Nice that you have the Blackberry so you can let us know you're alive out there! I'm the last person in the world without a smart phone (I have a dumb phone!
) If my power goes out, I'm screwed, because I have an iPad 1, and it needs my WiFi to be functional in order for me to have internet.)Be safe, and DO run some water into some large containers--maybe fill your bathtub for a backup supply, too! |

I will do that. I have never used my Kindle for that purpose, though. Not sure how to even do that! Guess I should google and learn how.
Smart phones rock! But they ruin you for any other cell phone you'll ever have in your life. I'm about ready for an upgrade. I've had my trusty blackberry for almost 3 years without any real trouble! Thankful for that. |

OMG, Jess!!! I am SO encouraged by your weigh in this morning!!!
Here's a thing....I put my orange AND my chicken in the slaw today...and I have to say, I think I've created something magic! It tastes SO good and looks like it belongs on a restaurant menu. It is very pretty! The orange is REALLY a good addition by itself and I figured, what the heck, I'll just throw in the chicken to make it easier to pack for my lunch at the studio. YAY. I'm keeping this recipe forever! |

OK, so up a pound this a.m., but not too concerned. Had to weigh at 6:30, rather than 8:30 or 9:00, so I think I'm probably fine.
Off to sing a duet with the birthday girl in church! |

yeah...I don't weigh Sundays...it is never what I want to see. Have a great sing this am! Dr. for me in the AM. I'll talk to him about my BMI obsession and see what he thinks about my goals. I am thinking I might go for a few more days, stabilize, get back to my exercise, then around Thanksgiving, start JUDDD, to see if I can get down to Johnson's magic BMI of 21. I also think JUDDD sounds like a great way to handle my ridiculous schedule in Nov/Dec (shakes on the run on down days...that is so easy) and if I plan well, would possibly make my holidays more enjoyable since I could enjoy some indiscretions without long term consequences. Have to see what Dr says about 500 calorie days for me w/o HCG. (diabetes) I think it would be ok as long as I didn't do too few carbs on the down days.

Good day, ladies! I'm one of the few around here who didn't lose their electricity! No damage here where I live but terrible in neighborhing towns. I'm seeing pics on the Television news and they are startling. Thank you for your prayers!
Jessica, I think Diva's idea not to weigh on Sundays is a good one. Think of it as Sabbathing! Diva, your JUDDD plan sounds very practical for you. I hope your Dr agrees! |

Cheryl, woke up wondering about you today. So relieved all is well.
Deb, that six about your modem. Hope you get it sorted easily. Sometimes mine just needs to be unplugged and reset. Hoping to figure out how to post a video of hallie's and my duet. It went well, Especially considering that the soprano 1/birthday girl didn't go to bed until 4:00! |

Diva, I didn't realize your name was Deb! Now I know.
Jessica, I'd love to see that video, too. I hope you can figure out how to upload it here. Maybe to Youtube first and then link here? Thanks for thinking of me! Actually, I got off really easy with this storm. And now the humidity is a thing of the past. There is such an awesome, dry breeze right now and it's heavenly. |

Jess, I opened your journal and suddenly have a craving for chili. I wonder how many times you've said the word chili in your journal...seriously, now I NEED some. Just sayin.

That's the native Texan in me I guess, Heidi. Chili is the food of, ahem, *my people.*
I just finished off my dinner--2000 calories today. Hoping this (eating to BMR) is really working! Still working on the video thing! |

Seriously, she looks ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like me. If I hadn't been right there when I gave birth to her, I'd think she was switched at birth. (She does look quite a lot like her dad, though!)

Well, she is a knock-out and so are you. So there!
I'm up late, so fully medicated. Wheels are turning round and round in my disatisfied R3P2 mind. I'm thinking it may be time to go see Dr Atkins for a while. I've been doing the whole low fat, low calorie thing since middle of March. Even during the summer "off" months I kept calories and fat low. Now I want something savory and rich! I am going to reevaluate these midnight ramblings tomorrow, in the light of my next scale weight. Over and out for tonight. (((HUGS)))

I've been able to add back in cheese (been working on a Linda Sue's White Castle Pie for several days!), greek yogurt, and strawberries with heavy cream, not to mention steaks, bacon, salads with full fat dressing.... To eat like this and maintain a steady weight: priceless! I am thinking that if I stay this stable for the coming two weeks (today will be day 2 of my second week of P3), I will go ahead and move right back into Round 2 and try to remove those last pounds. I don't want to be hasty, though. You don't want to get impatient when you're in the middle of a miracle. So if I feel I need to, I will extend the P3 or do a P4 before I try to lose again--we'll just see how it unfolds!

Here's a pic of me with the the birthday girl. As you can see, I've got kind of a barbra streisand nose thing going on, whereas she has her dad's little turned up number! (And yes, I did have a TINY bit of birthday champagne. No cake, though!) Also a photo of the whole family from Mexico in July.

You're both gorgeous! I don't look a thing like my mom and I think it makes both of us sad. I got her personality though, for which I am eternally grateful. We have a blast together!

I just did a search for "BMR calculator," and it came up on all kinds of sites. Apparently, there is a specific mathematical formula that is used to calculate your calorie needs based on your activity level.
