Yikes! You found me! I've been hiding under a stack of cookies - eating my way out of course I need to get this eating under control before the holidays. I've been off plan since the last week of Nov (my bday week...cakes, dinner out, you get the idea) and now with holiday parties every weekend I'm catching myself on a downward spiral. I was also having trouble with my wisdom teeth again and on heavy antibiotics & painkillers for a full week Thankfully the surgery is scheduled for Jan 4th - just hoping no more problems until then. Haven't been weighing or tracking - need to start tomorrow. Workouts have been good, though I'm a bit frustrated with the running in the cold. My Christmas list is all cold weather running gear lol - compression socks, gloves, energy gels for long runs My longest run to date was 8 miles last weekend- I averaged 11:30 min/mile - including walk breaks. I'm no longer worried at all about finishing within the marathon time limit.

Oh yeah, santa pics...please excuse the giant size

I can't believe Christmas is over! We had such an amazing week, the kids were spoiled like crazy and we even had a white Christmas. My hubby spoiled me too - mostly running gear He even got me the cutest running shoes - hot pink for my race! Plus a hydration belt, compression socks and gloves. I find it so weird that I'm identified as a runner. Even a year ago I wouldn't have guessed I'd be here, doing long training runs in the snow for a half marathon - in Disney at that! My sister wrote the sweetest message in my Christmas card about how I've inspired her to run. I almost cried. I'm a runner for life, maybe my kids will join me when they're older. I finally feel like I have control over my life - I've proven I can do anything I put my mind to.

I've been consistent with my workouts, I thought I would go stir crazy the two days I didn't get to the gym. (LOL - I know, who knew?) I can't wait to break in my new shoes!

Yeah Amber, I'm LOVING the gym!

11.6 miles yesterday in 2:28 - not bad considering how much ice & snow there was. I won't lie, it was really hard. I was tired from the gym the day before (I usually take off the day before a long run, but HAD to break in my new shoes lol) and it was windy and snowing and cold. Still a success even though my pace was a bit slower than I was aiming for. Only 1.5 miles to go until I hit goal Florida humidity will be a cake walk compared to this Canadian winter. I'm so excited I could burst! I've started planning my costume - a pink tutu, pink running tank with princess neckline, pink arm warmers, tiara and of course my hot pink shoes

Food has been HORRIBLE - cookies & chips everyday lol. I'm not worried though, I know I'll buckle down in the new year.

Happy New Year ladies!

Happy New Year!
Time to get serious. Finished the last of my holiday goodies today with Chinese takeout (our New Years Day tradition). Tomorrow will start being strict lc - fat fast until Friday when I get my wisdom teeth out, then protein shakes and yogurt until I can eat solids.
I'm getting kinda nervous about the teeth- everyone says I'm crazy to do the "conscious sedation" instead of being knocked out. Honestly, I've been in so much pain lately I'll be happy to be rid of them.
I can't wait to get back on the wagon and move this weight once and for all. 2013 is going to be an amazing year, I have the princess half marathon, Disney, and my brother's wedding to look forward to. I'm so excited!!!!

It was easy-peasy! My face is swollen, but I'm in much less pain than I have been for a long while - with less than half the meds! I even did an hour on the elliptical today

Ugh. Feeling pretty crappy this morning. My face is swollen (I have my fat face back lol) but not too sore. I just can't eat and the antibiotics are making me I had a big protein shake for breakfast - hoping it will give me strength for my run this afternoon. I know I felt much better yesterday after hitting the gym...hope getting my blood pumping will work today too.

The run went really well, we did a 2:1 run/walk ratio and averaged a 12:30/mile. I found it really easy actually, and pushed my sister some, then had to slow so she could walk a bit more. Man it feels good to be the fast one!

LOl @ wired mouth I'm getting frustrated now, I just want to eat a salad and a big ol steak but my mouth is still too sore. It's like the insides of my cheeks were so swollen my teeth were rubbing them raw. Ouch.

I ordered some gel polish and a uv light onine, waiting for that to come this week. I hope it works as well (and dries as hard) as the salon stuff. Can't wait to make my hands pretty again!

More good news: I booked a room in Disney for the night before the race! My parents have rented a condo for the week for everyone, but it's about 90 min away and the runners have to be there for 4am So....my sisters and I will be staying in the Movie Resort while our kids and hubbies stay in the condo. Aren't I the most horrible mother ever? It would just be too pricey for everyone to stay, plus we'll only be there for a few hours, I doubt any sleeping will happen anyway I feel so bad for my sister that's preggo - she's the one who started running with me and now she has to sit back and watch us do this amazing race. We'll just have to do it again sometime

Have a great day ladies!

Woohoo! I ran 5k today in 34 min - a new record! It was also the longest I've run non-stop in a while. I only walked once, just long enough to work out a cramp. Our weather is nuts, last week was so cold...now we're looking at 50s for this week. WTH?
So I looked in my mouth with a flashlight and saw the damage on the insides of my cheeks - not cool! They are really raw, no wonder they hurt. Swelling has gone down a lot though, so I just have to wait for it to heal up.
Tomorrow I plan to eat lc (no more cheating - I stocked up on eggs and sf pudding) and hit the gym for strength training. I haven't been doing any strength for the last few weeks. The gym has been crazy busy and the weight room has been way too crowded since xmas.
