Flabazon to Glamazon
Hello LCF Friends!
![]() Welcome to PART THREE of my journey to reclaim my Glamazon status. You can find Part One right here: Journey From Flabazon Back to Glamazon And then Part Two is here: From Flabazon to Glamazon If you have no interest going through all that blah blah blah, here is the quick version: My name is Angela, and I live in beautiful northwest Oregon with my husband of 16 years, our 8 year old son, an Australian Shepherd and an African Grey Parrot. I'm a stay at home mom with a Costco addiction, but I also run my own historical costuming business. Okay, so it's just a glorified hobby. But, I love to sew and create costumes, and I know exactly how lucky I am to have the opportunity to do so. I have a nice life with no complaints. I am currently following a plan I made up for myself, taking the very best of what worked in the past and really sticking to it. I am doing a tidy little hybrid of the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet and Good Old Gold Standard Atkins. I am eating three low carb meals a day, photographing each meal, and reporting here daily. This is working for me. I love this plan, and here's why: *The food is glorious. So many options! *The food is plentiful. I am satisfied after every meal! *The food is actually food. No bizarre fakola stuff for me. *I can find my food in any restaurant or grocery store in the whole world. *I do not count any carbs. I know what a proper low carb meal looks like. *I don't care about calories. I eat as much as I want at each meal. *No weird schedules to keep, no up day down day, no cow pregnancy hormones. It's just real food, keeping me full every day. NO THINKING REQUIRED. *It has broken my sugar addiction. *It has destroyed my desire to eat and eat and eat some more. *I feel fantastic. *I fall asleep quickly and sleep, glorious sleep, all night. (Former insomniac here) *I seem to always be in a good mood, for which my family is grateful. *I am a productive human being again, sewing and creating and loving it! *I AM LOSING THE FAT So, can you blame me for ADORING this plan I have going? I didn't think so. I have a very long history here at LCF, but it wasn't until I started these journals that I began to find long term success. I am in a really good place right now, and I credit the amazing ladies who have joined me on this journey through our journals, and they have all become such dear friends. There is always room for one more! If you would like to chime in and join the fun, you are most welsome! |

Yes! Did I Waste too Much Time on the Internet? nope Do I want my golden years to be stolen by degenerative frail health and immobility? NO! Do I remember that a simple planned camping trip “cheat” punted me into 3 months of struggling to get back on plan, feeling like crap, and regaining nearly all the pounds I just spent a whole year losing? YES! Am I fully aware that eating outside of my regular 3 meals will jeopardize everything I’m working towards? EVERYTHING. Family: I’ll be irritable. Business: I’ll be unproductive. Health: I’ll get fat and lazy again. Seriously. Don’t go there. Ever. Yes! Am I still damn mad, focused and determined to do what it takes to regain my Glamazon status? HELL YES! Notes: *Yes, I had sweetener today. I’m not a big fan of plain yogurt, and I forgot I just don’t like that tang. But, since I already mixed it up with my precious REAL coconut milk, I didn’t want to waste, so I added just a bit to cut the tang. It worked, tasted really good, but I still found it a little sweet. If I make it like that again, I’ll lessen to ¼ teaspoon and see if that cuts the tang enough for me. The sweet breakfast did not make me crazy for more sweets or more food in general—I was watching carefully and I was fine. It wasn’t as thick as I’d like it, I’m wondering if a little melted coconut oil in there would firm it up a tad?? Hmmm, something to try tomorrow if the scale is kind in the morning. My Positive for the day: My bra cups do not runneth over! YAY! Successful Day Count: 43! |

I get to be first since it is 2 AM on the East Coast and not all that late here!!
I know this is THE YEAR for you Angela and will continue to look forward to seeing all of your yummy food and how well you do! I had lunch at Kahala Hotel today - really good salad. My friend said I looked as if I had lost weight - that is always nice to hear. I do know my clothes are fitting looser, so that is an indication that something is happening. Tonight was another dinner party out with a lot of good wine, but the food was low carb!! Sleep tight Angela, dear... See all of you in the morning.... Hugs to ALL ![]()

Yay - a new journal!
Ang, I've been meaning to ask - What does the Resveratrol X1 do for you? Dr. Johnson of the JUDDD diet is a proponent of this and I have no idea what it's for. Last edited by janetsbreeze; 01-12-2012 at 06:11 AM.. |

Congratulations on the new journal, Angela! You are an inspiring and beautiful woman. Can't tell you how much your "get with the program long time posers" resonated with me. Thank you! By the way, any hints on aviator pictures. I've tried and it keeps not letting me upload.

Evening, Angela!
Wow. Congrats on your third journal. That's awesome! You are such an inspiration and it shows. Must admit though, that I hadn't made it to your journal in a few days and didn't know this was in the works. I actually clicked out of it the first time thinking that I had actually tapped on page 1 instead of last page from the main journal page. Went back again and then saw no page options and was confused for a few seconds. Then figured out what must be goin on! Lol I will try to get back tomorrow to catch up on what I have missed. I need to get to bed. Nighty night! |

YAY all my ladies found me.
Justice, looks like you figured it out! You look great and what a cute wubbie! Thanks for the kind words, they mean a lot to me! We are both long time posers. TIME TO QUIT POSING AND GET TO GOAL! Hi Missy! I look forward to getting to know you better and hearing what you have to say! Super chic hair cut, btw. Thanks, Dani! All you ladies inspire me in everything I do here. I owe you guys big time! SB... ooooOOooo lamb chops. Hope they were good! Your luncheon at the hotel sounds glamorous-- and your friend noticed weight loss! Yippee! Hope you had a lovely day on beautiful Oahu! Hi Diva! I love the coconut gunk, but if it stalls me OUT IT GOES. I have a zero tolerance policy for stalls. A few days, no biggie. A few weeks, my butt is going to get kicked. By me. How goes the swans?? Hi Cara! Thanks! The photos are very motivating for me. It's helping me think more about my meals and try not to be so boring! Hiya Nancy! My plates are 10.75" for the big ones and 8" for the little ones. I suppose it's kind of hard to tell because I crop them all the same... I think from now on I will add a fork or something to the pic to gain perspective. I'm sure some of you are thinking I eat some pretty huge stuff!! lol Hi Meg! When I was a Carb Queen I ate my sugary yogurt loaded with granola, I loved it that way, and when I went lc I missed that crunch, and found the coconut was a good replacement. Tastes so good!! But, I'm a coconut lover and love all things coconut. Hi Janet! The resveratrol is supposed to be an antioxident made from red wine or some such. Does it work? Hell if I know. I can't feel any difference, but I assume it's doing it mysterious little job inside me somewhere. I'm just trying to free up some cupboard space and use up the rest of this bottle I have! Hi Kristi! Eh, I dunno about that, I still have a long way to go-- BUT I'M GOING! Thanks, Sandy! Go! Go! More Pounds! YEAH! Kitty & Amber, are you kidding me? The coppers are going to shut this one down looooong before I hit goal-- we are way too gabby!! Good night, KCMama! Glad you found me! Last edited by glamazon; 01-12-2012 at 09:04 PM.. |

GO AMBER!!
![]() I quite smoking 6 years ago. It was REALLY hard to do! The thing that made me quit was getting a really bad case of broncitis that made me cough my head off and lose my voice for abut 3 months. After that I couldn't stand to be in the same room with someone smoking. It would just throw me into another coughing jag. That's me - having to learn the hard way! Then I was diagnosed with diabetes in June of 2010 so I gave up drinking because it was making me real sick. That's when I started checking out low carb and I have excellent blood sugar numbers now. My last frontier is excersize, so I can feel good and keep walking until I croak from old-old-OLD age! ![]()
