WINGS!!!! Love them! DH hates them though....hates any picking at things...boneless, skinless, and fatless is his fav. Boring! and ick!

Got lots more of those up my sleeve Meg! Hahaha! Most don't use them a lot, but they slip in there when you don't even notice!

Wings! One of the joys of low carbing is being able to choose wings as the healthy choice!! I did fine last night. I did have 1 light beer...7 carbs, but diet coke the rest of the night.
Today I am going to start packing away the Christmas decorations...sigh...not as fun as putting it all up!
I also want to make a linda sue casserole so I will have choices for the week. With going to the gym, I don't get home until 7:30 or 8, and I need to have quick, easy, legal choices. I have to see if I have all the ingredients on hand...or else I have to go to the grocery...bleah!

Meg- if you are going right after work make sure you have a snack ready to eat before the gym for one for energy and two so you are not so starving, having dinner ready when you get home is such a good thing!!!

One thing I use a lot on gym days is the crock pot, one good thing, get a pork roast and pour a jar of peppercini over it, sounds weird but it is no spicy and the meat is delish, like so tender I think the vinegar does something to it!

I got a big beef roast to stick in tomorrow morning, I do beef broth, onions, garlic, and then make the guys a potato, they love it!

I love my crock pot too! I am going to try that pork and peppers. YUM!!
I was thinking about a shake or bar maybe an hour before the gym...Do you think that is a good snack? Or do I need something with more carbs like a yogurt or something??

I like shakes or yogurt, Greek Yogurt has a lot of protein, get the non flavored ones they have like 9 carbs, and you will burn off those milk carbs if you are exercising, the bars would work too though, so if you have them go for it, I am trying to get rid of my junky ingredient low carb bars! I am not eating those once mine are gone, going to make my own, so when I do I will let you know how they are, I also ordered some whole food ones to try!

OK great. I have some atkins bars and some detour bars so that will be easy. I do love yogurt too, so I'll have some variety too.
Definitely let me know about your homemade bars too.
I made Jody's pumpkin bake from the boards with the ideal sweetener that you recommended and it came out so delicious. I can hardly tell its not real sugar! YUM!!

Good Morning!
Amber, you are right! I already posted in the spreadsheet and on the challenge thread, but I am 210.2 down 2.2 for the week. I am pretty happy about that. Next week we will be celebrating VWL for sure.
Man, I did not want to get up this morning...It is so dark out! But there is a cool full moon, so I am glad I did get up to see it! Oh and to go to work. Work Shmork!
I need to call that trainer today. I hope I can get an appointment for early this week.
I packed my gym stuff yesterday and put it by the door, so no excuses! At least I'll get 30 min on the treadmill.
My plan for today:
shake
2 string cheese
pumpkin soup
coco pop w/laughing cow
atkins bar (pre-excercise)
chicken thighs with broccoli

Have a great Monday everyone!
M

Thanks Nikki!
How do you like the WW pro points? I tried it when it first came out, but the fat free aspect killed me! I've considered trying it again with using "non" fat free products...but I'm afraid I'd drown myself in 100 calorie packs!! I can't be trusted!

The only 100 calorie pack pf anything you should be eating is almonds, all that other stuff is crap!!!! Those 100 calorie packs were the food manufacturers idea to keep everyone broke and fat, the stuff is crap!

I know! And I can't even have the almonds 'cause I'm allergic! Even if I wasn't...seriously, those little packets do me no good...I'd just end up eating 10 of them! I am one of those give me an inch and I'll take a mile types. Like I said...I can't be trusted! For real.

I really like WW PP! But I don't do the 100 cal packs very often, only if I'm at a get together and I take one in my purse to eat instead of a piece of cake. I eat lean meat, and all veggies and fruits. Once in a while I will have a sweet potato or low carb tortilla. But I do see where some people go crazy eating the 100 cal packs and any carb in site. For me WW is better because I do have more to choose from and I don't binge eat like I did on Atkins.

Meg- I am trying to help Bobby with snacking and eating, today while I was at the gym he had to pull out one of his snacks and look up the ingredients if he couldn't grow it, hunt it, or fish it, he had to write it down and look it up== guess what he had a list a mile long- threw a bunch of them away!!! That stuff is garbage I can see having them in an emergency but they feed the sugar addiction! I am telling you they were the worst things invented!! Just to make believe they are eating well, I would rather see you eat an apple for 100 calories or a hard boiled egg, or peanuts!

Bobby loves to eat and with my bad genes and his Dad I am on him like crazy!!! He is really embracing eating better and it is good to let them see it on their own, he is appalled at what he found he is like Mom that is not even food, Limestone- I mean seriously would you lick a sidewalk?? I admit I was clueless as to just how much crap is in the stuff we eat, I am getting rid of stuff and trying to eat as whole as possible it is really a plan and a goal of mine this year!

Nikki I am glad to see you are using them as an emergency and eating well!!!

Amber,
It is so great the way you are teaching Bobby to be aware of what he is eating! The good habits he learns now will stay with him.
Ang, yes, Amber is so right...and so are you!!
Nikki, sounds like you are doing WW in a smart way. so glad it is working for you!

I woke up a little late, and I am trying to think about what to throw in my lunch bag...
I think:
B-shake and string cheese
L- ham roll ups and baby carrots
D- chicken thighs and broc (we were supposed to have that last night, but A called me while I was at the gym and left me a message he wanted a wegmans sub. He got that, and I got a burrito bowl...yum!)

That trainer still hasn't returned my call and I'm starting to get a bad feeling. I am going to call again today, but if he doesn't call me, I am canceling the groupon and finding someone else! I figure a trainer needs to at least be dependable, right?
Have a great Tuesday!
M

He probably got an overwhleming response, but no excuse for poor business ethics, you can return calls til 9 pm if needed especially when someone laid out good money! Beat his ass with your badger like prowess, LOL I am sure the gym has some on staff that you can get, the individual might be nice, but that was a deal you got! My gym is sooooo crowded, it will die down after a month or so, when people are sick of it,

Hi Meg, thanks for the support on my journal! You're doing excellent. It's awesome that you found a groupon for a trainer. Hopefully he responds and if not, hopefully you find one that you click with.

Good Morning everyone!
Oy...I did not want to get up this morning! I am so tired for some reason...nothing coffee won't fix I suppose.
I played phone tag with the trainer dude yesterday...at least he called me back! I'd really like to meet with him this week...I'll be away all next week on a business trip, so if I don't connect in the next day or so, I will have to wait until week after next, and then not until wed, because I'm traveling Mon and Tues. UGH!
No scale today...joining some of my fellow badgers in staying off the scale until Friday. It is funny, when I started I was so strict with myself and didn't weigh for a full 2 weeks
but once I did iI started weighing pretty much daily. It was weird skipping that today, but not really a big deal either.
Have a great Wednesday everyone!
Meg

I'm curious to see what happens with the trainer. Glad he called you back. Also, thanks for the invite for the badgers. I went and found the thread in the challenges and I'd love to join but I'm not exercising now. I'm in my busy season in work and the most I'm doing is walking stairs so maybe I'll join in the next 12 week thread. Ya'll seem to be doing great with it!

Bejewelme - you are gorgeous! And actually, pretty darned ripped!
