Morning, all! I weighed with fear and trepidation and the news is both good and bad. The good: the half pound bump up is gone. The bad: exact same weight as Saturday. That smells like a stall to me. So I'll just have to outwait the sucker, I guess. An observation from my trip to week 4--it is not pleasant to eat 500 calories a day and not lose any weight. It's hard without the excitement to power you through the hunger!
Diva, I've noticed that opera singers seem to excel at jazz singing. (And it's nice to have a whole new musical career out there calling your name--heehee!)

Jessica, do an apple day! If it's too late to do it today, start tomorrow. Eat a maximum of 6 apples, drink minimally and wake up to the whoosh you've been desiring all these many years. The weight stays off after the apple day and you continue to lose more.
Diva, that would be fun, wouldn't it? I'm no singer but I used to say I was going to be a cruise ship nurse when I was back in school. Diva, you're one of those people on LCF that have names that cause me to think of a certain song. "Private Dancer" from Tina Turner always pops into my head when I read your name.

Good girl! I know the plan says to drink only as much water as you need to (keeping it very minimal) but I was in my coffee kick back then and I drank my usual 2 pots and still lost. I chewed sugarless gum, too. Still worked! But do what you feel.

Cheryl,
I've noticed some folks mentioning a "rebound" after an apple day. Have you noticed that at all, or does the scale stay down for you after you take an apple day? |

Ok, even though I REALLY want some chili for dinner, I'm going to have shrimp cocktail and some sliced cucumbers. Gotta try to hustle this stall along....

Apple day sounds wonderful to me.
I love apples and eat them so often anyway. Only I pare them and core them and cut them into wedges. Six to seven apples fixed this way and weighed out to 34 ounces, makes up 501 calories for a Down Day for me on JUDDD. It works well there too, so I'm excited to see if this won't break your stall, Jessica! |

I still don't think you're in a stall. I still think it's water weight from your TOM! Especially if it's the firs in 5 months. Sometimes I swell so bad that (and this very well may be too much information) I can't even get the tampon in!

Hey! How's the marathon training going, and how's P3? Are you finding the stabilization challenging? Tell me all about it!
(And you may well be right about the water thing. The only thing that makes me suspicious of a stall is that eerie "exact same weight down to the tenth of a pound" aspect...) |

Oh, one thing I noticed on P2...which might help someone or not...is that if I waited all day until dinner to eat then ate 250 calories worth of lean sirloin steak (I measured 5 ounces raw), and the rest of the calories with shrimp and cocktail sauce made with Heinz Low Sugar ketchup, horseradish, Tabasco and lemon juice, I was usually down about a pound the next day. I don't know if one has anything to do with the other, just an observation I had.

Hm, kind of protein day....that sounds delightful to me! I'm getting sick of all these apples and cabbage, but I am NEVER sick of meat!
Think I'll give that a try, maybe on Wednesday! I've been eating lots of shrimp with homemade cocktail sauce (I've been using canned tomato sauce, horseradish, cider vinegar and sweetener. So good that I can't imagine ever buying commercial cocktail sauce again!) |

Just weighed in to a .4 loss, so I'm in the horns of a dilemma. I was psyched to do the apple thing, but now I'm wondering if I should? Even with the movement, I am still (though only barely) in the land of 177. The .4 brings me to a "grand" (ok, not very grand) total of .6 lost this week. (and I only have one more weigh-in for the week.) So while it's not technically a stall, I think it would've been one in Dr. Simeons's day--since scales didn't even register half-pounds anyway.
I think I'm going to go ahead and do it, but I guess I've got until noon to decide. |

Oh I would seriously do it! Know why? If it works like everyone says it does, it will get you past your 177 and give you that intense boost you need right now! I'm just sayin...
