Not your normal fat girl

Hi.

My name is Misty and as the title states, I'm not your normal fat girl. Here's the thing. I'm fat. Yep, there I said it. Here's the other thing...I'm fat and I don't hate it. Yep, there I said that too. I'm a confident fat girl. I know it's a rarity that many people never understand, but I've always liked me, regardless of my size. I don't think I'm a skinny girl trapped in a fat girl body. I just think I'm Misty. I'm a college graduate with 3 degrees, a terrific job and a wife to man that's definitely a Misty fan

So, what am I doing on a board dedicated to low carb weight loss? Well, I'm living life with D. I've was diagnosed at a Type 2 diabetic in 2006 and after a very informing exam by a fantastic ophthalmologist, it seems that the symptoms started when I was 9 and in the third grade. BLAH

I've done low carb before. I've never done a true induction, but I'm smart enough to know that I can't follow any diabetic educator's advice and eat 180 carbs a day...just isn't going to happen.

I go through stages. I eat very, very well for months at a time and then I tire of it...rebel and eat whatever the crap I want to for weeks, before starting the cycle all over again.

Everyone suffers from it. My husband, my family, my staff and most importantly me.

I've given myself one more week to eat like crap and then it's an extended induction for me.

So, we'll see how this goes!

If you read any of this...thanks

Hi everyone!

I guess I've neglected my little space here. My blood sugar numbers have dropped dramatically, but even with 3 weeks of a clean induction, I lost no weight.

I'm sure it's the insulin and I'm very lucky that I've maintained my starting weight and haven't had to worry about a gain.

I've been sick the last couple of days and fell off the wagon. Back at it tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by

It's still running in the mid to high 200s...even when the day numbers are normal. Better today than yesterday, but still never where I need it to be.

Yes...I've been on induction, with a few cheats for about a month now. At least I've seen some good numbers this time. The last time, my numbers stayed so high.

I'll get there...eventually!

That's the attitude to have Misty, this isn't a race. It's made a huge difference in my own journey. I have always placed pressure on getting to a weight by a certain time in the past and it never stuck. Yes I have monthly goals, but those are just to motivate me, if I don't them, I don't freak out.

It's definatly the key to being able to do this long term, not just a quick fix or a fad diet. I believe I'm in it for the long haul after being able to do it for a year which is longer than I've ever stuck with anything.

Hope you have a fantastic day Misty, show off that new haircut!

Why the rush? You'll be in that home for the long haul so take your time, that's what I would do.

I sadly still have a few boxes in my closet from when I moved here six years ago, lol.
