So now my little girl is all graduated!

I was a good mommy and spared my family the waterworks. I think I surprised them. I actually didn't feel the need because I have her home with me still for another year while she gets some general ed done at the community college My son DOES leave tho this fall for University tho so that will be a sad sad day for me. I so love having my kids with me always.. if I could I think I'd keep them all here with me! I know though, it's time for them to spread their wings and fly. Does my heart alittle good however that he will only be 2 hours away

Anywho, been busy with all the graduation stuff and just getting ready for summer again. I can't believe another school year is done and over!

Dh and I had a long talk last night about beginning a new lifestyle and I believe he finally gets just how important this is to me. He's always been supportive of whatever I've decided to do, but this time I think he truly sees the benefits of living a low carb lifestyle and all the benefits it rewards us with. Of course I keep reminding him of the first time we discovered Atkins and he did it with me and the weight melted off him in a matter of 3 months..he looked so good! I think he's seeing that we are that much older now and things are slowing a bit and we need to be taking care of our bodies or there won't be much fun to be bad when we are empty-nesters in a coupla years! I'm excited to begin, and we already sort of did by getting rid of the soda and some of the processed stuff... this next week starts a whole new chapter for all of us and I begin doing it by the book, no exceptions, no excuses! GO ME!

Danielle your daughter is a beauty, I can hear the proud tone in your voice as you talk about your children. I am soooo proud of you and hubby for embracing a new lifestyle together, makes the journey so much easier for you both. The benefits, oh the benefits of living healthier will be fantastic for the both of you. Since I last posted about soda I haven't had any so I am there with you on that! How wonderful, Danielle! First, you and DH recommitting......good for you. With the two of you working the plan together, you cannot fail!! Good for you both for taking this step!!

As for your kids.....WOW! You are clearly an amazing parent! Both of them in or headed to college....that doesn't happen in a vacuum. Your daughter is gorgeous, of course; how could she not be with such good genes???

How could I forget! My other DD..the baby.. she pulled her 4.0 this semester. She worked SO hard. She was also inducted into the National Honors Society, Spanish Honorary Society, and the Society of Womenly Scholars. She has kicked butt her first 2 years of high school and I know it will only get better! Her and I are alot alike in terms of grades and working/studying. Her and I spent countless afternoons parked on the sofas doing homework together. We are so nerdy!

Ladies, you're all so kind. My daughter is a beauty tho isn't she? She is the kind of kid that has walked around never having a clue the kind of spell she puts on people, never realizing just how pretty/cute she really is..she is so nice and kind to everyone.

I am definitely excited about Bryan joining me on this journey. He flat out said he would eat whatever I made. He apologized for the past attempts where he would always say, I will support you in lc but..... then he'd make stipulations about certain foods he wouldn't eat, etc.. he didn't realize just how stressful he made it for me. Now he's on board 100% and is going to see where it takes him too. The kids will be eating so much better which is always a good thing! He is also holding me more accountable with him too, in the past, because he thought he was protecting me or didn't want to be "mean" to me he would never say anything when I would eat crap foods... now he will remind me that there are NO excuses. I need this!

On that note, I'm off to the grocery...

First let me say that your daughter is beautiful and could really be a model!!!

2nd, I'm so excited that you and your hubby are doing this together. It will be life changing!!!! It has changed my life tremendously!!! Our kids are eating healthy carbs. My husband has lost 83 lbs on our journey too. Our energy levels are through the roof and we encourage each other!!!

I will be here to cheer you on 100%!!!

Also, I'm so happy for you that Bryan is joining you on your LC journey. That is going to be great. I think it makes all of the difference in the world to have support like that as you strive toward your goal. I wish my DH was more on board (he is selectively LC at times, that's it), but that's not the way it is. But I wish you all the best!

Aw, Melanie thank you. She is something else! She is super short but did think about modeling for about 2 seconds.

WOW! Your hubby is doing fantastic!!! Well that makes me excited for mine, he has prolly about 50'ish to lose? And if memory serves me correctly, he lost lightening fast last time he did lc. Men! You would think that since us girls have to endure everything else, we could at least get a break with the weight loss thing, yanno!

Maxi, hey girly! It will definitely help having dh along for the ride. He's tried being supportive and not following a lc plan and it gets so hard. I think he's also realizing that he will feel better himself by following this lifestyle and he needs that, his job is so high stress. Definitley enjoying the weather, can you even believe its AZ!

Went to the casino last night. I won like $50 and played it and lost it. lol I was having fun playing this Batman .01 slots.. had the joker in it (Heath Ledger) and all the lights and sounds... my kind of maching. Too bad it didn't give me the $1MILLION progressive that was happening.

Today I faced the scale. After I regained consciousness I determined that it's just a starting point and not where I will be any longer. But man, I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me!!

No worries D, look at it as a number you will not see again, your hubs could have 50 pounds off by Labor Day the way men lose on this, my ex when we first did it lost like 70 pounds in 4 months stuffing his face at Old Country Buffet for lunch everyday eating meat, it ticks me off, LOL

Yeah get that Meryl Streep movie, I didnt think I would be into it but it was really good, I guess Margaret Thatcher got some bad dementia, and just the story of her life I didn't even fall asleep. Very sad and moving, she so deserved the Oscar for that!

Noooooooo chit! He lost about 40lbs in 6 weeks time the first time he did this? And eating Wendy's and In n Out burgers everyday at work for lunch!
I don't care how he loses it, I worry about him because only place he has weight to lose is in the belly and that worries me big time. So he can eat burgers all day if thats what's gonna get him slim again.

I don't have any doubt that Meryl was fabulous, she always is I adore her. I will always always think of her as "Miranda" in Devil Wears Prada .... "that's all"..

Today's the first day of forever. Boy am I ready! Last night I seriously felt like my guts were gonna explode. I had some tortillas and a lil rice at dinner.. OMG! And to make it worse, I had a handful of pretzels... O...M...G.. I looked like I had a beachball under my shirt! I don't ever want to feel like that again, its horrifying to realize just how much affect high carb foods have on my body.

Anywho, layin low today weather is back on the climb I knew those 80' temps were too good to be true I have shopping to do for my trip next month so maybe I'll go do that today
