I want to be settled. I have moved 12 times in 11 years. We didn't even bother to hang any pictures or anything at this apartment to make it feel homey since we knew that it would be temporary.

I want it to feel homey and I want to start having people over. I miss entertaining and my friends that live far away. I want them to have a place to stay when they come!

You could come stay the weekend and I'll teach you how to cook

That is one thing I have yet to do after six years of living here, hanging pictures and making it more homey. I look at the walls sometimes and they look so bare.

When I lived in my apartment, I couldn't really afford artwork. So, I went online and found free butterfly, flower and other photography that I liked that didn't have a copy right. I sent it to walgreens and had them printed at 8 x 10 and then went to the dollar store and bought really pretty frames. Instant art for like 50 bucks total!

Yes. It's a layered bob. It hasn't looked that way again..lol I told him to cut it so I don't have to worry about it looking crazy when I don't have time to blow dry in the morning.

Thank you

How was your weekend?

Morning Misty!

I keep looking at the food pictures in the Induction Food Porn thread. Can I just have you come be my own private cook? LC would be so easy if you had food that looked that good all the time, lol.

Sure! Just pay half the bills :P

Thank you, but I must admit that about only half my meals look like that. The rest are just things I throw together.

My mom wasn't a very adventurous cook. We had the same things week after week and once I moved out and decided I did enjoy cooking, I started trying at least one thing new a week.

Once we get moved and settled, I want to try at least 2 new recipes a week. It's really hard when you are cooking for 1...been there done that. It's a little easier cooking for 2, but not really since my hubby isn't a lc person. He will, however, eat what I put in front of him for the most part!

Maybe I could host a cooking retreat or something? That would be fun!

Have a great day. Sorry that you didn't sleep well. You could send the storms to us...we need rain and badly!

I have faith that things will calm down Misty. There are times in life when everything seems to be colliding when it comes to stressful situations. Stay strong!

Morning Misty! I took your advice and found some really nice prints online that I want to get made off at Walgreens or somewhere. I lucked out and found some really pretty stuff, lots of landscapes which I like.

Eh...I think that's why I haven't been posting here. Nothing seems to be working as it should right now and I'm just really tired. I take at least an hour nap every day and then I'm asleep by 10 each night. I take vitamins..so hopefully once I catch up on everything..my body will feel satisfied.

I will admit that having a pool is awesome. I did 5 full laps today. I haven't gotten any real exercise in a while...the water is frigid..but it was worth it in the end!

How are you doing?

The pool sounds fun!!! I love the water. Things have been going good for me... Still no scale movement but waiting patiently. Have been having bathroom issues though so dealt with that over the weekend.

I guess it's time to dust off this journal. I can't believe it's almost been two years since I've posted. Bad fatty.

So, here's a quick update I guess. My husband and I moved into our house and in March of 2012 he lost his job. About that time, my health took a nosedive and I ended up in the hospital a few times. Once with a staph infection and once with bronchitis and my first asthma attack. In that time, my mom also had a heart attack. Did I mention that I had broken my foot before all this and spent almost 7 months in a boot? Yeah. It was crazy.

My husband found a new job last August and we have been trying to dig our way back out of debt. I finally saw a podiatrist who diagnosed me with torsal tunnel syndrome...basically carpal tunnel of the ankle. I had to have about 4 shots, but I am much better now.

Fast forward to now. I celebrated my 35th birthday and my husband celebrated his 49th. Due to the sequester, I was laied off at the end of April. It was 3 days before my birthday and a week before my 3 year anniversary with the company. I had already interviewed with someone and received the phone call 2 weeks after my lay off that I was hired for the new position. I was #1 out of 32 applicants. Needless to say, it was the confidence booster I needed to get my life back on track.

As for eating, we tried out the paleo diet back in January and I am now a believer. I had zero success with traditional atkins, but lost 16 lbs my first week on paleo.

However, if you read the first part of this journal, you know that I have this habit of doing well and then kicking all of that to the curb. Well, I'm at the heaviest I've been in a good long while. It's time to get serious again.

My husband and I have finally gotten around to getting some things done in our house, mainly painting and new floors. Well, we having been eating out like crazy and not really paying attention to what we have been consuming and that stops today.

One of my goals has to been to get more fish into our diets. We have shellfish or fish 3 days a week. The rest is devoted to beef, pork and chicken.

I've stated from the get go that this has been more about my blood sugar rather than weight, but right now..I'm setting a wl goal of at least 100 lbs. Here we go.

Thanks for reading

Misty

Best of luck to you, have you tried juddd? I have never been able to stay on plan and I just finished my 3rd week!! Some people do it low carb, I don't though. It isn't quick but it is something that you can stick with.
