I wasn't going to tell you, but I weighed myself today too!

I hope you get into a bathing suit this year! What beach do you go to?
We typically go to Ocean City, NJ because my parents have a place in Somers Point...but they took a year round rental this year, so I don't know if we'll go down this summer at all.

Today weighed in again at 177... hoping to see a drop soon. I may have ate too much cheese yesterday. I am starting to think I have to watch my calories much more than I want to.
Another thing is I've been taking my vitamins and working hard but I've been feeling soooo tired at night. This is partly the reason I have not been exercising.
I'm not sure why I am feeling this way....I am keeping a watchful eye on this.
I am also looking at my mood fluctuations. One reason I really love seeing a drop on the scale is it motivates me to continue and strive for more.

I can never go back to the way I was eating before but I am so impatient and would love to see progress pick up.
Psmiley- How did you do so well in such a nice amount of time?
Please share your "secrets"?
Also, yes, we go down the shore or try to every summer at an Aunt's house in Ortley Beach. What a small world!

My secret is that I started watching calories with carbs. I try to keep myself around 1700 calories per day on average. And I write down everything I eat - every day!

This week I only wrote at night and I ate more calories and I gained 2 lbs...so apparently the writing and calorie counting really helps me!

You are doing great! You have lost more than I have and only been on LC one month longer than me...so you think I am doing great, but you are actually doing better than I am!

Yeah, I am beginning to think I have to watch my calorie intake more along with the carbs also...

Weighed in at 177 this morning. I'm ok with that.
I was not as tired yesterday-now, this weekend my grad course begins and I really want to start exercising again...I want to fit it ALL in-I don't know if that is possible???

Psmiley-I guess I was kind of in denial about the calorie thing-In t he beginning when I first started eating low carb the weight came off a bit quicker and it felt like I was more liberal with my calories. I guess now that I have less(still a lot) to lose my body doesn't need the extra calories. I mean I still feel this woe is the most enjoyable with the greatest benefits but like all other diets/woe it's about watching SOMETHING (portion, calories, carbs, etc.) It's not a free for all---
How much weight have you lost in how much time? You look great!

Today I weighed in at 176.
I am happy about that! I had a rough start to the week-I stayed on plan but I was so tired. I wonder if it was slight induction flu? I still a bit achy but I am not as tired and happy that I did not give into temptations this week. Last night, I had coffee at my MIL and they also had pizza. I did not eat the pizza and had my coffee w/splenda and skipped the dessert...
My winter weeks ahead will be challenging. I want to be more active but I will be busier with grad work. I think I will focus on balance. I want to plan meals better and to always have LC options around AND try to exercise.

I weighed in at 175 today. I am making pancakes for the kids this morning and hoping not to be tempted-actually I know I won't be. It's not worth it.

I have off today and hoping to get organized for the week and do errands. I know I can be successful if I am organized and focus.
Thanks Psmiley-how are things with you? You are very close to your goal right?

1/17-here we go

I weighed in at 175 again today.
This week (feels like Monday 2 me), is going to be full of "things" to do.
I want to make sure I focus on myself while trying to get this stuff done and no get derailed with all my progress in the past week.

When I get to 170lbs I plan on going through my closet and getting rid of some clothes which is very exciting for me. I won't go on a full shopping spree-BUT I am tired of looking at my very "baggy" clothes.

Hoping for a good day ahead...

Today, I woke at 3:35 to use the bathroom and I weighed 175.5.
When I woke up for work at 6 the scale read 174? hmmm.
I think I will stay right in the middle with 175....

I am trying not to be obsessive scale lady but sometimes I just can't help it-I also think it helps me stay on track and helps me stay focused.
I was able to get through one night of grad work w/out snacking. The good thing is I am at the point (maybe in ketosis) where I am not so hungry anyway. I ate half of my cheeseburger-
Tonight I have meetings and an event & I will not be home until later- I am hoping to control any cravings which for me are usually at afternoon and night. Sometimes the time of day coupled with any added activity for the night can add stress and can make me in a weaker state of mind- when trying to control cravings.
Trying to stay focused with this loooongg day ahead.....

Thanks Lilywilltim!

I noticed your a mom too-it's hard to think about ourselves under so many "other" issues to think about it (mainly concerning our children).

I feel so much better eating this way and you are right---WE CAN DO IT! This is our year.

How much weight do you need to lose? (if you don;t mind me asking)

Today I weighed in at 174.5
I feel great but I do feel like I did not eat enough during the day yesterday.
I hope if I eat normally today I will not "gain" whatever I am losing.
I am so focused and want to be on track-I hope I can continue this trend.

I've got my calculator infront of me...so that is almost 15% of your weight that you have lost! Simply amazing. A 15% weight loss not only makes you look great but the health benefits are amazing too!

Keep up the good work. I notice you are so determined lately!

Hi Luca,

Ideally, I would like to lose 60 pounds...but realistically, I would love to get down 40 more. I know my "mature" body isn't really going to get back to 115 or 110 like before I had kids!!

15% is pretty impressive!!

Hugs

Thank you Psmiley for putting percents and weight into perspective-I never did that.
Livywilltim-I want to lose about 30 more pounds. Some days I get so mad at myself for not appreciating how I used to look or weigh (back in the day). I realize now I was just a mess emotionally which lead me into years of bad eating habits, yo-yo dieting, etc. I really want to get to comfortable weight and just LIVE life. I am now, and I appreciate all my blessings, but I know my weight has weighed me down for far too long and something I need to finally fix and/or deal with...

I hope all of us get to where we want to be...

Today I weighed in at 174.5 again.
I am happy about that. I slipped up only a tiny bit last night. I was out with the kids and hubby to see a show and I ate a cup (maybe a little more) of buttered popcorn. I think the reason I do not feel so guilty about it is I did not eat so much during the day. My carbs and calories probably did not exceed its limit. All, in all it has been a good work week-I have a weekend of no extra outings ahead of me. I hope to stay focused and organized because that seems to be key for me.

On another happy note, on my January 7th post I wrote that I bought a pair of size 14, non-stretchy, jeans that could not fit-extremely tight and uncomfortable, barely zippable. Today, (because my other jeans were in the hamper) I tried them on and they fit! I am wearing them today! I am so happy about that. I cannot wait to lose more weight and fit into other clothes that are form fitting and cuter. It's a great feeling-and no brownie or Dorito can compare.
I want to remember this anytime I feel I am getting off track or stressing out. I know losing the weight for me is not just about fitting into cuter clothes but it sure does feel awesome. Hoping for a good day....

Have a lot to do-need to get organized-where do I begin?
Hoping I eat well throughout the day.

procastinating gives me a false sense of hunger for sure...so far no really bad choices...which is good.

some laundry done, half an assignment done for school (need to do more)

Tomorrow I want to do some cooking-LC style for the week:
spinach lasagna, pumpkin bake, jalepeno poppers.

I was worried because it although I ate all LC yesterday, I felt I ate too much.
I definitely do not like feeling that "stuffed" feeling. When I used to eat more carbs that feeling was definitely too often-it was a gross feeling. (for lack of a better word) Lot to do today-I definitely thrive when I am organized in my life.

I weighed in at 174 this morning.
I stuck to plan all weekend. (ate a little 2 much on Sat.)
Have many things to do this week-grad school assignments amongst all the other "stuff". Two planned outings this week-1. Wed. a work party. 2. Sat. breakfast w/friends.
Breakfast is always easier for me. Hoping for another good week and some more progress. January is almost over and the winter is moving along. I want to see results.

Today, I weighed in at 174.
My optimistic side says great, especially when I put on work slacks and they are very loose. My pessimistic side says-ugh, it's been 6 months since I have been eating LC and I am only 3O pounds down. I know that is better than nothing but I don't want it to take that long to lose another 30. (I often get moments of impatience and negativity)
This will not hold me back and I know I this is what is best for me.
I just have to keep making good choices. Right now I am not even craving any carby foods and I just become weak when I am stressed or anxious-that is when I "mindlessly" eat....so we'll see.

Psmiley-your avatar looks great! Your family & friends must be so impressed. I am going for my masters in Educational Practices. As for the work dinner-the choices were pasta (nope) encrusted salmon (yuck) and chicken francese. Is that ok to eat on lc? I would eat that with veggies , no potato and just coffee for dessert. What do you think?

Thank you, Luca.

The chicken will have some carbs because it is usually dipped in flour and they might use some to thicken up the sauce.
Personally, I would eat it and scrap off the breading as much as I could without being obvious about it.
I had that at a work training I went to. I'm not one to make a lot of special request so I just did the best I could. You could pull a server aside and ask if they have any plain chicken options and they probably could help you...

Today I weighed in at 174.
I can't lie-everyday I walk on the scale I am hoping for this miraculous drop.
Patience was never my virtue.

Thanks Psmiley for the tips tonight. I will definitely be doing what you said.
The good thing is I am not that fond of chicken francese anyway.
Work things are tricky-especially with so many females. Unfortunately, I find too many female working together tend to look for "things"....

Hoping for a good day.....
