Join Date 03-13-2006 .. WOW.. 6 years have gone by and I am still at my heaviest

I may even weigh more today then I did back in 2006...

I know what to do.. I know I want to do something about it.. I know I have the support of family and friends... I know God wants me to do better...I know he is here to help me...I know my kids would like a healthier thinner mom...I am sure my husband would like the same.. I know I would LOVE that as well.. I know I want to be able to do more things.. I know I want to buy cuter clothes.. I know I want to live to see my grand kids grow up (when I have them )...I know I want to do so much more then I can now..

So... 2012 is going to be about me... figuring out why I do this to myself.. why I can't stick to healthy eating.. why I don't think I deserve happiness.. why am I hiding from myself and others.. why I hold things in.. and much much more..

Going to be working on my mind..body and God already has my soul.. so he will be with me on this Life Change..

today I was in a rush and forgot all al about eating breakfast... I was worried about making sure I had enough to eat at work.. seeing as I no longer live just down the road..lol..so I grabbed a can of progresso lite.. the clam chowder and some 98% fat free hot dogs.. and some Arnolds buns.. I wanted to bring in a orange as well.. but forgot that.. so I just got hungry again and had 2 more hot dogs.. .. tonight will be a salad from subway..

not tooo bad.. will prepair better tomorrow..

ok.. I am going to go for now.. tune in for more later.. ..

Love, love, love the new journal name. I think you just might be onto something here. Maybe we try to compartmentalize (spelling?) our lives so much that we sabotage (spelling?) ourselves? I thought we had spell check .... arghh!

Anywhoo, we shall take it one meal at a time.

Well hello there!

Nice title! I need to work on all these things, too. And I think I do the 100% on or off thing, too. Just started it recently. Almost like an excuse, 'cuz once I mess up, I keep messing up the rest of the day. What a smart friend we have, figuring out this stuff about us!

Preparation sure seems to be the key for me. Dh saved the day (evening) for me by fixing special burgers this evening. But I'm not facing that crafting crowd on Thursdays if I'm not ready with my lunches!

We can do this, yes???? Here I go... off to watch Biggest Loser.

L.. progresso lite clam chowder.. 1 lf dog..1 half of arnold bun

S.. 2 lf hot dogs w arnold bun..( I am liking these very well )

I caught the last 20 minutes or so of BL last night. I forgot about it. I was busy DVR'ing my other shows that come on at the same time. Let me know how those mock tater's turn out. I tried them once (without the beans) and DH hated them. However, I found a recipe on Pinterest that swears it is the best and there is a "trick" for the cauliflower. I want to try it again, but DH doesn't. We shall see.

Ello ladies..

I made the other Mock taters and we all loved them.. but I was thinking the white beans may give them more consistency.. kwim? we'll seeeeee...

so I remembered my oatmeal this am.. .. and everything else.. so maybe I'll be ok today.. as far as head ache and getting enough calories in..

I actually spelt last night.. got up a few times to tinkle.. but went right back to sleep... .. I feel much better today.. not so blahhhhh...

well.. gonna go surf the web and see what I can get into..

Yes, we had a nice Christmas, but the vacation wasn't long enough!!

All is well...the kiddos are doing well. DS1 just got his acceptance letter to the high school that he was hoping to attend...now we just have to find a way to pay

DD is beginning her college visits. I don't know what I will do without her!

Hi Monet! I found your new place! I watched BL last night too. Looks like these players are a little bit smaller than in the last few episodes. It motivates me to watch that show...only makes me think though that those trainers would have a fit with all the fat that we eat!

Jaime, congrats on the news! DD leaving will be tough (I speak from experience of my oldest leaving this year) but you will make it!!

Cauli-taters is a favorite dish around here, but I get kind of lazy and don't always get them made before the cauliflower goes bad. Maybe I'll make 'em today!

this is what I am doing...


Mock Mashed Potatoes (Mashed Cauliflower & Cannellini Beans)



Recipe type: Side Dish

Author: Amanda Maguire

Prep time: 20 mins

Cook time: 10 mins

Total time: 30 mins

Serves: 8-10

Ingredients
◦1 Tbs. Olive Oil
◦2 Cloves Garlic, sliced
◦1 Head Cauliflower, roughly chopped
◦3 C. Cannellini Beans, cooked
◦1/2 C. Vegetable Broth
◦2 Tbs. Fresh Parsley, sliced (chives would also work well)
◦Salt & Pepper to Taste

Instructions

1.Heat oil in a small frying pan over medium heat. Add sliced garlic, and cook until slightly browned.
2.Meanwhile, place 1-2 inches of water in a large pot and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
3.Place cauliflower in a steam basket and place in pot. Cover and steam until fork tender, about 10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
4.In a food processor, combine garlic-infused oil, cauliflower, cannellini beans, vegetable broth, and parsley, and puree until smooth. Scrape down the sides as needed, and season with salt and pepper.
5.Serve warm and enjoy!

You're making me hungry! Waiting on my Linda Sue's Chicken and Spinach Parmesan casserole to get out of the oven! Love the cauliflower recipe! I'll have to check out the carb counts on those beans when I get to eat them again. I love posting my menus. It keeps me accountable. I think about eating something and then I second think it when I consider it has to go in my journal. Hope you are having a restful evening. I can't wait to get on my couch...I'm tired!

you are right about it keeping you accountable.. .. I'll do me best

ok.. so I had some quaker rice cakes.. chocolate.. 13 mini cakes for 120 calories.. had 2 servings.. leaving me at 1302 calories for the day..

I'm shooting for for 1200 to 1500.. so.. I did well

you are always invited girly... you know you do not need an invite.. welcome any time...

The scale is down a lil.. from the other night anyway.. I keep forgetting to weigh in the am.. but I did one night last week... says 5 pounds.. but I don't think I should count 5 pounds because it was at night..KWIM?..

but hey.. its looking better

quaker oats..not low carb..I am counting calories.. so just the serving size.. I add a few sprays of butter that has no fat.. no calories ext. ther eis 15 calories in 1/2 teaspoon of light brown sugar... then I add a tbsp of splenda... and I will be adding blue berries ...I need to get to the store..:P...

holds me over for a long time.. and its healthy for you!!!.. Thats what Bob has every morning ( biggest loser Bob).. except he uses that weird sounding stuff that I don't think I can spell.. sound it out with me.. Egava Nector.. or something like that..

I might buy some today and check it out.. hehehee
