Hey Ang....
I LOVE boiled peanuts. I like them cold better than warm. I wish I could send you some. We have them everywhere down here in GA!!!! You can also do you own. It takes a lot of time, but so worth it!!!

On the ironing note, I iron almost everything..... I can't stand wrinkled clothes. I had a Rowenta a few years back, and that dang thang caught on fire!!!! My money went up in smoke literally!!!!

GOOOOOD MOOOOORNING!!

Was that Pooti who popped in and out?? YEAH! I missed you, Pooti. Come in again!!

My pan is heating up for my regular exciting bacon and eggs-- I suppose I should cook something more interesting, but no. Too much to do and just don't want to think. You should see my list today-- LCF is listed!! I have another 10 minutes to catch up then I'm out until tonight.

Rowenta irons are just the WORST. They are riding on an old good reputation they earned long long ago, before they sold out to cheap Chinese construction, now everything they make just breaks down in less than a year. That has certainly been my experience, and after all the $$$ and ruined fabric, I am so done with them. If they only charged $20 for an iron, they'd be a good value, but they have a lot of nerve charging quality Euro prices for cheap materials and careless labor.

Rachel, did I mention you look freaking FABULOUS in that lime dress? Wowza!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! I'm still setting up an ironing station, my husband helped me hang rails for it so the iron can reach my entire cutting table, which can conveniently convert into a pressing table-- 40X72 inches! WOOOOHOOOO! That will make creating more Wonder Woman Capes a piece of bean cake. LOL!!

Thanks, I will be changing my picture to show my parka and turtleneck sweater that I am wearing dealing with 10 inches of snow.

I am glad you are finding balance with work, creativeness and support here. I have missed your wit an humor. Glad you are back. Don't you love a husband that helps you with making your daily work life easier. Not everyone has one like that. I have a presentation tomorrow in front of a crowd of 60. It has been years since I have done something like that. I usually have group workshops of 8-10. My hubby just called and told shared with me what strengths he sees in me. I have a keeper here to. Just if we could move to a warmer climate!

Have a productive day!

Well lookie--there's Angela! It's an Angela sighting!

Color me jealous of your ironing station. I love to iron, and I iron all my jeans and cotton shirts and such. Ironing soothes me, somehow.

A lot of my clothes are knit and jersey and such, and I also have one of those big professional steamers for those. That steamer is possibly the coolest thing I have ever bought--makes everything drape and hang so beautifully. I use it pretty much every day.

My ironing station, such as it is, is in my garage. There is nowhere inside this house where I have room to leave my ironing board up, and I know that if I have to set it up every time I need to touch something up, it won't happen.

Gotta admit--I have a Rowenta and I love it. It's pretty old, though--maybe it predates the Chinese-made ones?

Have a great day, Angela!

I too love the way they work. Got a fancy floor model that worked so well until the hose broke

Hurry back Ang!

I iron my husband's dress shirts, even the ones that say "no iron". Have also finally had to do the same for ds 15 as he occasionally has to dress up for swim team meet days or homecoming, etc. Also iron dh's khakis and some of my dress shirts. I don't mind ironing, but I have to have an area dedicated to the ironing board. I am really lazy and hate having to drag it out and put it away after each use. I like the smell. I do not dry my clothes in a dryer-- only do cold air fluff and then iron them immediately when the cycle ends. However, I do not iron sheets and towels!

Ha! Forgot to say congrats on the new iron, Angela! Does it have a really really long cord that swivels? How did you find it? Some cleaner outfit go out of business?

Missing Ang as well! Understand the need to put priorities in order. I have some cleaning to do.

Presentation went well. I had one point where the coritsol flooded my brain and I went blank, but my co-worker just right in and took over. Love when that happens, but picked right up where I went blank......had good feedback from the people. We will shift into group processing and that is where my skills are.

Off to clean house and spend day with my daughter as she has the day off. Drinking green tea and not feeling like staying on plan, but will because I choose to!

maybe liking the ironing is a KC thing, mama

Not much news from here. Just thought I'd pop in and say HEY to all y'all. (Amber...1 tsp of cinnamon, a little extra sweetener and 1 capful of maple extract in the protein pancakes. OMG doooo it) And Angela, I'm up to my ears in net. It will be months before there's anything to show from Swan Lake but I am going to make a non-Swan Lake tutu just to make sure I've "got this thing"...which I should have done fairly shortly. I will send you a pic of that. 100s of yards of Balanchine Net+Feathers by the pound+Blonde Soprano pulling out hair=Swan Lake.

Hi Angela,
I was missing you so last night stayed up and read your journal! I think it is so neat that you are reading Harry Potter to your son, you are a good mama! I read the Tolkien books to mine when they were little. In fact oldest son's middle name - Aragorn. Then he named his son Noah Theodon and his daughter Hannah Edoras. We are Tolkien fans here! That reading was always such a special time for me and my boys. Hope you have a great day!

That is so cool, Ang and Witty. I have such fond memories of my mother reading to me. That is where I got my love for books. She read lots of books to me - Black Beauty, Robinson Caruso, Heidi, 20 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, The Hobbit ... lots of books. I think it is wonderful to create those great memories - you never forget that special time. She also taught me to sew and to cook at a very young age. I made cherry pies in my little oven and clothes for my dolls. All very special memories.

yeah...I really dig the Salted Caramel syrup. Is yours Da Vinci? Mine's Torani. Didn't know Da Vinci had that flavor.

The reason I use the maple extract in the cinnamon pancakes is because it makes them taste like I made them with brown sugar.

Hey Annnnnggggggggg! Does your ironing station include S/M stuff and handcuffs? Cuz I don't know...but an ironing station sounds scarily painful to me...maybe you can't come play cuz you're all "tied up?"
