Over40 and Power of 10-ing

I keep a journal at the No S Diet website. I figured I like being here as well.

I try to eat low-glycemic and keep it to three meals a day with no snacks. Right now I am losing size, after being around 190 last summer (180 right now).

Today my meals were:

Breakfast: 4 scrambled eggs mixed with diced brautwurst and sourdough toast.

Lunch: peanut butter and low sugar jam, nectarine and a cup of low sugar apple sauce.

Dinner: Three tacos and 1/2 a cup of Spanich rice, and an O'Douls. (Not so low glycemic...)

I'll take a sauna later on.

A very good day today. Three meals, no exceptional hunger between them, and a couple of glasses of milk.

I got my Power of 10 workout in at 5:00 PM. And my wife joined me today as well. She likes the Super Slow workout. The 10/10 cadence was to "fast" for her. She was going 20/20.

Weight this morning was 179. (At 5' 9" tall. That is pounds, not kilos. )

Welcome. But, wow, you're impressively light already. I think I'm going to have to follow your journal carefully, to see what your secret is. I'm 5' 10", but I'm dubious that I can go beyond my target of 182, which I already weighed at eighteen. Will see if low-carb has yet another ace up its sleeve.

Hello Green Team. I am not sure what the secret is. Vanity maybe. I "hit" 177 this morning.

I am eat three meals a day, no sugar, and seconds, and no snacks, M-F. Saturday and Sunday I allow myself a Coke, or a couple of frozen Snickers Nuggets. Maybe an extra meal.

My workout is once a week in the afternoon Super Slow "style".

I do carry weight around my midsection, and have the same body shape as my father and grand father who carry their weight in the same area. If I don't watch what I am eating I can look like a barrel with twigs sticking out. (arms and legs...)

This last week was very good. I hit my goals for each day (3 meals a day, nothing more...)

Nice to have you drop by.

Set meals is definitely a secret that's working for me too. I have two meals and a snack, but I count the snack as a meal, in a way. The two meals have to be cooked and then eaten with a knife and fork: nothing by hand. It definitely helps with discipline, as does the lack of hunger on this diet.

Green,

It it is good to see you here.

Today was a "free day". I had two meals, then 5-6 Mini Snickers bars, and a protein drink. (Not with the mini Snickers.) I had saved a Coke (12 oz. can) for today, but one of my 12 year olds found it and drank it instead. So, I have had a couple of bottles of Gatorade G2. (Very low calorie...)

Another day, another three meals, no snacks, sweets or seconds.... Low Glycemic, and I'm feeling satisfied. (Remember he song by Boston?)

I'll weigh Saturday. I figure Saturday morning is good, it is after 5 days of 3 meals a day, and just before the "free days" start.

Very good day today. I ate three meals, no snacks, and had no sweets. I like the three meal approach because I can be less dogmatic about what I am eating. I am still slimming down so I will continue with this scenario.

Got my Super Slow workout in for the week and it fell good.

So see you all tomorrow.

A very good day again.. Three meals, had meetings from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, but no overriding urges to eat.

Not sore from yesterday's workout and my lower back feels fantastic.

Breakfast: eggs, hashbrowns, fake sausage.

Lunch: bologna, cotto salami on wheat, sandwich bag full of kettle chips, an apple.

Dinner: Teryaki chicken on rice, fruit.

Sat on me arse for about 8 hours today helping students make up work and parent teacher conferences.

Weighed 176.5 this morning when I woke. Making slow, steady progress.

Three meals today, and a couple of glasses of milk. I can now fit my wedding ring on my middle finger. Nothing vulgar about that, just noticing my digits are thinning.

Spent 2 hours earlier at a 2 hour meeting. I didn't even notice the bowls of candy they'd strung out all over the tables.

A very good day. I ate three meals, brekfast was big, lunch was small, and dinner was just right. I did hoist a couple of apricot brandies after work, but that isn't a regular habit. (Although I do find an apricot brandy or a black berry brandy to be pleasant.)

Tomorrow is my Super Slow workout. And someday, I hope to go to a trainer who focuses on those workouts and see if I am doing them correctly.

Good evening.

Huete war eine gutes Tag!

I probably butchered that. I could have eaten "healthier", but am still keeping it at three meals.

I got a Super Slow workout in this afternoon. (Or Power of 10) I am starting to notice a change in body shape, tonus, and a feeling of well being.

I need to start varying lunch. Today someone offered me pizza for lunch and I was able to politley say no thank you.

Everyone have a good evening.

A nice day, low glycemic, three meals.

Was going to take a sauna, but decided the World Series is more important?

Tomorrow may be a challenge. I am supposed to go to a neighbors and watch college football. Who knows what treats might be waiting?

I'll take it in stride.

Being able to say no to Pizza is a big landmark. I went out with a big group on Saturday, and it turned out to be an Italian joint. Huge pizzas all around me and I had the sardines and salad. Unfortunately, they were breaded, but not too much. I never envied the pizzas, and I managed to drink Scotches instead of beers (I know they're still not good, but they don't seem to affect my weight). I'm trying to follow down the same weight path as you.

Hello Green Team,

I took a free day Friday, but kept the "free" to watching the football game, and had a Coke, some excellent bean dip, and chips.

Today I tae high fat and protein, with a slice of toast, and a torilla. Three meals though, nothing else.

I did have two brandies, blackberry and apricot. Those will have to be an occassional treat as they are rather syrupy.

Everyone have a good rest of your weekend.

Today was a very good day of no snacks, sweets, or seconds...

Three meals. I make breakfast my bigger meal, but I have a virus and a protein shake was the only thing that sounded good.

October has been a very successful month. I took the first week off due to traveling, but have kept at it the rest of the month. I have lost 5-6 pounds in October, I am hitting the third notch on my belt, am eating less food, taking fewer antacids, and sleeping better.

I am doing well on the Power of 10 (Super Slow) workouts, and it has been an added bonus since my wife has started working out with me.

November is next, let's see how I negotiate Thanksgiving? Although Halloween hasn't been much of a problem.

Well, yesterday was an absolute cluster fudge...

But, today was much better. I had three meals, not big ones, and had milk in between when I felt hungry.

Got to the rehab center just as they were closing, so, I'll have to do that tomorrow evening.

Over all, a good day. May take a sauna.

Friday was a bit dissapointing. We went to Famous Daves BBQ and I thought I could just eat brisquet and chicken, well, I ate everything.

The weekend has only been a bit less irritating.

Today is good, and tomorrow I am looking forward to it being a new week.

I have not been here for a month. I am back!

3 meals today, and I have actually had a very good week. I kind of fell off the wagon in November.

I am still Power of 10-ing, Super Slow-ing, Slow Burn-ing and making very good strength gains.

And still hooking the belt on the second notch!

I have been a bit depressed, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving I was informed I was moving from the jr. high where I work to the continuation high school. Not because it's a demotion, but because, apparently, I was considered the "person for the job!" I am quite saddened by the situation.
