<bowing> Thank you everyone for all your kind words and encouragments-- they mean everything!! I am completely engulfed making this Holoku for my SIL, so I'm so sorry I haven't been a post 'ho like I usually am! I really want to get around to all your journals and make snarky comments, because I miss you, but I'm too exhausted. My son is also out of school, and summer decided to arrive, so the slip'n'slide was out! No, I did not make any slides, the flabby sides of my hips would have dragged off the edges and bunched it all up under me and tangled me up and of course I'd pull a muscle somewhere. I was better off taking pictures instead.

Anyway, I called it-- 247.6 this morning-- B.L.O.A.T. City! I didn't do myself any favors today, either-- I had all the leftovers, plus some nuts and salt salt and more salt. I'm glad I don't get to the German deli too often! Time to just drink water and water and more water and eventually I'll even out again.

I'll make my quick report and then I'm off to veg in front of the TV-- my brain is a little mushy from the sun and all the thinking about Holoku trains and ruffles.

XOXOXO to all you guys.

You actually made me laugh out loud on the slip and slide comments! I'd find a way to hurt myself on it for sure! We had a huge (covered our trusses for the garage!) piece of plastic spread out in the yard one day that would have made a wonderful slip and slide...DH didn't see my side of it..."Just fold it up!" ....Grrrrr....no fun! Party pooper!

Finish that gown so we can see, and so we can get snarky comments!

lol, Kitty! The slipnslide we have is just a piece of garbage. Who designed this thing?? Too thin, not long enough, a "speed bump" a worthless "carwash curtain" and a 1 inch "pool" at the bottom. And don't get me started about the little tube with holes that is supposed to sprinkle the water-- it always twisted out to the lawn. Just junk. I think we'll be headed to Home Depot and getting a huge piece of plastic for an amazing-- but plain!! slipnslide... like what you had!

The gown will take a while-- waiting for the fabric from Hawaii and her measurements. In the meantime I am researching Holoku (I've never made one!) and getting the pattern and design just right. Wedding gowns always scare the crap out of me. They must be PERFECT. A costume you can fudge a little or hide stuff with bows and pearls and gold lace and such. Not this! It will be in her wedding photos for all time and seen by generations of family. Yikes. Wedding gowns ARE scary!

Hope all of you have a lovely weekend! Hopefully I will have time sometime soon to give each of you the individual love you deserve. Good night!

My positive for the day: Haven’t been to the local fabric store in a while, and my favorite saleslady said, “Hey, what are you doing? Losing weight? You look good!” WHOOPIE! My first public comment about my weight loss—took 35 pounds for anyone to notice!

Angela - You are doing great! I'm sure lots of water will flush the salt and bloat out. I'm looking forward to seeing the dress.

I always hated slip and slides. We had one in our backyard when they first came out and I always went careening off the thing and ended up covered in mud and grass clippings.

WooHoo on homemade slip and slides! We had heavy duty plastic. Look in the industrial areas for this. Ask for heavy guage stuff! It will last forever, and is good to have around for emergency covers too! Get a nice big piece so no accidents! LOL

As always, your meals are making me hungry! Love the pic.s! They may be simple, but look, wonderful! Presentation, presentation, presentation...

I'm sure you will make a spectacular gown!

WooHoo on your positive from the fabric store!

---I am having a lost weekend--- still low carb but SNACK MONSTER GOT ME! I'm eating everything in sight. My weekend so far has consisted of a funeral, Father's Day and a party that was shut down by the cops. I haven't been to one of those since 1992!

I'll be back later. Love you guys!
