Regarding the shooting, I finally watched some coverage last night. It sickened me and made me cry of course and I can't stick my head in the ground and pretend it didn't happen. I can't ignore those children and adults, they deserve to have their stories and lives imprinted on my heart. As a mom, I certainly don't want to let my mind go to the "what if that was my baby?" question, as the mere thought of that makes me want to have a guttural reaction. Katy - Thank you. That was a great post and really helped. I did make some progress and in 2013, I will get to goal. I will.

Chelsey - It's your year too, lady!

V - Thanks!!

So today was the same on the scale - 248. I had a great UD yesterday so I didn't expect it to move down. I had coffee w/ cream x 2, an atkins shake, mock danish, southwestern soup w/ cheese and sour cream, lowcarb icecream, nuts, and bacon. Approx. 2000 calories.

Today is a DD and my menu will be:
B: coffee w/ choc atkins shake - 145 calories
L: coney island chili dog pie - 400ish calories
---
550ish total for the day

Hang in there honey pie! You had some major changes this year that required your utmost (sp?) attention...the weight loss thing will always be there and you know how to do it. I KNOW you will do it! The important thing is that your little family is healthy and happy and the rest is just fluff. Your son is ok, your hubby is transitioned into a new job, and you are all in a new home! So many things!!!

You know I understand more than anything! We both have work to do in 2013 and it WILL be our year! I'm right there with ya, Sweets! Love you lady, you are THE BEST!

Danielle - yeah, it was a hard, long year. Hopefully 2013 will be much easier.

Katy - it was a great DD. I didn't have any hunger. Last night, I did cave and ate maybe 1/4 cup of sauted spinach. It just looked too good and I really wanted a few bites. And it was sooooo good.

Gracie - Hi back!!

So the scale moved down 2 today! 246. Only 25 to go. It feels good to be going in the right direction on the scale again.

Today's UD menu:
B: coffee w/ cream and splenda x 2; sausage/egg/cheese/onion quiche
L: chipolte - yay!!
D: brats and that delish spinach again (saute fresh minced garlic in butter - wilt fresh spinach - salt - devour)
-----
1900-2000 (estimated total)

You know what's frustrating?? Ordering something for dinner that is literally blackened grilled chicken, cheese, pico, and sour cream. Figured it was 500 cals max. Website for the restaurant said 1600!!!!! How is that possible??? How? So much for a great UD. Guess it turned into an unintentionally terrible day. I'm guessing I came close to 3000 cals today.

Maybe 6 strips. Even if they were coated in a pure sugary sauce, it's hard to imagine the cals.

I really think it must have been a typo. I can't imagine how it could be so high otherwise. It wasn't my chipolte. I calculated that at 700 or close to it. I had the barbicoa (sp?), grilled veggies, green salsa (yum!), cheese, sour cream, guac, and tons of lettuce. That was worth every single calorie.

Suprisingly the scale stayed steady today at 246. I expected it to jump up from the possibly high calories or at least from the sodium from eating out twice in one day, but nope. I got lucky. Phew!!

Today's DD:
B: coffee w/ atkins shake (165 - 160 for the mocha latte shake and 5 for the coffee)
L: coney island chili dog pie (400ish)
---
565 cals

I'd like to work on getting my DD calories lower. Maybe on Friday I'll do the shake plus 2 scrambled eggs and bacon and land closer to 400 total.

Thanks! My DD was good. I prob ended close to 700 calories yesterday though because I had a late afternoon latte with some coworkers. Mine was splenda/cream based and really, really small.

Today's UD should be good. I have a holiday work luncheon that I must attend, but I'm hopeful we'll have good choices. They usually do a nice meat option, salad, and some sides. So I hope that's the case this time.

Oh, and the scale went down another pound to 245 - only 24 to go to my low. Slowly but surely I will get there and then enter new territory.

Yesterday's UD was delish. Had my normal coffee/shake, the luncheon had some yummy roasted turkey and green beans, had a bunless hotdog for a snack, and a blackened chicken salad for dinner. All super good.

Today is going to be my first attempt at an under 500 cal DD. I think mine have been 500-700 so far. So I plan on doing an all liquid DD.
B: coffee, splenda, cream x 2 - 100 cals
L: atkins shake
D: atkins shake
----
450 ish calories total

We leave tomorrow to go on vacation for the next week. I may not check in, but I promise to be on plan. I told my parents and they are planning accordingly and promised to help me stick with it.

Oh, and the conversation had this as part of it.

Mom: So you really can't eat any carbs?
Me: Well, no sugar or bread mostly.
Mom: How about my cheesecake? It only has some sugar.
Me: Definitely not cheesecake.

haha

So, I'm back after a great holiday. The good: ds got so excited about Santa this year and we had a great time with it. He's three so it was the first Christmas he seemed to get. The bad: my food choices after day two. The ugly: my food choices even after getting home.

I restarted today, instead of tomorrow. I've decided that 2012 was TOUGH in almost every way for me. I lost a job, started two new jobs, moved twice, ds had surgery, my brother is having legal issues, parents had some financial issues, nephew was born, dh changed jobs, etc. I'm done with this year. Welcome 2013!!!!

Thanks, Katy!!

Day 3 is underway. My plan is to finish this week with regular, indulgent low carb. Starting Sunday or Monday, my JUDDD rotations will start.

My New Year's Resolution is officially to lose 80 pounds. Ending goal will be 170. That's the weight I weighed when I met DH at 18. It's 7 pounds per month (slightly less). Very doable. So this will be my focus - just 7 pounds per month. I'm ready!!

7 pounds a month is totally doable! I lose that slowly anyways so it makes me feel like I'm really accomplishing something.

Here we go!!

haha...yep, Danielle. Even that little 1.5 pound per week loss can really add up. I had the best success last year when I focused on slow and steady and overall loss averages. So if I lose 10 pounds this week (haha) and don't lose again for 4 weeks, I'm still right on track. I need to remember that when I have those bad weeks. I CANNOT CHEAT.

And since I just restarted LC, AF had to show up. Right on time. Since losing 30 pounds, AF is VERY regular. I had the hardest time getting pregnant before since my cycles were whacked out and now that we can't have a baby, I seem to have worked out that issue...

AF likes to torture us, Chelsey!! And OMG, I would to be in onederland by May. My "busy season" with work is through April, so I am starting to plan a trip to Disney in May. I am setting my goal to be in the 210s or lower by May, but onederland would be WONDERFUL! I love your new goals.

Scale stayed the same today. I know I'm eating too many calories. As I've been saying for months, I cannot lose with regular LC because I eat too much. Plain and simple. I honestly do get appetite control with LC in that I don't binge and I can walk away from sweets/carbs, but I still eat too much. Quiche and cream and coffee for me easily is 700 calories. Lunch will be another 700+. Add a few hundred for a snack. And then a 700 calorie dinner and I'm topping 2500 calories and that's not hard to do. I cannot lose weight eating this much. Even when I tried upping fat and lowering protein, I still easily ate 2000+ calories and didn't lose.

So having said that, and knowing that, I know I need to add JUDDD to really get going towards my goal. But with TOM here and with being on day 4 of LC, I think I may wait another day or two and start Saturday with a DD.

I'm the same as you; it's WAY too easy for me to overeat, period. I would try JUDDD, but I've discovered that I can't not eat most of the day, because it impacts my blood sugar. I'm glad it works for you!

Go Amber!!!! Isn't it crazy how different things work for us. The key is to figure it out and do what is right for each individual. 2013 is going to be the year of getting it off and keeping it off.

AF is the debil! Weight gain, hunger, bloatiness..ugh! Show her who's boss!

We all do what we gotta do to make things fit our lives and doable. I am thankful that I am not having to do anything drastic (so far) with JUDDD..for some reason, right now, my body absolutely loves the DD's and all it's healing properties. I'm thankful!! I have never had so much fun "dieting"

Saturday sounds like a plan, girlfriend! Have a super day!

Thanks everyone. Your continued support means the world to me.

Melanie and Laura - soooooo very glad you both have renewed spirit to get to goal this year. You both motivate me greatly.

Danielle - yes, the debil.

V - I'm glad you can relate to my issues; seeing how you've overcome a lot of the issues really motivates me.

Two things this morning. First the scale moved UP since I ate a LOT yesterday. Just couldn't stop eating. Felt emotional, bloaty, crampy, sad, etc. Not really sure why. I blame the debil AF.

Second thing, I saw that Melanie posted on her journal that she was going to re-read part of her journal and I thought that was a great idea. So I started to read her journal and then realized I should probably read my own. haha So I started to read my journal at page 1. Page 1 was an attempt in 2010 that went no where fast. Page 2 was the start of my attempt last year. It motivated me but also really depressed me. I forgot some of the things I said and felt. I was so motivated to get to onederland and here I sit at 250. Gah. I stopped reading at page 2.

Okay, today is a new day. One of my goals for this year is to stop focusing on the negative and on regrets in life. I have plenty and I need to let them go. I have to let them go and be positive with the now.
