Good for you on preventing an overindulgence in carbs when you were feeling stressed. I've wondered if there is something about this time of year. I haven't been eating any bad carbs but I've somehow gotten into a pattern of overeating, and doing that far too frequently. I'm trying to curb that right now but wonder where the desire to eat so much came from. I seemed to come out of the blue at some point in mid-Jan. It crossed my mind that it may be some sort of instinct which arises due to the season.

Felt the most energized since getting sick today! Was out and about, forced myself to workout around 4:30. Finally got home tonight after 8:00.
Now I'm totally pooped out and feel a bit under the weather again? Huh? Tired of the sick and tired!

Inner thigh machine/outer thigh: 100 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Outer Thigh machine: 90 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Leg Extension: 40 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Seated leg curl: 50 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Shoulder press: 30 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Lateral raise: 20 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Rear Delt Pec Fly: 20 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Chest press: 30 pounds, 6 sets of 8 (two hand positions)
Mid chest: (20 pounds) 3 sets of 8
one more chest machine: 25 pounds 3 sets of 8
Lat pulldown: 40 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Manual Chin up machine: 10 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Manual dip machine: 20 pounds, 3 sets of 8

The 7pm to 7am job is with a woman that has Alzheimer's.....closer to where I live.
Next Wednesday afternoon, I meet a blind woman who lives in the same area, I'll be cleaning and running errands for her 4 hours a week.
Wanted to write more...but I'm really exhausted! The one all-night-shift on Wednesday night has sucked some of the energy out of me this week! LOL
Lemme slip in the shower then slip in the sheets...

Like squirrels gathering nuts in the fall to prepare for winter!

Lose the squirrel, I'm just the nut!

My 84 y/o client made home made, fried apricot pies this afternoon. Glad to say they didn't even register on the crave scale (well, perhaps a "blip"..blipblip!)
Pretty good day overall.
There's this chocolate/wine taste testing event in St. Charles on Wednesday evening.
Sounds decadent and fun! I would love to check it out, but I'm working overnight that night.
Maybe that's a good thing.
A really good thing. LOL

Utterly forced myself to workout this afternoon after working this morn.
Really gave in to the volume of food this weekend. When I got home Saturday night. At work Sunday. Just under 152 again. Sigh.
How much longer is this longcoldhardcoldwintercold going to last....
Therapist James finally got a hold of me.
Seeing him Saturday at 1:00pm.
That's a good thing.
Can't remember when I last saw him...?

Anyway,

Inner thigh machine/outer thigh: 100 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Outer Thigh machine: 90 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Leg Extension: 40 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Seated leg curl: 50 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Shoulder press: 30 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Lateral raise: 20 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Rear Delt Pec Fly: 20 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Chest press: 30 pounds, 6 sets of 8 (two hand positions)
Mid chest: (20 pounds) 3 sets of 8
one more chest machine: 25 pounds 3 sets of 8
Lat pulldown: 40 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Manual Chin up machine: 10 pounds, 3 sets of 8
Manual dip machine: 20 pounds, 3 sets of 8

Work another 10 hours at Mrs. T's tomorrow. Made some traditional low carb cole slaw and stir fried some too.
Seared some fat pork steaks, baking them on low for a long time so they will be fatjuicygood.
So far today haven't been grazing.
Good ness.

Was going to do something with R on Friday, but it's an outside venue at Art Hill in Forest Park and it's supposed to be upper 30's and rain.
After I work 12 hours tonight, I have 4 days off.
Think I'm going to take the time to refocus.
Bright note, it's supposed to get up to 50 on Monday!
I'll believe it when I feel it!

Your discipline about working out is so impressive and it's a real inspiration to slugs like me.

Enjoy your time off.

I'm currently snowed in and alone as my husband couldn't make it home from work. Fortunately he was able to snag a hotel room where he's now safely ensconced albeit hungry as all restaurants and groceries are closed. He was at least able to buy some snacks at a convenience store to tide him over. Meanwhile I'm praying we won't lose power due to the ice that's predicted but I've tried to organize emergency options in case we do. Be gone, winter, be gone. I just hope everyone stays safe, including you my dear.

I told the kids this morning WARNING it is 28* out there. DD12 responded stating, I will just wear a jacket! DS15 said, then clothing is optional, right?!?!? Man, it has been too cold for too long! ENJOY!

Hope everyone made it through the latest artic blast intact! Today was sunny and warm albeit I slept through half of it. I woke at 6.30 am Wednesday morn, worked all night without a catnap and went straight to a 10 hours shift yesterday (worked 8.5 and had to leave didn't want to battle rush hour on an exhausted tank).
Food pretty much sucked those two days. Back on track today but saw 155 on the scale.
Anyway, I'm really sick again, started coughing Wednesday afternoon when I was cleaning my blind lady client's condo. She smokes. I started coughing then and haven't stopped since. Full on head/chest thing this afternoon. I saw my doctor on Friday last week, he was sick as a dead dog, Saturday and Sunday I felt like I was getting over my cold. Then started feeling a bit snotty again on Monday morn.

Anyway, got my behind to the gym and did the weight machines.
A friend came by to watch a movie tonight, but he left early. I think my coughing propelled him out the door! I warned him I was sick....I don't think he quite believed me. LOL

I don't even remember now! LOL Something on cable.
I've been coughing yellow stuff all day. So tired of being sick.
I shouldn't have gone out Saturday after work but a friend had tickets to see this band. We saw them at The Chapel, then went to the Oyster Bar in Soulard and danced the rest of the night. Should have stayed home. But had some fun...

Finally back on track. Saw my therapist James today. He used to be a job recruiter for an employment agency so we will be working on my resume and on getting full time work. My main job ended a couple of weeks ago?
Also started working tonight with my life coach Ryan.
Feels good to be taking positive steps in my life again....having that long lost motivation back. yessireebob

Really good life coach session with Ryan last night. He mirrors my progress back to me. When I can only see darkness he reminds me of the light in me. He's agreed to do it for free for a couple of months since he isn't working right now and has a lot of free time. I'm blessed.
Worked 5.5 hours at my old office this afternoon. At my old salary of 20+ dollars an hour. I may get 5 days out of it. Grateful. I'm expecting my tax return any day now, and I get my last paycheck with some overtime tomorrow. So really, I could pay bills for a couple/three months just on my Monday job of $280.00 a month.

I wrote this really long post about what has been going on the past three weeks and lost it. Just as well.
I did a 30 day round of hcg with injections back in 2011 and stabilized well.
This program resets your hypothalamus and can increase your metabolism. It did for me, after protocol I could easily eat 2500 or more calories if I stayed away from sugar and wheat/starch products.
Since this fall/winter, especially the two vacations to Mexico, tons of stress - I found it harder and harder to stay on plan. I could get back on it for short periods, but lost the motivation I once had. It's been a long hard, cold, depressing winter. LOL
I've found with hcg, the idea of if I "cheat", I could mess up the mechanism that resets my metabolism. This fear keeps me on the straight and narrow. This time period allows me to break the habit of not eating emotionally - which had turned into a big monster I frankly didn't have the energy to battle anymore...
My dosage is right so I don't have any physical hunger right now, but I do have that emotional pull toward food that I am learning to deal with - without food. I feel like a have a reprieve right now and a grand opportunity.
I will eat very low calorie (vlc) until around April 22nd (unless I extend to May 1st - if my hcg is still viable) then I will enter Phase 3 - P3 for 3 weeks, basically high fat, low/moderate carbs with no sugar/starches. Last time I had luck eating 2 apples a day and mac nuts/veggies for my carbs.
Phase 4 is maintenance.

Start: 156 (March 30, 2014)
P1d1: 156.4 (load)
P1d2: 157.6 (load)
vlcd1: 153
vlcd2: 151
vlcd3: 149.6
vlcd4: 148.4

Just put my food into a food log. I'm eating around 700 calories per clinic protocol. Will probably switch to small apples instead of my lovely large. LOL. If I stall, may revert back to original protocol of 500 calories.

I love your new avatar.

I was so interested in reading about your experiment with the HCG. I seems as though it is going well for you and that's wonderful.

I have a lot of empathy for your struggles during this past winter. I too have struggled though these dreary (& often stress filled) winter months and have been hoping that the spring and the return of mild weather and sunny skies will improve my mood and help me regain a tighter control of my diet. I've been consistent in following an LC approach but tended to overeat during the winter and the scales reflect my delinquency. Right now I've been trying to eat meat and eggs with minimal veggies...a tbs of chopped onion, a mushroom or two now & then, a very small amt of cheese. I allow myself a serving of cauliflower or green beans with dinner on weekends only. My greatest downfall and one which is difficult to resist is having a glass of wine with dinner.

Anyway, I hope that the HCG protocol will continue to go well for you.

I expected a higher number today. Had an 2 extra apple/protein drink last night.
Lost all my files on my hard drive.
Am rebuilding the spreadsheets for my apartment management job - Owner needs tax information yesterday!
Owner texted last night he wants to start charging me rent?
He also is no longer going to pay me $50.00/mo to clean both buildings (used to be $90.00)
My old job, which I was counting on 3 weeks of full time work at $20.00/hr...fell through last night also.
My home companion job ended a month ago when my client went into a nursing home.
Anyway, I tentatively gave my 60 day notice to move out of here in June.
Hopefully I'll have a full time job then.

This is the miracle of hcg.
Normally I would have been a screaming meemie last night, but this hormone and lack of glucose to feed stress hormones...I'm 100% more chill. LOL

The universe is coming together to push my arse in the right direction.
The old job - extremely toxic dealing with my old boss - emotionally abusive person.
This apartment job if anyone has been reading the past year is toxic also.

I do have savings to make it a couple/three months by renting a room somewhere if it comes to that...

My inner child is screaming at me to finally make some changes for the better...

Start: 156 (March 30, 2014)
P1d1: 156.4 (load)
P1d2: 157.6 (load)
vlcd1: 153 (bm
vlcd2: 151 (bm)
vlcd3: 149.6 (diarrhea)
vlcd4: 148.4 (none) - walked 20 minutes.
vlcd5: 148.4 (bm)
vlcd6: 147.0 (none)

Hcg is difficult to do...it needs total focus.
Any social life that even hints of food must be put off the 3 to 4 weeks until Phase 3. Maybe others can do it, but I cannot.
I stay home and I'm working on positive ways to use this down time.

Last time I did injections, I had recently gotten laid off, was getting unemployment, hadn't had a day off work for 1.5 years and was enjoying being home.
I didn't have the stresses I have now. I did the Simeons protocol and did it perfectly. I even had my dosage wrong, was starving the first week/week and half, but determined to do it, and did indeed succeed.
My motivation was shaken up a bit last night.
This round may not be perfect.
And I'm going to let that be okay.
Seeing my therapist at 6:00 tonight.
He used to be a job recruiter and we are going to go over my various resumes.
He graduates in 4 weeks, I think.
Then I'll start over with someone new.

Oh no, Sweetdream. So sorry to hear that all of these problematic issues are hitting you at once but I'm really proud of your resolve to be strong and follow your plan. And I'm very glad that you have a therapist in place right now to help you deal with these stresses and to help you refine your resume. You are in my thoughts and my heart. Hang in there girl.

Actually 157.6 was the weight in the morning of my first vlc day, so I'll leave the numbering the same. It's a bit confusing. My last injection will be two weeks from today. I start P3 on the night of the 26th.

Corrected above post

My last injection will be two weeks from today. I start P3 on the morning of Saturday 26th. If I can stabilize at 143-144 I will be a happy camper. A couple of days ago I could fit in all the jeans I could barely zip up the week before! The only downside is my face is really deflated again... ...knew that would happen..

Start: 156 (March 30, 2014)
vlcd1: 157.6 (after 2 days of loading)
vlcd2: 153 (125 units)
vlcd3: 151 (125)
vlcd4: 149.6 (125)

I've been vaguely hungry the past three days. Usually not in the morning, but am today. Will adjust dose tomorrow...
