Izzy our system is so f'd up isnt it like let people work and go back on it if needed think how much money it would save, the one lady at work her husband has been laid of for over a year he is afraid to take part time jobs cause of messing it up makes no sense! You are on a cooking streak! That puppy is too cute!!!! Good luck with R they all look and sound good til you meet them, LOL Be careful!! Good God I am so glad I dont have to troll the internet for dates I hated that, thank God Tony was the last one, LOL I pity you girls that are single there is just no other good way to meet people, just be careful I worry about you and Texas Mommy. There are a lot of bad people out there, but once you find the good one it is all worth it

Hey everyone! Met R on Sunday, so not interested! LOL
A musician friend (E) I know from Soulard Blues sent pics of florida and said, "you could have been basking in the sun on the beach"....dipping my toes in the ocean does sound fabulous, but I don't want to date him!

Eating garbage the past two days....hormones, emotions...was surprised to weigh 150.4 this morn. Thought TOM was showing up yesterday with a spot...but nothing today. It's been about a month. It came two weeks early last month...I'll be 55 in Sept. It's about time menopause hits my ass.
Made a strawberry cake to take to my dads yesterday...had a nice visit. My brother R was in a crabby mood when he went over to have a piece with Dad. He called later and said they had a terrible fight. Unpeace on the home front.
Still didn't make it to Laughter Yoga on Sunday. Need to focus on taking better care of myself this week. Haven't worked out for more than a week also. Switched to a new Club Fitness farther from home. The one near my house, 2 or 3 machines are regularly out of order. The new place has different machines, so hopefully I won't have the same problem. Can't complain for 10 bucks a month.
Went to the blues game with friend B on Saturday. It was an absolute blast. Sold out. We left to beat the crowd one minute before the game was over and missed the best play of the night!!!

Pooti, I cook the radish in broth/lemon juice to get it tender first. Takes the "bite" out and it gets more tender....love it fried with sausage! Yum.

Made low carb cauli/broccoli salad on Sunday. It's been a while since I made it...it's really good...

Head of cauli
fresh broccoli
mayo, white wine vinegar, sweetener to taste, some celery salt, didn't have onion, so did onion flakes
cheddar cheese, bacon
Didn't have sunflower seeds which I normally add...

Wow the salad looks delicious!!! Recipe please!?

Thanks for the direcs on cooking the daikon. Ang is big on it, and it's a little intimidating to me for some reason?

Sounds like you had an AWESOME weekend. Sorry the date didn't pan out! Bleh, another "bus" will be along shortly. Never fear!

just logged on to the honey badger spreadsheet. Noticed heaviest weight, well I put in my weight when I started low carb. Changed it to 240...I actually gained more than that but never weighed in to find out the exact number. It was probably 250.

You've done fantastic to lose so much while on menopause's doorstep! Thanks for the ideas on the daikon - I like it but was looking for a way to lose some of that.... strange taste. I hope to find some in a market nearby and will give it a go.

Oh well about the date but you're like the dating queen atm and I am sure you will find one that you like better soon. Mmmm dipping toes in the ocean. Sounds like an idea!

I know! Guess I shouldn't be hoping for menopause because the metabolism really stalls then. I can thank my severe pms, I'm estrogen dominant. Had my hormones checked to get in a fibroid study a couple of years ago. The nurse said I was no way near menopause, estrogen was high. Thankful I've not had a hot-flash or a night sweat yet....but I've been depressed, highly irritable and somewhat suicidal every month for nearly 20 years. Ah, the trials and tribulations of being estrogen high

I think doing the hcg injections last year reinvigorated me hormonally also. The last two years my cycle went from 28 days to 21. After hcg it was back to 28 days with a couple of blips..
last month it was 14 days now I'm on day 30, still no TOM.

Congrats! Can you believe all this time I'm just noticing your stats, thanks to your post and Tiggy's call-out?! OMG. Doh! What an ignorant ass I am! You have done completely great girl!!!! 100lb large ones!!!! Ho-ly-Cow! I would do all kinds of happy dances and bananas for ya if I knew where to get the smileys!!!!

As to the depression/suicide stuff and estrogen dominance. Ya. It SOOO SUCKS! The best day of my life was when the plumber went in and replumbed my pipes to get rid of all that crappy equipment and the 300lb Tum-ah in my uterus. I felt IMMEDIATE relief. Now days, life can still get me down, but it's NOWHERE near anything like the perpetual grief, anxiety, depression, and suicidal crap I dealt with while I still had those *****es the ovaries and all their cysts and estrogen dominance gynecracy happenin' in the killing fields of my abdomen!!! You will be soooo happy once the equipment either quits working or you get them yanked. I vote for getting them yanked. Wish I'd done it when I was 28 and had the chance the first time!

I really can't believe you've been able to lose 100lbs with hormonal issues like you have. You are incredible and wonderful!!!!

Too bad the date was a downer, I had my fingers crossed. Ah well C'est la vie!
Thanks for the tip on the daikon, I am now on the look out for it. I love a new veggie to try out. I now use celeri rave on a regular basis, it has saved my life! I chop a big one up and throw baggies of it in the freezer. Now to just find some more good veggies...unfortunately some are impossible to find over here.
I have had so many problems with my hormones over the years. I directly attribute that to the start of my weight gain. The stupid depo provera shot was the worst thing I ever did and then my hormone imbalance afterwards had me gaining up to 8 pounds a week at one time. The thyroid just put the finishing touch on it all. We poor women and what we go through with those damn things GRRR! You have done an amazing job girl and my hat is off to you!

TOM still hasn't arrived, feeling all the bad emotions that accompany my bad hormones. Food hasn't been good. Don't like feeling out of control. Not very good at communicating with my animal brain at the moment. I've given it full reign.

Yikes, who knew hormones could be so nasty! I feel for you and poot.

Sorry you are feeling so horrible today izzy. Even though the animal brain might be in control atm, you are at least mindful and being able to see it for what it is. This is a GOOD thing, a good step right. You know whats going on and although you cannot control it atm, you know your not a bad person or whatever other negative crap that runs through our heads. It will pass. Really.

Interesting about the hcg stuff. Is having a short cycle indiciative of lower hormones or something? I haven't read up on that yet but I have noticed in the last 6 months my cycles went from 28ish down to 21-23 and its soooo weird!

I don't get PMS, I'm witchy and evil all the time heheh (ok not really, but kinda)

Hey ladies, TOM still hasn't arrived but I got my head out of my ass and got back to plan yesterday. I forced myself to go to laughter yoga. We had a big crowd, 15 people showed up! Felt so much better after I went. I have an interview on Friday which is good I should be through carb detox by then. Can't button any of my jeans comfortably, so I'm staying off the scale this week. My place is trashed, when depressed I just sit...and eat...LOL
Going to clean and get to Club Fitness, still haven't made it there.
Going to talk to someone I've been emailing to tonight. He's got a great sense of humor. So far he's ahead in the dating department. Won't meet til I can fit my favorite jeans...

Thanks honey. I had a really rough recovery, I was cut down the middle and hip to hip and dealt with the necrosis and the fear surrounding that for a good 5 weeks. I'm guessing about 9 months? I had pulling sensations til about that time. If you hadn't had the seroma you'd be feeling 100% better. My worst swelling was at 3 months (looked preggo)....I never had it to that degree after that. I still swell a tiny bit when I eat salty foods or high carbs, (belly skin feels tighter) but it's only noticeable to me. It'll be 4 years in August....my lower belly is still slightly numb.

Izzy wow thanks for telling me that, 9 months huh? That is a long time and I am guessing this is a long ride for sure! Tony still has numb areas after his knee surgery, so he said too I bet you will be numb for some time, that is the hardest thing the stabbing sensations and stuff the seroma I am getting used to. Thanks for that hun, I think I needed to hear that!

Day three back on plan, fit back in my jeans this morn (thank god for a little lycra) weighed 150.8. Only about 3 pounds over what I want to be. Thank God. Have an interview on Friday at 10:00 am. It pays $5 less an hour than my old job and is 50 miles round trip, but I think they have good bennies. If I get the job I won't be able to get the puppy I was planning on. Won't be home enough to train and keep it company. I was going to call him Rocky...he's half chihuahua and half pom. I'll post of pic of him at Tonya's.

Have a date on Friday and Saturday. Saturday is B, the funny guy I've been talking to. He loves movies. Sounds like my kind of guy. LOL

Congrats on the interview. LOVE Rocky!!!

Cool on having 2 dates. You go girl! I soooo admire you for getting out and "doing it"!!!!

Yay on the losses and getting back in pants. I have found that wearing pants, as a general rule, when leaving the house is a good thing.

Wow on only being 3 pounds away from goal! You rock!

B is a feminist that loves movies like I do. He knows I love french films (I like quirky real) and dug one out of his collection for me...a french women's film that won awards a few years back. How thoughtful! We have this wonderful banter online. Hope it translates when we meet on Saturday....
Ex is still stressing me out. It's time he just gives up......
Day 3 of being on foodplan. Went to go to the dollar show tonight and saw the vow. Good syrupy love story.
