Do you add anything to the GY. Thinking about doing that today or tomorrow to help the scale go down some

I put vanilla extract, sweetener & cinnamon in it with a bit of water to mix. Others put berries in.

Hey, friends! I'm still alive. I went on the ride with Dave Sunday, and we had a super nice time. (But the seat on the new Victory is hard and uncomfortable, and after about an hour of total ride time, my butt was sore for two days. Gonna have to get a new seat for it.)

Then we met Hallie for a pre-birthday lunch so her dad could be there, and gave her some gifts. Her main gift is going to be a trip to Ikea to shop for a new duvet and duvet cover for her new place, which we will do on Friday. Monday, I went out shopping for some new light fixtures for my kitchen. I have the lighting company coming tomorrow to take out my old, 70s/80s-style recessed flourescent tube light fixture and replace it with cans. But while they're here, they're going to hang some pendant lights over my kitchen island. When I remodeled my kitchen 7 years ago, I kinda ran out of gas before I got to the ceiling and lights, and it really looks bad. I will be so glad to get this done.

Yesterday was Hallie's b-day, and I went to her office lunch party, and then took her out to dinner at her favorite place, the fondue restaurant, The Melting Pot.

Today I played bridge all day with my friend Mona and a couple of other friends. Mona is still off her feet with her knee replacement, so we organized this to help her cabin fever.

So yeah, still busy busy busy. And all the meals out did not help my diet one bit. I think I kept the brakes on pretty well, but did not lose anything. As of today, I'm back at it, though. Two steps forward, one step back.

I'm seriously thinking of doing a yogurt day myself tomorrow. Debby, what's the verdict? Did you find it helpful? It's a great way to break an overeating cycle, or shake your body out of a rut. And no, it does not cause any intestinal issues for me. I'm betting it was the magnesium that did it.

I should have plenty of time to post tomorrow while my electricians are here working. See you guys then!

That's too bad about that seat not being comfortable Who'd of thought... such a fancy bike should have a good seat! Corbin time!

The GY day worked well. I felt quite weak the next day. Is that normal? It could be that I was just tired from the marathon "company"... Not sure. But I dropped 2.2 lbs. Noticed my jeans are fitting better too, so I'm happy with that. I'm onto "rotating my calories" & adding wt. training & consistent exercise again. Because I ate so little (No access to wt. training & lacking foods I could eat) on the 6 week motorcycle trip I must of run my metabolism down. So, that's my new project & goal. I kind of like having a goal.

Debby, I think I'm spoiled by our Ultra Glide, because it has a backrest, armrests and a well-padded seat. This one is more like our Kawasaki Vulcan of years past--built for speed and not comfort!

I always felt just fine after my yogurt days. However, after so many rounds of hcg and JUDDD, I think my poor, long-suffering body is just accustomed to periodic deprivation. I do wonder if the weakness was to do with the magnesium and it's subsequent results? Who knows. It's always interesting to experiment.

I am VERY excited because the light fixture installers are here and about to start work!

Here is my *before* photo. I can't wait to post an *after.*

P.S. Forgot to add--I did not get to Trader Joe's for yogurt, so today I'm doing a regular low calorie day. Will get to a yogurt day early next week, I think.

Also, gonna come back and post a pic of Dave and his new "baby" from our ride Sunday morning!

You can see that little raised bump I have to sit on. Not too cushy!

Oh, yeah! That seat looks like it is built for one rider. Sorry it was so uncomfortable for you. Shopping for a new seat "for two" will be fun. You going to let him pick one out? Thanks for the before picture and the one of the bike.

Looking forward to seeing the after shots and the pendant lights, too. I think I know what those are but I'll have to see if they are what I think they are. Is your bathroom completed yet? Never got to see the pics of the bathroom so don't forget to post some of those, too.

Happy Birthday (belated), Hallie! Hope she's enjoying her new apartment. Have a great day, Jessica.

You have been busy! I like the AH Slater's too, but I love the feeling in the HB one. I've done the bacon cheeseburger salad there (sticking to LC) and love it! bacon!! You've been having quite a fun time and to STS with all of that? That's a big victory! You're doing great. Keep plugging away!

Debby-the GyCD does clean me out, I feel like the probiotics are part of its success. Drink plenty of water and you should feel fine.

I'm works out still, and used to it now. I think it may actually be a routine now . I'm away next Thurs-Mon. So we'll see if I get right back to it when I'm home. That'll be the test.

Hey friends. Workers are still hard at it here. When they finish, they will texture the ceiling but it will still need to be painted. I have painters coming AFTER I do the master bathroom, so it'll have to stay unpainted for a bit.

Cheryl, the demolition on the bathroom will start on Monday the 9th, so I have some time before I have to get that *before* taken. I will be deeply ashamed to take it. My bathroom looks awful. Ugh. I mean, for 25 years old, I guess it's ok, but you can't look too closely. Ha!

My kitchen is completely draped over with plastic and taped shut, so I couldn't get in there to get any lunch and I was HUNGRY! I remembered that I had some pecans and a bottle of diet root beer in the garage fridge, so that was lunch. HA! Protocol? Hardly.

Yeah, thanks Julie, it was very unusual for me to be effected that way. I always take magnesium, so next time I won't take it on the same day. I accidentally bought twice as much GY as I needed, so I will do another GY day before the use by date comes up. Either that, or use it for my lunches till its gone.
It does taste yummy Jenmay.

You don't have to show us a before pic of your bathroom but we surely want to see some after shots. Your home is going to be amazing when you get all finished. Glad you found something to eat!

Hey, friends! Thanks for visiting my page so faithfully. Means a lot.

I'm on my way to help Hallie clean her old apartment and then our field trip to IKEA. Probably won't get back here until tonight, unless I get a chance to check in on my phone. I commit to you that I will eat in such a way to help me reach my goals, despite probably two meals out today.

Later, friends.

I said those same words myself today, without the word "commit." You were always the queen of staying on-plan no matter what was going on or where you needed to go. Have fun at IKEA.

Grueling 12 hour day yesterday. Left home at 11ish a.m., got home at 11ish p.m. Left her old place in move-in condition, although they told her they will charge her a cleaning fee no matter what. It was more just a point of personal pride for us. (Plus we hope that will make them more likely to give her most of her deposit back.)

Spent the rest of the day getting stuff at IKEA and then assembling it in her 90+ degree apartment. (When it's in the 90s in the beach cities, you KNOW it's hot!)

Her new boyfriend came over and assembled the bookshelves she bought. They were just too big and heavy for us to manage. So I finally got to meet him. He's from Ireland and is adorable.

We ate lunch out. I had fish tacos and black beans. We forgot to eat any dinner, so I think I kept my calories pretty nice and low, thus woke up with a violently growling tummy this morning.

I'm off to the alumni watch party. HOORAY FOR COLLEGE FOOTBALL! It's my favorite time of year!

Later, friends.

That's hot! No a/c in the new place yet? That must have been brutal. I hope she gets most of her deposit money back since you put so much effort into cleaning the place she just vacated. I know they always do the carpeting but they shouldn't charge her for anything more than that. How close to the beach will she be? Her boyfriend sounds very cute.

I wish I could get into watching sports on tv. It just does nothing for me. I prefer watching individual sporting events for some reason, where each person is in competition with the others. Like figure skating, downhill skiing, etc. Tennis and Golf put me to sleep.

Have you stopped weighing yourself or are you just keeping the numbers under your hat? Just curious. Have a wonderful, restful day today.

Hey, friends! I'm out here in the world, just running around like a chicken with my head cut off. All my responsibilities are starting again, and my time is short for the internet just now.

Our watch party turned out great--we had 40 alums turn up! (And we won our game, which is always nice!)

I've been serving on the committee at church to seek an interim pastor--there have been about five meetings in the last week, interviewing candidates and then meeting to evaluate and rank the people we interviewed. Whew. But we extended an offer to someone last night. I'm waiting to hear this morning that she accepted our offer. The complication is that she has another offer to interim at another church. I am PRAYING that she takes us. She's perfect for us. If not--back to the drawing board and more meetings.

Yesterday, I spent the day in my office at church and sent out about 50 postcard invitations to my choir kick-off parties. Hope I get great turn-outs for these. We figure our always-popular music ministry needs to step up our game during this time of turmoil for our church.

I have been low-carbing it since Saturday. It's the easiest thing for me to do on "auto-pilot," while I don't really have the focus to follow any complicated plan. I know what to buy at the grocery store, what to eat in restaurants, etc. I probably won't lose an ounce on it, but I definitely won't gain. That's all I've got in me right now.

P.S. FINALLY getting my hair colored and cut today. I've got a full inch of gray roots (thank goodness for my brown spray-on root color!) and it's too long and too limp and weighed down. Yuk. Gives me low self-esteem. I know that tomorrow I'll wake up a thousand times perkier just having the weight of it off!

I'm a Presbyterian, Heidi.

That's so cool about your parents. Being an interim is a special calling and I think it takes special gifts. The woman we are trying to hire is an interim specialist trained to handle the specific challenges of a church in transition. She's not just filling the time until she finds a long-term gig--she's doing what she feels called to do. Still haven't heard what her answer is. On pins and needles!

Howdy, Low Carb Friends. Still here, still trying to Atkins it, still busy. My bathroom remodel starts at 7:30 tomorrow morning, so I'll be stuck here in the house waiting, with lots of time to post. (Assuming they don't have to turn the power off much. Don't know what to expect, or how fast it'll go.) I will take that "before" photo Cheryl asked about tomorrow before they start, though!

I still have hopes that I can get settled down enough to do a round of hcg, a REAL round that I don't get distracted a day or to into. But obviously, I'm not in a mental/emotional place to be able to do it just now.

Dave's home this weekend, and we need to get ready for church. Oh--and we got the interim we offered, and she starts in 2 weeks. Hooray!

I can spot a Presbyterian from across the country! I'm Presbyterian, too! Actually, I know a man who served on the National Presbyterian Youth Ministry Council with me who came from Orange County. Corey...I can't remember his last name but he always wore Converse. He's got to be a pastor by now, as are most of the youth who served alongside me. The PCUSA is a very VERY small world. My mom and step-dad are in the denomination as well. Wouldn't it be funny if it was my mom? Ha. Not likely as she is serving in the middle of the country right now, and attempting a move closer to me and not further away, but she goes where she's called, for sure!

I like how Atkins can be a fall back for you. It's nice to know that you can at least stay where you're at, weight wise. I struggle in the evenings and on weekends with it. In my maintenance, I decided during the week for two meals each day I eat Induction style, so I can pretty much eat whatever I want the rest of the time. It's been working fine, though I have to say, I really enjoyed watching my numbers fall.
