Ok I'm gonna go on record as saying I don't reckon fat fast is a great fit for ang imo. With the deprivation feelings and associated rebounds that seem to occur I reckon just adding in more fats and keeping nicely on plan is the best for now. Fat fast is for when you're stuck and looking for a way to kick start the loss again. By all means add in some of the tasty FF snacks though.

Hope you're having a good busy easter ang! I'll put on my dominatrix outfit complete with leather boots and whip and scare those carbs away from ya haha

Thank you thank you thank you! Hope you all had a lovely holiday. Me? SICK. AS. DEATH. WARMED. OVER. So is my husband, so is my son. Son got it last thursday and missed two days of school, and there was no way I wasn't going to comfort him, so I got it, too. Then Hubby. IT IS SO GROSS! Head cold, chest cold, sneezing, fever, chills, misery. We've been doing nothing but sleeping, staring at the tv like brain dead zombies, moaning with misery and looking like the saddest family in all the world. This is one awful virus that is just not being killed! It's just hanging around and hanging around. *cry*

Anyway, haven't felt much like eating, but what little I'm eating has been low carb and high fat--- eggs, avocado, chilled coconut milk (like pudding!) and celery/cream cheese. Blah food, but all on my plan. Tiggy is right, no fat fast for me, but Glenda I really appreciate the high fat snack ideas-- thank you!! You are very kind to post all that. Definitely a regular Atkinsy low carb plan for me, just reducing the protein cals a bit and replacing with fat cals. So far it's working like a charm. Granted, I haven't been eating all that much, but I've lost 12 of the 30 I gained already. Blotation device jettisoned!

I can't wait to feel better already, supplies are dwindling but I'm afraid if I show up at the store they would shoot me on sight and think the Zombie Apocalypse has started already. ****.

Ug sounds like a nasty bug bit you guys. At least its all at one time and get it over with right. Ya perhaps starting the zombie apocolypse by going to the store is not a good idea. Instead of the 'rage virus' you have the 'snot virus'.

LOL bloatation device. Even when you are a sick snotty zombie you are still funny as heck.

Feel better soon!!

Good morning, Ladies! Thanks for the well-wishes! Unfortunately, I still feel asstastic. Craptacular. Yucky. Apparently it's a 5 day bug, my son is feeling good and back to school today-- poor little dude. He has not missed one day of school in almost 2 years, and BAM, he's out three and a weekend. My 5th day is tomorrow, so this thing had better DIE!!! DIE!!! DIE!!!! already. Weight down to 263 from 276, so loss is going well, but I am totally bummed that I can't taste anything. Nothing. Coffee might as well be hot water, food is just gunk in my mouth. It's depressing. Nothing can kill an appetite faster than food without flavor. Blargh.

I know how you feel. DD's friends are all on round 2 of the stomach bug this week. Ick! She had it last month, so I'm trying hard to keep her healthy for her Communion this Sunday. What up with these boomeranging germs??

I TOLD YOU NOT TO HUG ME!!!! That bug was bad. So bad. I'm sorry Kitty, hope you get well soon!

Thanks, Ladies, for checking in on me! I've been sick all week, a complete waste of humanity. Son is totally fine-- that little bugger recovered swiftly, us old folks are dragging. But, I'm almost out of it.

On the bright side, I have lost 15 pounds in 11 days. Hurray for being sick?? I was still eating, just not very much. I believe it has broken my mindless eating machine mindset and I'm only eating when hungry. That feels good, for sure. While sick I did eat some fruit and some soups that weren't considered LC, but didn't care. Lost weight anyway, because I wasn't over eating.

Well, feeling better now, and just going to roll right back into High Fat/ Medium Protein/ Low Carb and only eat when actually hungry. The dreaded CARB THRALL is gone, so I can think clearly now and I'm no longer depressed. Man, the Carb Thrall really physically depresses me. I have GOT TO STAY OUT OF THE THRALL.

Hope everyone has a nice day!

Thank you, Ladies!

Heh heh heh I have FOUND THE MALE LOW CARBERS!! We all know this board is predominately female, and I always wondered where the males were. Well, they are all over on Reddit. (If you are not a natural born Redditor, do NOT go over there. Seriously, don't do it. You will lose years of your life lost over there, being entertained or horrified, you can never tell what you'll find.) They are all in a sub-reddit called r/keto, and man oh man are they different than LCF. I love it! Those dudes (and some dudettes, of course) are seriously no-nonsense and totally loving the ketosis lifestyle. There's no wall of text whining or "poor me! It's not working! I just ate a whole cake! Give me love!" *cough*glamazon*cough* Allow me to give an example of a welcome message a newbie got when he introduced himself to the sub-reddit, telling us that he was in a changing room and cried over how awful and huge he was and was ready to make the keto leap:

Quote:
HEY MOTHER ****ER.

6 MONTHS AGO I WAS CRYING IN A CHANGE ROOM BECAUSE I WAS REALLY FAT.

LAST MONTH I WAS CRYING BECAUSE I COULD SHOP IN THE NORMAL PEOPLE STORE AND THESE PANTS ARE ALREADY ****ING LOOSE.

KETO ****ING WORKS.

GET YOUR ASS TO THE BACON, BEEF, FISH, CHICKEN AND VEGGIES STORE.

YOU'LL BE AWESOME IN NO TIME.

**** BREAD.

**** FRIES.

**** CHIPS.

AND YOU CAN **** *****ES.

Edit: Sorry, I just got off the phone with my ex so I'm a little hyper.
Yeah, well, without the censorship. I loved it! (Well, I am fond of profanity, so there's that.) So to the point! "Get your ass to the bacon, beef, fish, chicken and veggie store" indeed. They don't have battling diet plans, JUST GET TO KETOSIS AND STAY THERE. DUH.

They have all the guidelines and recommend Gary Taubes and Dr. Atkins for more guidelines, and are always pushing the fat and a lot of damn good common sense. Ha, they even link to Linda Sue's recipe website. They are not as in depth, informative or loving as LCF, but they get the job done, man-style. It was so worth it for me to browse through there and see some different approaches.

But seriously, unless you are strong as an ox, do NOT go over there.

Was wondering where the guys were. Sure we have some, but where the. Others were. Thought maybe they were more likely to lurk and not speak up? So, they have a spot to get to the LC talk! Yay!

woo ang, our LC explorer! So there really more than 20 guys in the universe doing LC (ok there's a whack of primal ones but not here of course). Saying we shouldn't go there is soooo like a dare.

But only after I get this uni paper done. I shall reward myself with some "get your ass to the beef bacon and veggie store" entertainment. I love it here as well, but I totally know what you mean about the style of posting here on the ML.

Feeling better I take it?
