Ohh that sounds yummy!! I have to say that having done LC and low fat, high protein, its one or the other, if you cut the carbs you can have fat, if you eat carbs watch the fat, the two together dont mix!!!!
Awesome to have a doc that supports LC!!! Have a great day I know it will be a blast!!! Maybe if I start driving I can make it there, LOL Hugs to you and yours!!! |

Happy Thanksgiving.
I have so much to be thankful for, and one thing is definitely all my friends on this board! You are all so lovely and amazing! I got a lot done yesterday,so I feel like I"ve got this all under control. I ate on plan yesterday...except for a small square of gingerbread with lemon cream. It was tiny! and it was yummy! but I was going to stick with the exception of dinner tonight so I am a little disappointed with myself. I weighed down .2 this morning. Tomorrow might be a different story! Enjoy your day everyone! Meg |

This is a tough time of the year for anyone that is watching their food intake. A small deviation of the plan isn't the end unless it becomes the norm. You will be ok. Just be ready for the morning when you will want to continue eating the off plan foods.
Happy Thanksgiving~ |

Hi everyone!
Just a quick update. I still have guests and it is crazy around here! I am not doing great, but certainly better than if I weren't watching. pretty much doing good on breakfast and lunch, and then dinner I might have one carby thing...up 2 lbs...but that will come off. Everyone leaves tommorow (except my sis, she leaves Monday) so I can get back on track more easily. My family is a bunch of food pushers! Anyway, Thanks for the challenge thread. I'm coming over! I'm so impressed that everyone is doing so well!!! Meg |

Monday and I'm back on track!! I dropped my sis off at the airport on my way to work. I'm going to miss her! She is going to try low carb too! She doesn't have a lot to lose like me, but she is going to try it. I'm going to try and get her on the boards. She lives part time in Florida and part time in Philly. She works for IKEA and they have her doing that crazy commute for the next 2 years! She lives in a hotel for weeks at a time, so she is worried it will be challenging, but I think it will be fine.
Anyway... I am totally back on track and working my program I packed my low carb lunch and snacks, and I'm happy to be back to my normal routine. I'm even glad to be bakc to work! ha ha! Now you know it was a long week! I have to go to Sand Diego on busness W-F. I was able to eat totally on plan when I went to New Orleans a few weeks ago, so I'm not too worried about this trip. I have to learn to do this on the road, since it is my lifestyle at this point in time. I am on the road about 60% of the time during "normal" business time. Luckily right now its a bit less. Anything is possible if you want it badly enough! I'm thinking about some goals for myself. I would love to be at 199 by Christmas. That may be a stretch. 12lbs in 4 weeks. Actually..I would consider myself a success if I lost half that during this time of year...but why not aim high! The other thing I really need to get on is regular excercise. I totally have no excuse to not be doing that. I belong to a gym. I have access to gym facilities when I travel. I ahve some excercise DVD's if there was ever a blizzard! I have no excuse! I just need to get going on it! Any tips for getting on the excercise train?!? Meg |

Good Morning!
Gearing up for day 2 back on plan. I had a bad headache last night. I was kind of surprised that I went right back to that detox place! lesson learned! don't do the crime if you can't pay the fine! I just remembered that I bought coconut oil last week. I was running around and saw it at rite aid on a bogo, so I grabbed 2 jars. Now I'm not sure how to use it! I read on the main board that people eat it off the spoon! That freaks me out a bit...I know I can use it for cooking too. Better start slow before I try anything too hard core! M |

Meg, I would try just a spoonful, a teaspoon either melted right in your mouth or mixed in your coffee. Then work up from there. Some people take several tablespoons a day, it all depends on how your body likes it.

Thanks Janet.
I actually did try a spoon of it this morning! probably about a teaspoon. I was packing my lunch, and saw the jar and figured what the heck. It was very different than I expected. I thought the texture would be more like peanut butter,I guess. Instead it was soft, but brittle,if that makes sense. Very mild tasting...the coconut flavor is almost an aftertaste. It was not a terrible way to take it! I'll admit, I'd probably prefer to have it in somthing, but I can deal with it off the spoon better than I thought. Yay me for being brave! |

HAHA! That is probably exactly what I looked like. I'm going to try the OMM thing tomorrow.
Thanks! You have fun in the Poconos. I giggled a little when I saw you were going to Mt.Airy. I remember the commericals when I was a kid for "beautiful Mt.Airy Lodge." They had hot tubs that look like a champagne glass and I'd ask my Mom about them and she'd be all like "never you mind! Turn off the TV!!" M |

Yeah the old Mt. Airy is now a casino, the champagne towers are still there at the Pocono Palace and Covehaven resorts, we go there sometimes, it is still like one of the top 10 honeymoon destinations, those NYers love it there! LOL I love Pococno Palace with the Garden of Eden Room, our own pool, heart shaped tub, round bed and free golf all weekend, that rocks!
We decided hey this is free and a getaway so we are so in, I want to go to the spa and get something done, like a facial and a pedicure so I gotta win some money, LOL I am worried about eating I gotta shut my fat trap and I know for a fact the seafood buffet has free sushi that is a big problem I love sushi and soy! Evil soy is so salty!

Another sushi lover here! I do the low sodium soy sauce. I really don't care for how salty the regular tastes! but still it's salty...and carby...and not on my plan for a while. sigh.
Sounds like a super fun place. Free golf, huh? Andrew would love that! I stink a golf...my boobs get in my way! I love the spa though. facial, mani, pedi, the works!! You will have an awesome time! Buffets are evil...just say no! Hahahahaha!! |

OK... I may be in the early throes of a coconut oil obsession. I just cooked 2 eggs in it. yum. and the smell of melted coconut oil is lovely!
What a difference a day makes. I'm hoping it will help me see a good number on the scale tomorrow. as if! I'll have sweet coconut dreams tonight! |

Coconut oil is good stuff!! OMG Meg, I am a golfer and since I lost this weight and my boobs I lost my mojo, I sucked this year, I thought I would be so good losing all the weight my game is totally off, I am going to have to take lessons in the Spring!!!
I smell a Pocono's weekend meet up this summer!!!! Bring the coconut oil, we can lay out and tan with it too, I rub it on my scars and my face it is great stuff, I have a jar in the bathroom and the kitchen and the bedroom for my arm scars!!! And play golf! And get massages,LOL And about exercise, find somethign you think you might like, start small and then you will get addicted, trust me, it took me 3 months to do something- join a gym and now almost a year later with at a minimum 5 times a week, unheard of!! I was slug-jabba the hut man, nothing was moving my fat arse!!!! |

That would be so fun! My folks live about an hour from the Poconos (Clarks Summit PA) so I could easily get down there.
Oh boy...I am totally going to rub coconut oil on my dry scaly legs! TMI! heheheh. I better take a golf lesson too while I'm at it! There are a few classes at my gym that I like. I was going pretty regularly from Jan-July, but as soon as we moved, I was busy with the house and everything, and I just got out of the habit. Seriously, I have been driving around with my gym bag in the car for a month!! I need to go back and just do it. I like Zumba and this class called body sculpting which is the weights and cardio in one class. it is hard! but good. I tried spinning once and it almost killed me! It was fun though. A few girls from work go so I can even join up with them! I'm going to get there. This weekend. I swear!! |

YAY Pocono meet up! It's great to have something to look forward to!
I weigh 211 this morning, so I am back to where I was before the Thanksgiving debacle of 2011. My Gym has gotten a lot better in the past year. It was Planet Fitness, and then it changed over to World Gym. They added classes and every one I have been to has been good, but I need to build my fitness level to keep up. You know, I'm the fat chick in the back row...but If I go consistently, I definitely notice a difference. The gym only costs $10 a month which is great, but it also makes it pretty crowded sometimes. The good thing is I have 1 by work, and 1 close to home, and they let you go to any world gym you want. |

My gym is a Wrold Gym too, just really old and dated, and lame classes, mine is $19.99/month, Tony pays the same and belongs to LA Fitness near his office holy swank, I was like OMG I would love this place, but there are none close to me, I wish the classes at mine were better, like they started that Pilates, had it once now no mention and there were at least 9 people there that night!
