Break Out the Beakers, It's my Maintenance Experiment

I'm back after being away for while away. I started low carbing in 2006 at 219 pounds and got down to 133 at my lowest after TT surgery (I looked kind of scary but loved the way my clothes fit). My weight at age 15 (before I started gaining weight was 150). I have struggled in maintenance for the last two years gaining and losing weight. The triggers mostly being emotional/stress. My most recent experience has been with HCG. I'm up a few pounds since the holidays weighing in at 150.8. I have made peace with this weight but will probably try to lose another 5 pounds as a "cushion".
My goal for 2012 is to maintain my weight in a healthy way, deal with my emotional eating and steer clear of toxic relationships (coincidentally? I struggled in a toxic relationship the entire time I struggled with maintenance).
I've found if I'm not true to myself, even in small ways , I won't be true to my WOE and I will gain weight.

Izzy girl you were missed, glad you are back, glad you have ID'd what causes stress, no single woman needs a toxic relationship!! And certainly not to mess up the amazing weight loss you had!!!! We will be glad to have you amongst us again, we are all getting tough for the new year, and I need to quit smoking, have you quit as of late? Maybe you can help me with that!

Welllllllll, wasn't so healthy last night. Went out to Mexican with my best friend Charlie to meet his family at a Mexican restaurant way out in the county. His 87 y/o father and 83 y/o mother drove in from out of town. I love his mother, hippie dippie cool chick! And you can still smoke in restaurants in St. Charles. I was in tobacco heaven (cough cough). It took an hour for everyone to arrive whilst we indulged in chips, salsa and sangria. Oh No! But it was a lovely time. I sorely needed to get out.
Eating clean today. Felt kind of lonely and empty but chose not to fill the void with food. Tomorrow will be a meat day, I accepted an invitation from my dad to go out to my Aunt's on Friday she is making home made sope's like gramma Valencia used to make. It's been 20 years. Two of my brothers are going, the toxic brother of late has declined. Can't remember if I posted that my father and I have had such a lovely holiday this year....really healing times....I feel blessed, I feel loved.

Oh yea the fitness center at the community college is closed for a month til the new semester starts. I joined club fitness a couple of weeks ago but skipped this past week. I'm committing to y'all that I will work out my lazy bum tomorrow!

Izzy the family drama sucks but that is awesome about you and your Dad, your years are numbered with him, you and your brother will work it out at some point!!! One thing at a time!
You are going to be my quit smoking buddy!!!! We can do this, somehow we have to, you were doing so well last time, we gotta end this nasty habit!

When you had your TT how much weight did you lose after? He says I will lose 20-25 pounds, now granted I lost a lot more than you had to and the c-section scar messed up my gut too so I am curious how much you went down, is it bad? I am getting nervous about it, I can only take like 2 weeks off so I am hoping I can do it!

Worked out as planned last week and did the weight machines again today. Been sick (cold) and eating carby soups was 154 yesterday, will weigh tomorrow. Been battling a bladder infection for almost 2 weeks, yeast is starting to kick my behind, got some cream for it and need to start my probiotics again....hate candida!!!
Note to self TOM started December 29th. Unusually lite, maybe all the antibiotics have something to do with that....

Oh God dont say yeast that infection after my arms comes screaming back!!!! OMG that is the worst!!!

Weighed 154.4 this morn. Having a late lunch with my cousin, he wanted to go for a sandwich at Penn Station, but I nixed that, we're headed to buffalo wild wings, I'll have 6 of the Garlic Parmesan, wheat be gone!!!

Things I'm grateful for today:
It's cold but the wind calmed down, beautiful sunny day
Rented one of my units today, someone is looking at another tonight, hopefully I'll have all the apartments rented by the end of the week!
Seeing my cousin today, he always brings a smile to my face.
In a hormonally heavenly place
Committed to low carb today

Good low carb day yesterday (was a bit of a struggle was ravenous wow) down to 151.8 this morn - closer to my maintenance zone! Yay!
Going to do the weight machines this afternoon.

Weight: 150.4 down almost 4 pounds in two days low carbing. WooHoo
Sleep: about 6
Mood: okay
Didn't feel like it but forced myself to the gym yesterday. Did the weight machines at club fitness, the machines are different from the ones at the fitness center so I don't know the names yet. Need to bring my card home so I can log the machines/weights here. The upper body machines really are pushing my muscle more than the ones at the school, building some upper body strength really fast.

Going for a massage in an hour then to meet my diet client at 3:30 in the county...oh yea lunch again with cousin - will go to hardees and have a low carb burger.

Another beautiful day, supposed to get up to 50 degrees. WooHoo

You go girl!!! Yep my doc wouldn't touch me until I was at least 2 months stopped smoking before surgery.

I'm a diet counselor at a chiropractic office. It's new and I only have one client so I'm working one hour a week. LOL
It's Ideal Protein - a low carb plan using their foods.

They specially formulate their foods to be more alkaline which enhances weight loses (you can also take apple cider vinegar/alfalfa tabs and cherry tabs for the same effect - I bought the supplements from amazon and going to start them this weekend. Anyway low carb is notoriously good for making your system acidic which will inhibit weight loss in some folks. I stalled for 6 months from 160 to 150 pounds a few years ago. My body doesn't like really low carb.
Another friend I got reaquainted with over the holidays lost 80 pounds in 6 months on Ideal. She wants to lose 50 more and will be starting with me in a couple of weeks. Basically you eat their food 3 times a day (I like the ready to drink shakes) have mandatory salads and veggies, their supplements then for dinner 8 oz of meat with a veggie. Low fat. Low carb. They discourage diet soda consumption (I'm baaaad on this one) and encourage drinking green tea.
The cost averages 80.00 a week which includes getting weighed, measured, fat scan and foods.
It's had success in France for years, pretty new to the States...

Oh yeah my plastic surgeon does a group with it, I went I had some of their stuff dude some of it is so nasty tasting and loaded with soy, but the principle is right. I will say the chili is my fav and the one blueberry smoothie is pretty good! I got some of that stuff to try last year when you could buy over the internet, through a distributor in FL, now he is getting shut down they want to keep it all exclusive to doc offices and stuff, I just went to the plastic surgeon's one in Dec, she gave me some free stuff to try so that was cool, I was appalled cause they were preaching about not exercising, you know that didn't sit well with me, LOL

I am thrilled though that you have this job, and it is basically low carb and stuff so you got the skills for that!!! I don't want to diss it, I just wasn't fond of the taste and at my docs office it is $30 a box for 5 or 7 packets sort of expensive I thought.

Yea, the puddings are crap! The bars are good, but they are higher in carbs. The puff snacks are pretty good, but the cereal tastes like cardboard. I was going to try to do a week of it, but I'm still burned out from low calorie hcg dieting at this point...I wanna EAT!

Just got back from working out, muscles are depleted, still don't need a jacket outside, woohoo!!! Going pillow shopping with a friend tonight...lol

Upping carbs a bit today, having a apple nuked with cinnamon, macadamia oil and a whey shake post workout to feed my growing muscles!
