Shin splints have something to do with the muscle/ligament in the lower part of your leg, like along the bone in the front or on the side of the bone...usually comes from running. I was reading articles online last night, and I think part of the issue is my running form...I think I push off with my toes & that strains the muscle.

Jayce- go to a good running store they will take a foot strike, someone told me to try to hit the outsides of my shoe and so far so good with the shin splints also leg work at the gym will help, extensions, presses anything to strengthen your muscles and quads will help, it is all form.
I ran tonight after 2 weeks off not a pretty site, LOL I have that big mud race in 2 weeks I am so not ready for that! I sort of hate running but do it anyway cause I do think it helps to lose weight but I hate it I much prefer the elliptical and the weights

Went to a festival thing yesterday: my mom & I got BBQ (meat only, no sauce) & a little cole slaw to eat (no bun). We later split a small sized container of roasted pecans (these did have sugar & cinnamon). It just about killed me not to get a funnel cake when I had to smell it for several hours...but I didn't cave in. They also had chocolate-covered cheesecake on a stick, fried twinkies, etc...OMG!! LOL. I was proud of us for resisting all the temptation. I was down a pound today, so that felt awesome.
Got a really bad sinus headache & aching in my jaws, so going to lie down for awhile. Just wanted to update!

So I did some cleaning/organizing in my bedroom this evening, & I found some smaller pants I can wear now.

Bought some unsweetened almond milk to go with my Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal (I've been eating flax oatmeal the last few weeks, so I think it'll be ok to eat). I do love the Kashi Toasted Berry Crumble...mmmm.

35 total - 8 dietary fiber, so 27 for 3/4 cup. Higher than other stuff I eat, but the Trader Joe's flax oatmeal is just about as high. I feel like they're healthy choices though.

Ok, so Saturday night was a helluva good time.
I had to pay $20 to get in the club b/c the line was all the way down the block & it was FREEZING outside, but it was actually the best party I've been to at a club. The place was huge & very nice, & I danced all night. I remember dancing w/ a mad scientist & a red M&M. LOL. This random guy paid for our food afterwards at IHOP, so that was awesome. I did drink too much (headache like hell when I woke up Sunday, but I still made it to work that afternoon). Surprisingly, my weight didn't seem much affected. Oh, it was too funny: my friend said I was NOT happy b/c our server brought me pancakes, & I was like, "I didn't order these...I can't eat pancakes!!!" LOL. So even when I was inebriated, I still knew I wasn't supposed to eat them. TOM is here, so not gonna stress over weighing until it's gone. I'm kind of at a crossroads with my job situation, and the next few days will decide what I do. It's been uber-stressful the past 3 months, and I feel that it's taking a toll on my emotional/mental wellbeing. Anyways, any positive vibes/prayers would be appreciated. Later, y'all! Jayce you are doing super!!!!! Congrats on the new low and the dancing and having fun!!!! I eat some of those cereals and also plain steel cut oats and add protein powder, if you keep the fat on the lower side while doing that you should be fine, we really need more carbs when working out and running, so its good to eat them in the morning then they burn and fill your muscles, just watch and see how you do. I love almond milk, I use it in my shakes too!

People are funny, but that's nothing new. Anyways, I'm going to keep "doing me" & stay focused regardless.
Oh, I got a raise & a leadership position at work, so that situation is resolved. Thankful. |
