She is a really good sleeper, most of the time. She actually slept through the night for the first time the night before I went back to work, so she is also a genius! .
Monica, I love your picture. That pink is lovely on you!

My youngest had colic if she was the first, she'd have been an only child.

I am so glad it is Saturday! What a week. I am really happy with myself that I stayed on plan, because seriously, I could be in a sugar coma right now, seriously. Work was a mess. My boss was on a rampage because his boss was on a rampage, and I'm just not used to seeing that kind of thing up close and personal! Used to get a phone call, now I get dragged into the office to listen to him rant and rave and then drop fire drills on me. Oy! I love my boss. He is a great guy, and he has been so very good to me over the years. Bu my goodness he can be a hot mess sometimes!
My sister in law went to Sloan Kettering on Monday, which is good. But now she is saying she's not sure if she is going to follow up with them on the additional testing they requested. She refuses to do chemo (I suppose I get it, she wants quality over quantity) but if the best hospital for your rare cancer asks you to do some additional testing so they can give you treatment options, don't you do it? She has 4 young kids at home! Don't you fight to stay with them? I'm so appalled. But I am trying really hard to keep my boundaries here. It's not for me to say. All we can do is love and support her, even if we hate her choices.
I have a million things to do before J and I hit the road for PA tomorrow. My dad's surgery is Tuesday. I'm worried, but he seems really confident with the doctor, so I'm trying to be positive. We will have a nice visit before he goes in!
I did have a great on plan week, and was rewarded with a 5.2 lb weight loss. 201.8. 2 lbs and I'll be in Onderland! I just have to keep it up!

Congrats on the weight loss Meg!

Wow that is tough about your SIL, I mean I can see her point in maybe ust wanting to be home with the kids, but SK is the best and if they are willing to help her I think I would try it! But I can see her not wanting to be sick in front of the kids, I think that is one of those things that is hard to know what to do unless it is you.

Praying for your Dad on Tuesday!!!! Hoping that all goes well, and good thing he is happy with his doc!!!!

Hang in there hun!! You know when so many things are nuts around you and you cant control them, there is some solace in controlling what you can, like what you eat, I think you are at that point!!!

Amber is right. Controlling what you can control is what may help you through it all.

Prayers for your dad, SIL , you, their medical staff, and everyone that loves them.

Big hug sent

Thanks Amber, Kitty. I know you are totally right! I'm getting pack up for our trip to mom and dads. I have a cooler with plan friendly foods. I'll be a hero for cooking every night, and we'll all be healthy too! My mom is Italian, so pasta is big time comfort food for her. But I can make due with just the "sauce" part with meat and salad. I'm not going to stress about it.
I sis jump on the scale this morning. 200.4 so close to Onderland I can feel it. I'll be ther when I get back if I can just hold it together! How's that for motivation!
I'll do my best to check in when I'm gone, and keep everyone posted about my dad!

Meg take Dreamfields I never have an issue with that, and if I use self control and measure it doesn't make me gain, your Mom will not notice the difference!!!

Thanks guys! Amber, I wish I'd seen your note about dreamfields before now! I had regular pasta last night, but I filled my plate with salad, so it was a small amount. I have all I need for lc breakfast and lunch this week, so I figure I just need to really watch at dinner and I will be ok. Worse case scenario I have a pound or 2 of bloat to work off. My dad is in really good spirits. He has the head of thoracic surgery doing his bypass, and I feel so much better about things now that I'm here. My poor mom is a wreck. But baby j is helping to take her mind off things, so that is good! I so appreciate all your well wishes and prayers!

You know, I do understand your SIL issues, but in my book, I would do anything/everything needed to try to save my life to be here for my children! I pray she makes the decision to at least look into the treatment options!

Babies do that! They tend to be the calming distration needed for those situations. Prayers for your DAD/MOM too!

Prayers for you too girl! Will you be there for his procedure?

Hi Monica ,
Yes we will be here until Thursday, and then my sister is coming on Friday. So mom won't be alone too long. If all goes as planned, dad will come home from the hospital on Saturday.
Thanks for your prayers!

Dad did well with his surgery. He's in the ICU and ended up having 6 bypasses instead of the 4 they originally thought. But the dr said he did great. What a relief! My mom is still at the hospital, and I am back at their house with the baby. I'm fighting off cravings...probably because I had a roast beef sandwich on a sandwich thin at the hospital, and partly because I am feeling emotional. I am sipping a coffee with HWC and sugar free mocha syrup. I'll have an early dinner of a bunless burger, and call it an early night. I am going to get through this! I knew coming in id have a few carbs, but I'm trying to at least limit it to no more than one meal a day, and no sugar. So far I've done that.
Hanging in there!

Well, Dad is doing well. He must not be feeling to badly since he already posted on face book this morning. I'm sure the drugs help! . But still I feel so much better. Hopefully he'll be in a regular room today.
I've been eating pretty well. I did not go off track last night after my less than perfect lunch. Low carb all the way! I did not bring my coconut oil. And I miss it! But I have HWC and putting that in my coffee gives me the fatty start I am used to. So it does the trick.
I'm glad I brought a bunch of shakes and cheese sticks so that breakfast is an easy done deal. 2 weeks until thanksgiving! I want to build a holiday weight buffer! I'm hoping the scale is kind this week, and then if I could get 4-5 lbs below the Onderland boarder, I can hold the line through the holidays. I know I can!

Thanks Ladies. you are right. I am glad to be home! My dad called me this morning and said they are letting him go home tommorow, so he is definitely doing well.
I am going to try and stay off the scale, but I can't promise anything! I really don't think it will be bad. I'm doing good today. Shake for breakfast, soup and cheese stick for lunch, probably chicken wings for dinner (It is buffalo after all. )
WE'll see...
Love you guys for keeping me motivated and encouraging me during this tough time. Truly!

I am feeling very munchy today. TOM...but I'm trying not to let it get me. I did have a slip....I was in target and there was a guy handing our coupon books ...and Cookies! Argh. As soon as I saw him, I intended to steer clear, but I couldn't resist the coupon book, so I went over and before I new it...I ate a frosted sugar cookie! but I came home and had a low carb ham roll up lunch, and we are having steak and asparagus for dinner. Onward!

Happy Tuesday !
Dad is doing great. He got up and dressed yesterday, and mom said he took a short walk. He has trouble talking on the phone, he coughs because he's still trying to get his breathing regulated, but he likes to text, so that works.
I had a perfect on plan day yesterday, and plan another today as part of operation recover from cookie! I jumped on the scale this morning....200.00! I couldn't get that extra .2! I expect that I'll be jumping around up and down this week as is typical in my 3 rd week of any weight loss plan, so I'm weighing every morning so I don't miss 199.9 if it comes! Also I'm just done with TOM, so I usually am up a bit, and then I drop a few mid cycle. At least I know myself!
I'm trying to get myself organized for thanksgiving. I have hosted that meal a lot, for as many as 30 people, so it isn't a problem, but I have a feeling I might have some challenges trying to do it with a 4 month old! But no worries, right. It'll get done. No one is going to starve! It just might not have things as "better homes and gardens" as I would normally. We will survive! . First world problems!

Wednesday! Morning weigh in and....199.8! I'm claiming it, even though it could be a fluctuation! Now I just have to keep up the momentum to put some distance between me and the border. 50 lbs to go. I need a new mini goal. I guess it is to be in the 180s.

Thursday! One week until thanksgiving. Amber, I am betting on the fact that everyone will be loving on J so I can get my cooking done! I am taking the day off on Wednesday and bringing her to day care so I can do my prep. It will all be fine. I dread the big shopping trip, bu I already got the 2 turkey's, and my SIL has the ham, so it's just all the sides. I always forget SOMETHING ! I'm making my list and combing it for omissions!
I had a work dinner last night. It was at this banquet place that looked like a castle. The room looked like a fancy wedding. . But the food was meh. It was a set menu. I did my best, skipped the bread, potatoes, dessert, etc. I had some wine, but that usually isn't a problem. Not weighing until Saturday...probably! .
