Little Italy is my fav place in NYC, I love the food, the coffee the men hawking you into their restaurants, they have shirt that say blah blah I am Italian, I told Tony I wanted one, he said but you are not Italian, I said I know but now I have your name, LOL

So scale was a big fat 207, but that will move today not drinking water I can feel it, the bathroom problem in the city I couldn't drink!

Going to be strict to prepare for the weekend, workout tonight and back on the LC track today for sure!

Ang I was thinking of you when we went through the garment district, and the bead shops and fur shops you would have a ball there looking at all that fabric and buttons and sequins and lace and fur, I love it and I cant even sew a button! LOL

Glad you had fun in the city, Amber! Yay for the $5500. That is a nice little nest egg to tuck away.

Little Italy is fun in the summer, too. I used to love their street festivals. For a long time I worked all the way at the end of Ave of the Americas by the Holland Tunnel and would cruise up Canal from time to time at lunch. That was an interesting neighborhood. My office now is up in the east 50s by Bloomingdales. Nice shopping options but it's kind of boring in my opinion, plus very inconvenient for getting back and forth to Jersey.

That sounds like a good plan Amber. Kill him with kindness! I once worked for a woman who was just plain donkey-ass crazy and I thought I would eventually have a nervous breakdown. But I decided to go the nice route and just act like she was the most normal person I'd ever met instead of a creature from another planet. She was so freaked out by me being nice to her that she started being somewhat nice back to me, although she was still a freaking loon. She even gave me a really nice gift when I left that job and years later she used me as a reference for another job. Fortunately for her I didn't tell them how crazy she was because I figured they'd find that out for themselves eventually.

Oh yeah nanner cookies!!! Oh they make sandtarts they are my favorite cookie, theya re so thin how bad can they be? LOL

I am totally psyched, I had to go to the store we had nothing, and I mean nothing in the house, and now with extra people, so I passed all the crap, man I looked at it lovingly, I had nestle chips and debated baking, and I said no I cant I will hog them all in, I gotta stay in a little bit of control, LOL So my treat of the night..........I am so excited I could bust???????????

Boiled Peanuts, all 3 carbs, 2 fiber, 1 net carb on 1/2 can, OMG I cant wait to heat those suckers up and eat them, now when the boys are munching I will be in a briney sloppy mess, you either love boiled peanuts or hate them, and I freaking love them! Where are my Southern Girls? Kristi and Cee Cee do you guys love them? OMG

So I am proud, and then Turkey Hill is a local dairy they make the best ice cream, and guess what their holiday flavor of ice cream is? Whoopie Pie, OMG I looked at it, I looked at all the carbs and I said I cant have you but I know I would love you!!!

I had a friend that was in quality control there, she ate icecream all day long, she died 2 years ago of a heart attack, no joke, she was only 72, she ate icecream for 40 years and every night she ate ice cream even after eating it all day, now is that a job or what? I thought of her tonight.

God I am nuts, I gotta relax, I am so hyped up, I am not sure what is in me tonight, I am flying around here like a freaking nut!

Here is a story about my Gram and Christmas, she was one of 14 kids, totally dirt poor, you know what they got for Christmas?? An orange, and she was so excited for that on Christmas day, so tonight at the store I got her one of every orange, the most perfect ones I could find of each, she was so excited, to think at 90 years old she is still excited by an orange! And I got her all her goodies, chocolate donuts, cookies, and cake, LOL OMG she is the carb queen, but at her age who cares? LOL Can you imagine our kids getting an orange on christmas, such a different way of life back then, she has one sister left!

She lived through the great depression...a whole different time...it changed most for life. She is 2 years younger than my dad would have been. Bless her! Love the orange story! That meant so much too her I'm sure! Oranges!

Never had the boiled peanuts. When in the south, was going to try them since we saw them everywhere...when we decided to do that, couldn't find any! LOL

Turkey Hill Ice Cream!!!! Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I agree.

Your son is lucky to have a great grandmother. My husband's grandmother lived until almost 103 so our son got to know her very well. She used to make the most incredible meals. We still put up the Christmas stockings she made for her grandchildren and our son. My hubby's is really old and our son's is 41 years old. They are definite treasures.

Oh, memories. I am so thankful for them.

I WISH I COULD JUST GIVE OUT ORANGES FOR CHRISTMAS. My family always goes gift crazy, so it's impossible. I'd rather take all that money we spend and go to Hawaii instead, but nooOOOoooOOOooooo. It's gotta be gifts. Lots of them. Really good ones. The upside is I get some fabulous gifts! The downside is I'm dead broke after Christmas. Thanks a lot Crappy Consumerism! It's a weird cycle I wish we could escape!

I KNOW IT IS CRAZY!!! This year I can say I paid cash for everything, it helped starting early and its not going to be as crazy as prior years it is nuts! My son was really cool though he is like Mom I dont need a lot of lego sets, just a few, LOL!!!! The thing is as much as I like a present I like the kids to have fun, Christmas is really about kids, and family!!!

Seabreeze Oh I hope my Gram lives to be 103, we are so glad we have her, she is my everything and my son adores her!!!! She would stay with me when he was little and so sick, and we would sit up all night with this screaming kid, she never had a thing and would do anything for anybody. She is pretty darn good though for 90 just slowing down, and a little confused, but I am so glad she is here, I cant even think about losing her!

Weight was down to 205 thank goodness, maybe if I have some restraint all week I will do OK, I am really hoping I dont go over 210, LOL

So hopefully this darn meeting takes place today and I can put that behind me for the holiday, I am hoping!!!I have busted my a** no screwing around, no blabbing at the office, he has gotten maximum production from me and I cant do anymore than I have been doing, so it is what it is, he will see my point by the end though, LOL I will make sure of that!!! I just want it behind me so I can forget about it for the holiday!

Kitty- I didnt hear who won the game???

You go on in there and kill the jerk with kindness! I hope it goes well. Only 4 days and then vacation! You can do this!
My Nan is 88 and she also got oranges...if she was lucky. Her family lost everything in the big crash, and her father left, and she got shuttled around between family members for most of her childhood, becasue her mother could only care for her brothers. She had a sad time. But my grandfather did really well, and made it his mission to pamper her! so now she is spoiled. He passed away about 7 years ago, and we were so worried she wouldn't do well, but she's still going strong! She still drives and goes around with her old lady gang for lunch, shopping and to the casino. She even still goes to Florida every winter 'cause she hates the snow! She rocks.
We have turkey hill ice cream here. And they have iced tea too! I love the diet green tea on a hot day. Never heard of boiled peanuts though. Hmm..

Amber, you are so good to your grandmother! I love the orange story! Even when I was young we always got a big orange and apple in our stockings and I loved it! I wish people still did that. Kids now just miss out on a lot of really cool traditions I think! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! I am off to Boston on Friday to spend Christmas with my daughter and cannot wait! It will be my first Christmas there. And it is supposed to snow that day!!!!!

Crossing my fingers that the meeting happens soon so you can relax! He's gonna love you Amber, it's kinda hard not to!

Lovely story about your grandma and the oranges!! ♥ How simple and meaningful things were even during a time of hardship. Bobby is so lucky to have and appreicate his greatgrandma! My maternal grandmother is 88 and spry as the day is long..this lady goes dancing every weekend at "the club", remarried 6 years ago, she does her own spring cleaning...we're talkin the kind with taking down the drapes and rehanging fresh and scrubbing floors, and rugs, etc..., she is a landlord to 4 small apartments and does most repairs herself..she is amazing and feisty as all getout!

We always get a tangerine, a walnut, and those gold foil chocolate coins-- tradition in our family that goes back long before I was born. My mom is the one who still slips them in.
