Thanks lcjunkie!

Couch 2 5K is a running/walking program that uses interval training to slowly build your endourance over 9 weeks. You literally go from couch potato to running 30 min straight. I'm still in awe of how well it's worked for me.

You can check it out here: Cool Running | The Couch-to-5K ® Running Plan If you have an ipod, you can dowload podcasts for free from itunes that tell you exactly when to run & walk. I really can't say enough good things about the program. Good luck if you choose to pursue it- you won't be disappointed.

You can do it Ceecee! It really is an amazing program. If you find it hard, you can always repeat a week until feels right. Good luck- please keep me updated on your progress!

Today was running day! I took it pretty easy and did just under 5k, but walked a bit in the middle. While I was running, a couple passed me on their bikes. Turns out, it was someone I knew from way back. They slowed down to my pace so we could chat. Not sure what they were thinking, cause I was barely able to breathe, let alone talk! Anywhoo...the woman was asking how long I've been running, and she invited me to do a 5k with her this fall! I felt like I was invited to join a really exclusive club! LOL

I don't think I'd actually race though, mostly because if I finished last, I'd feel like a huge failure, and I know I'M NOT. When I get to the point that I can do a 5k in under 30 min, THEN I'll register for a race so I can kick some butt. I'm a sore loser I guess.

Finished my son's bday cake today, and I have to say, it turned out pretty good. We're celebrating his 2nd bday with family tomorrow with a jungle themed party. I can't wait!

Check it out here

And, yes, I will be eating a slice of cake!

Yup, all three are mine, 5, 3 & 2. They're all adorable IMO

I started that blog about a yr ago, as kind of a scrapbook. My inlaws all live across the country, so they use it to keep updated on the kids.

Thanks ladies I'm so blessed to have these awesome kids & Hubby. Seriously, he really is much better looking when his face isn't ballooned up like a caveman! LOL

The party went really well. Everyone loved the cake & it tasted great too. I'm up 1.1 today, but I had two slices of cake and didn't get my water in, so I deserve it. But dang, I'm tired of the 90s. I've been hovering between 191 & 189 for almost a month! It must be another set point- hopefully the last.

Back to the party, we almost had to spend the night in ER. The birthday boy fell off the slide, and landed on his arm. I was so afraid his wrist was broken, but it didn't swell at all (though apparently most breaks don't) and he was moving it around fine once he started opening presents. Today he only complains if he bumps it, but is still moving it around fine, lifting and holding toys like normal, so I think he's okay. Phew. What a scare.

As for the 5k- I'm stil afraid that running competitively would ruin it for me. Now, if only I had some LCFs who could do it with me...any takers? LOL

Thanks CeeCee, maybe I will sign up for one in the spring. My mom & sisters have started c25k after watching me do it! Maybe it's something we can all do together.

I went for a run last night- I did my usual route (4.8k) but wasn't tired, so I added a few blocks. I ran 40 min straight and wasn't even winded. It was crazy! I never in a million years would have thought I was capable of that!

I'm still hovering at 189....GRRRR...

I went for a run last night- 6.8k - 43 min running/ 8 min walking. I walked in 2 min intervals. I really thought I'd be able to do the whole thing, but man, it was a rough one! It was windy, the road was really uneven, and there were hills. AND>> Halfway though I felt my blister from Monday open up. Ouch! I still beat my time by 5 min, but I don't think I'll be doing that route for a while. (That's what I say now anyway....in a few days I'll think I over-exagerated and will repeat the whole fiasco)

On a totally personal note....My sis and I are starting a kids party business! We supply the cake, decorations, photography, and extras like balloon animals & face painting. Anything and everything you would need for a party in the comfort of your own home. We're working hard to be ready to open up by mid-Sept so we can advertise at a local Mom expo.

188.4 Wohoo! FINALLY got past 189.

Today should be a running day, but we may go shopping later instead. I may do my ballet workout before DH gets home and go for a run tomorrow. I really have to get some kind of exercise in on the days I don't run. My arms & tummy need a ton of toning.

We're going to use all of our parties as examples, but will plan to do custom parties for customers. We can do specific characters (Dora) or general themes (tea party). We're really excited We'd be happy doing like, one or two parties a month for now, so hopefully we'll get some business from the expo.

Ugh. I just got finished a 2 day binge. It started with the party food at my Dad's bday party, then more party leftovers for lunch, which led to pizza & ice cream "since I was cheating anyhow"... Yup, I totally lost control. I bet I was up 10 lbs just from water weight last night

I'm so busy & stressed with starting this business, trying to cram in a few more weeks of fun family stuff before summer's done, and working on getting our curriculum ready for Sept (did I mention I homeschool my kids?) Starting the school year is always a huge stress for me - I hate the back-to-school build up that comes Aug 1st and lasts all month.

I've been thinking about taking a small break from LC. I'm soooo tired of logging every food that touches my lips, daily weighing and posting, then comparing my losses (or lack of) to the awesome losers on this site. So, I'm staying on plan, and running, but am taking a break from all the logging and such. I'll still check in on my LCFs, but probably won't be posting much. If all goes well, I may stop logging my food altogether. I mean, I know by now what's on plan and what isn't.
