Day 5 of being back in control

I woke up to 164.4 lbs on the scale this morning, so I was less than pleased!
Ive worked hard this week and I would like to be rewarded with a big drop on the scale...but I'll keep working hard and hope it comes in a few days.
I reread my journal and thought about my ups and downs...and I tend to have ups around this TOM...so I am going to hope that is my problem.

I've been weighing and tracking my food, thinking about what I eat...so it has to pay off for me.
I still have 25 days of being totally in control so it will work!
(I said I was going to be totally in control for July- but I started early because of a weight gain. My motto is I can do anything for 30 days so it is a short-term goal for me. Hopefully I can stick with my renewed eating habits much longer then 30 days, but I need to start myself with a small atttainable goal. Last August I started Atkins as a 30 day thing and here I am almost 11 months later keeping it up.)

So-I have mixed feelings...happy to be in control, and sad to be up a few pounds.

164.4 again this morning.
I am staying at about 1750 calories and around 20 carbs.
I think my protein might be high...I have to do some research.

I'm significantly over my calories today. 2133 total.
I ate a lot of beef - a steak for breakfast and 10 ounces of ground beef for dinner.

Another in control eating day. I did buy some Ketostix but no purple, which is not unusual for me. I'll see how it goes in the morning. I know my carbs are low, so I should be good.
I just want to see a loss on the scale. I usually do my official weigh in at my weight loss group on Thursday night but it is cancelled for tomorrow...so I have to wait another week...

I feel good. I know I am eating better. I will stick with it, but it is just frustrating!

Oh Paula, I can tell you are really frustrated.

I hope that your sticking to it will pay off in a little bit. Do you think your body just wants to be at this weight? Is this the lowest you've ever been as an adult?

This is the lowest I have been. I was happy at 162...anything over it bothers me...
I gotta believe my hard work will pay off...maybe it just is going to take a week or two more

Is your thyroid OK?

You may have to cut it back to 1,500 calories or less to keep losing. I just had to do that myself, because my usual 1,700 - 1,800 was not doing it anymore.

If I didn't have diabetes, I would be interested in trying JUDDD, but that wouldn't work for me.

It seems like your body is rebelling at being lower than it's ever been, like, "This is not our usual state of affairs! Emergency!" Ugh, how frustrating!!!!

I do have thyroid problems. Maybe I will make an appointment to get it checked. It is just so frustrating to be gaining, especially this fast when I am trying so hard!

I am just in such a bad mood about all of this. I have been good, really good for well over a week. My carbs are low and my calories are good. I've been eating whole, natural foods. I'm weighing and measuring my food. I'm being completely honest with myself about what I am consuming. I am writing it down and tallying it online.
In the past this would have put me down a few pounds, but instead I am up! The highest I have been in months.
I just don't understand. It is so depressing.

There is nothing else to give up out of my diet...well, there is cream, but I would not enjoy life then. My coffee is my only indulgence left.
I can give up cheese and mayo. I don't eat a lot of it, but I can not think of anything else to cut out...so cheese and mayo are gone now.

I had another good day. I'm sure anyone who is reading this is tired of my complaining, but it is just so hard to know that I am eating the right things in the right amounts and gaining weight.
I just have to keep knowing that this weight will come off. It has to, right?

Vilya, I'm going to ignore that question!

I'm active but I don't exercise beyond push ups. I play a lot, jump on the trampoline, go for walks, but I don't exercise.

I made a doctor's appointment for next Thursday. I want my thyroid bloodwork done. I wonder if it is related. My skin is so dry right now too...like flaking off which I have never had. Maybe as much as this sucks, perhaps it is thyroid related and I can finally get some relief.

LOL on the exercise answer, Paula.

I have to exercise, or I don't lose. Up until now I wasn't doing too much, maybe 2 days of walking per week. But this big loss while dog sitting has shown me that I need to step it up, now that I'm down so much. I just need the little extra help now.

I went to a picnic today and saw someone I really do not like.
I really wanted to say to her "Oh, I see you found the weight I lost." I resisted saying it of course,but I'll admit I got way too much joy out of seeing her stuff her face full of food.
I'm not usually so mean but this woman brings out the witch in me.

It feels good to be in control...
