Oh you can still do it, but like Tony's brother had the 2 heart attacks and he blew up from the meds and then colon cancer and stuff, and he is struggling like mad to get the weight off and he is normally very thin, so it might be why you do not see huge losses, but you can do it!!! I know you will!

Agree Meg, meds can do some wonky things to us. Keep working it. Talk to the doc or the pharm. They may be able to give you some light on the meds issue...or just do a google of them, symptoms weight issues.

My heaven has cheesecakes

Have a great day hun!

Cheesecakes are the best!! I make a pretty mean low carb cheesecake now that I know about ideal...but I do love the graham cracker crust and cherry topping...don't know how to make those LC!
I am doing well following plan on the road this week. I decided I am just going to do my best and not stress about it. What else can I do?
I discovered today that Ruby Tuesday is a pretty low carb friendly restaurant. I had the petit sirloin with zuccini and spagetti squash for sides. They have a lot of good choices for veggie sides. I like that. I am not always into salad (although they do have a nice salad bar too) so I like the cooked veggies.
Off to Dallas tommorow. I see naked fajitas in my future, Or maybe I'll save that for when I go to Austin next week..
Have a great evening everyone!

OH Boy...that sounds yummy!
Yea. I am a traveling girl. The next 6 weeks are nuts for me...but I am pretty much on the road about half the time, most of the time. I had a break from it for the holidays, but now I'm back at it!

Thanks everyone. It is good to be home.
I weighed this morning. still 210, but better than being up!! My eating was far from perfect, but decent all things considered. Restaurant meals you never know for sure. But I made the best choices from what was available, and didn't gain, so yea me.
I am going to make today and tomorrow really clean! I have to take advantage of the times when I have total control over ingredients!
It did snow here, but not too bad. now it is sunny, but cold.
I have a bunch of errands to run. Andrew did all the cleaning yesterday, he is the best!!
Have a great Saturday everyone!

Not bad for being on the road. Air travel can add water retention too...at least it did for me. My feet were ginormous!!! Glad you are safely home!

Yay for Andrew!!! What a nice man! I'd come home to "so, what's for dinner?" LOL

Feeling sad today. Our kitty Jake passed away last night. He was just fine all day, but I guess his time came. He was 15, and we've had him since we were dating. He was one of our fur babies and we are going to miss him a lot.

Good Morning everyone!
I'm back from Austin. It was a good trip and I got a lot done, but man I'm tired. I have a lot going on at the office today, so I'm feeling really frazzled. And I'm still really sad about my poor Jake. Losing him has hit me harder than I though. ugh. I need to snap out of it.
Andrew and I watched this movie last night called "Sick Fat and Nearly Dead". It was on netflix streaming. It was pretty interesting. This guy lost a ton of weight and cured some skin disease he had by doing a 60 day juice fast and he went all around the county and got other people to try 10 day juice fasts. One lady cured her migranes, and another guy lost 200 lbs and basically it changed his life. NOW..I'm not planning on going on a juice fast anytime soon. but it did make me think about the lack of veggies and fruit in my own diet. I really need to focus on getting more veggies into my daily routine! It's not even that I don't like them, I just don't bother with them in any significant amount...
OK,well, I have to run, but I will check in later today.
Have a great Wednesday everyone!!
M

Yes I have a hard time thinking that fruit and veggies made us fat, and as you know I am not eating induction levels due to the working out, and I am enjoying a 1/2 grapefruit and apples and berries, I think fruit is important, I think being well rounded is important, although I am the first to admit, that sugar, white flour, veg oil HFCS, and trans fats are the death of us and I cant see eating any of those things except in very limited moderation.

I agree Amber. I think I am going to add low carb fruit...and make an effort to eat veggies with lunch AND dinner. I know that berries and melon are the lowest in carb. Is there anything in season now that would work?
I am trying to decide if I should try a new plan. I love Atkins, but I can't seem to stick to it as well as I should, and I need to be a bit more flexible. Maybe more of a south beach or ww pro points type plan. I can't do fat free (gah!) and I wouldn't want to add sugar, but a few whole grains would be nice, and make things easier when I travel, since I would have more options at breakfast especially. I really miss my oatmeal!
Then again, I could stay with Atkins and move up the ladder a bit...I don't know...decisions,decisions.
What I really need is a kick of motivation to get my fat ass back on track. UGH!
Every day I tell myself I won't eat on plan, and every day by 3:00 I mess up.
Today is another day!
M

You are going through mourning. He was your child. It is natural, though many don't "get" it. So sorry hun. Time will help.

Yep, what ever way you get rid of the junk in our diets, we will improve our health.

Kitty, thanks. That means so much. I have been so sad, and I don't want to be. Many people really don't understand. But I feel a little better every day, and I know he lived a good life.
