I am trying to take care of her garden.. HOLY SMOKES it is awesome...

On the other hand, our banana trees are at most 6 ft tall... I need to call on my Dad's help next year for ours...

Thank you Shari, Yes, it is on FB. I posted it from my phone, so I don't have it on my computer. I may download it though. I think when my hubby gets there this weekend, I will make him stand in front of them, so you can really see how huge they are...

We have a conference call today with all the sisters, and Mom,Doc, Nurse, and PT to let us know the plan.. I am really hoping she will be well enough to come home with help in 2 weeks. We have to coordinate someone being with her all the time. It is a chore, but worth her peace of mind knowing we are going to take care of everything.

Thank you Julie! Yes, finally something was organized because we felt like we were in the dark here. She will be getting her cast off and down to a half cast next Friday, thank the lord!! Then she will have use of both hands. That will make her life much easier.

She is going through therapy twice daily now, and by Monday it will be 3 times daily. They will work with her in their small mock apartment to get her used to cooking again, and other things we take for granted. Hope to take her home in 2 weeks...

Ok, I am baccccccccckkkkkkkkk for 2 days anyway... I found that when I sit on my rear all day for days on end, I tend to gain weight.. who woulda thunk?...

I am so stiff and blah after these past few days, but I will get better! I gained back the 3 pounds, plus some, but it will go quickly I am sure. I started getting my appetite back because Mom is doing so much better!!..

We hope to get her out of there by the weekend, and home. She is SO looking forward to that. Her darn arm cast is so cumbersome, that when that gets reduced to a wrist cast, she will be able to do so much more for herself.

She did manage to get herself into the bathroom all weekend alone. No waiting on the "help" to come. That was a huge step!.. She gets around pretty well actually for being 10 days out of a hip replacement and arm fracture! I am proud of her efforts!!

Thanks Patikins!.. I am happy she is fighting her way out of that joint!... We sat for breakfast with a little lady who broke her arm 4 MONTHS AGO, and is still there.. she is frail and has other things wrong with her, and no place to go after she is well. I felt so darn bad for her!

Mom said, thank goodness I am healthy... and she is! She has no underlying problems except this accident. This is great news for her recovery.

YES these darn pounds are temporary and I am not gonna sweat it!..

Had a nice LC day yesterday.. ended up around 35 carbs.. without even suffering...

I don't exactly know what plan I am doing now... probably nothing really since I don't know what day it is or where I am from day to day...... However, I am going to be mindful of how I feel when I do eat. I also need to get up off the chair and move more even though I do need to sit with Ma during the day when I am there. I guess when she is in therapy, I can do it too.......

You have a plan Deb, it's "Deb's Plan." I guess you could join in with your mom when she is doing her therapy, who knows maybe that would encourage her more in her recovery. Good to hear that she is getting the care that she needs and that you are there helping in her care. Happy Thursday Deb.

Thanks Shari, I agree that having family around makes a huge difference! She is doing so well, her therapy is going great, and we are hoping for a Friday release! She can go anytime, she is not a prisoner...

Thank you Maggie!! Yep, I am on Deb's plan and it is fine for now... I walked around the place today while she did her therapy and got some exercise... its huge!! I am so thankful for the help they have given her here, but I think she will do excellent in her own home with some home health care coming by a couple times a week. We will also be with her for a few weeks, taking turns. She just really wants to go to her OWN HOME!
