Have a great day, Diva! Are you teaching a pig to sing? I've heard that's a bad idea.

Oh, Amber, I most certainly do need smaller jammies, but not sexier ones. My husband can't keep his hands off me as it is, with sexy jammies I'd never get any sleep!

----and the problem with that is???????? LOL

Yeah! When I read your comment about this my thoughts were, well what's wrong with that???!!!????? I feel ya tho, I seriously need new jammies, I think I've had the same ones since the dinosaurs roamed. I always find other ways I'd rather spend my money tho, and hubbs doesnt seem to care one way or the other either.

DH has finally conceeded that we *have* to start going back to Costco (as I was jumping up n down in my mind) for groceries and such....the grocery just doesnt cut it on most things for quality or cost. YES!

Of course we don't have a Costco in our small town. There is a sam's club in Athens, but no Costco. I have never been to Costco! I am SSSSOOOOOOO deprived!

Hey Ang....work on your new costume coming along pretty good...?

Oh hey...
I kind of feel weird in that group...everybody's working so hard to lose pounds and I'm not doing that. The weight has been the same for months, give or take one pound and that's really my goal, to stay at goal. I feel bad not contributing anything useful to the weight goal.

I play piano for a ballet company and play for my students, but mostly teach voice. My performance career was in opera (I'm semi-retired to raise my family...almost done with that!) and I direct shows, conduct and teach private voice lessons these days. I love my piano. It was a 25th wedding anniversary gift, so I've had it for about 6.5 years. It's a Yamaha C-3...conservatory quality small grand.

Well it wasn't so much as a win kinda thing...it was based on Bryan's work. The guys all were awarded "points" based on client stuff/performance... making appointments, client showing up for scheduled appts, points for each sold unit, attendance, etc.... it was based off of a 6 week period and he ended up with $2800.00 based off of $1.08 per point. And trust me, we spent it ALL!

My DD is 7 and has been taking piano for two years. She can't stand practicing, but I want her to stick with learning the piano so bad. I took some as a child and a little as an adult, so I guess I'm living my dream through her! I believe that she will thank me one day for making her take.

Her piano teacher has a small grand. I don't know by whom, but it sure is pretty! Just like yours.....

Any advice on making practice fun?

Afternoon, Ange!

Just saw the amazing cape you did for Amber. Kudos. ( was going to say "bravo" but my Italian is not up there. I'm a French major)

We have both Costco and Sam's here. Two of each within about 5 miles of me lol! I belong to Sam's but have received a couple of gift cards to Costco. What items are must have items from Costco? Do you get them because they are much better price there than at other stores or just because you tried a sample, etc.? Would appreciate any advice. I am trying to look at items that will give me best bang for my buck. Don't know if I will be able to go in and shop more than once or not.

I am reading your journal backwards and just got to see photos Diva posted. You look fabulous! I love, love, love that black dress! Your Nutcracker photos were nice as well. The KC Ballet has a new home this year but we didn't make it. Maybe next year, though.

Oh hey! I'm in KC also! The new hall is fabulous. I was on my way to Helzberg Hall for the symphony in the pic in front of the piano. The Nutcracker pics are at Yardley Hall, JCCC.

Piano is good training for everybody. There was a time when all people had to learn to read music....it wa considered part of literacy. The world would be a better place if it was still like that

Making practice fun....kids need to be able to work on music they want to play. Not all the time....technique and exercises are important but the enthusiasm comes from the joy in making music that you love. So I made my kids do their scales and arpeggios first for a given amount of time and then allowed them to work on something they really wanted to play.

Meg, we just need to get you to relocate...(like Sam Kinneson said, who you're probably too young to remember..."Go where the food is")

Amber, you can take me off the chart yes...I probably will not remember to update it and hope that it will not contain any new information It won't...I got this one. I am stable like a big ole rock and will not allow it to be otherwise That is so exciting about your boy! Horn is so great. Nice that he sings also!!
