Sending a special hug and love

I was just reading on another post about L-Glutamine and how it is supposed to inhibit sugar cravings. I think you have Julia Ross's book "Diet Cure". I know it was discussed some time ago.

EVERYONE really missed you and worried about you. SO glad to see you back here.

I am crabby as ****. I took all my vitamins and supplements and soaked up some nice crispy spring sun and I'm still crabby as ****. I need to stay away from my family so I'm holed up in my sewing room being crabby as **** all by myself.

****. I am just not fit for any real life human interaction. I hate feeling this way. I feel toxic.

(((((((((amber hug)))))))))

Detox. Detox. Detox.

Making dinner now-- giant loaded taco salads minus the taco. Lettuce, tomato, homemade salsa, cheddar, beef, cilantro, onions, sour cream... my dang avocados are still not ripe, so I have to suffer through an avocadoless salad. Meh.

I just bought them yesterday, SeaBreezes! The bananas are working their magic, but not fast enough for my crankypants salad.

A good avocado is pure silky smooth creamy heaven, packed with nutrients. A bad avocado is completely disgusting. When you pick out an avocado, do it by squeezing very gently. If it is hard as a rock, it is unripe and will have to sit on your counter for a few days to ripen. A perfectly ripe ready-to-eat avocado will give ever so slightly with a gentle squeeze, but still be firm. If you squeeze and it is soft or mushy, AVOID and do not buy. I usually buy a bag of them from costco and they are always unripe-- this is good. They sit on the counter until ripe, and then they immediately go in the refridgerator. Being refridgerated will stop it from ripening any further and they will keep at the perfect ripeness for much longer, allowing me to use them in a nice timely manner. Slice around the seed lengthwise and twist apart--- the seed will be left in one of the halves. If you are saving some for later, save the half with the seed in it-- it will keep better than if you take out the seed. If you open it up and it's brown and gross, don't eat, or cut around the bad parts. Guacamole can always be made with an avocado that's a little too far gone. A really gorgeous avocado will be clean and creamy green on the inside, easy to peel, and not taste "watery." You may have to do a lot of trying to learn what makes the perfect avocado. Poor you. They are awesome in salads or plain with a sprinkle of salt.

hmmm. I have no idea why I decided to teach Avocado Loving 101.

Thanks, Mama! Day one is down.

I had a dessert-- adorable little raspberries smothered in heavy cream and sprinkled with a little Steviva. Heavenly! Felt very decadent eating them. I feel better.

Hey sweet cheeks! I woulda been here sooner but I've been in the shower the last 48 hours, shaving. Jasus, Mary & Joseph. Did I REALLY have to grow all my hair back after chemo? It came back with a vengence. It's name may now be "Die Harder" like from Bruce Willis flicks...but I'm a smooth Hairy Heffer (sp?) now!

So sorry you feel this way and had the unfortunate sexual experience with the doughnuts. You know, I think every one of us can relate! Hell, I admit to being only one bad test result away from a resumption of my dreaded Make-A-Wish Diet. So I completely understand! And have been there, done that!

I'm so glad you found your way back to us. You CAN do this hon. Just one tiny baby step at a time. They are the hardest steps of all. But before you know it you will be doin' the Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer Shuffle, "Put One Step In Front Of The Other..."

I know you can do this. The mom stress...well dang. It's so hard. So hard. I'm so ashamed to admit that in some ways, things are so much easier now with Mom being home with Jesus. I'm ashamed. I know you don't wish that for your mom, I'm just meaning that for you it's even harder because you are the primary care giver. And that puts an inordinant amount of pressure on you!!!! So hard. Saying prayers for you my friend!

One thing I will just tell you. Stuff yourself. Do NOT let yourself feel hunger right now. Eat big, greasy, protein packed meals that leave you with a full belly!!! Maybe put the fruit away for now and sub it out for SF Jello with real whipped cream mixed in, or sour cream even! Do it. Do it for YOU, Ang. Not your son. Not hunka-hubby. Do it for you. Cuz you deserve it. And no *effin* doughnut can love you back like you can love yourself sweetie! Crack is bad. Umkay?

You are very welcome, my dear........I didn't mean to make you cry - just wanted you to know how special and worthwhile you are.

So glad to see you back here. Your Avocado 101 lesson was perfect. I grew up with avocado sandwiches as a little child. Have ALWAYS had them. We also buy the bags from Costco and have one most days. The Haas variety, which is in season now, is the best, I think. The others are not as good, but still very edible. Have you ever had the ones from Hawaii? They are huge with a tiny seed. They are like a rock all of the time, so have to stick a toothpick in them to see if they are ripe. A friend has a tree and doesn't like them so I get hers. Yay!! Hubby likes to cut up one and put it in his eggs along with bacon and cheese.

Hope today is a another one filled with yummy food and happy thoughts.

I seem to be waking up very early these days.....not sure why, but assume it is because I have not been eating carbs. Have a very busy day so hope I don't fade too soon.

Hugs

Avocado 101- man that is a good thing, there is no greater love than a perfectly ripe one, OMG delish!!! And when I can find them for cheap life is good!!!!

Glad you got through day 1 it all gets easier now! Family stress is tough we are watching Nan go downhill we are all trying to help and take her for a week at a time so no one has too much stress, it is hard when it all falls on you, I know you are close by and take the weight of all her issues on you. Hang in there hun, you will get through it!

Mmmmm avacado. Seriously kitty - you have never ever had one? Follow ang's wonderful directions and get thee to a store!

Hahaha fukitol pills. Never heard that one before but man it cracks me up. Someone keeps slipping them into my coffee. Barstards.

Woo on the one step at a time, arse planted on LC approach. The cranky wench mood will pass.
