Thanks Ladies

Tiggy- I have a Nikon D3000 - I got a new lens (35mm f1.8) around Christmas, it's the only one I use now - soooo universal.

Yeah, we learned a few yrs ago that hikes break up long car rides really nicely and wear them out so they're ready to sleep again. Plus, hiking has been a fav. passtime of mine since I was a kid

Ahh thats a nice camera. I have the D5000 and actually have that lens also. Its a nice one but I found it not as versatile as I would like so I keep forgetting to pack it. Takes BRILLIANT photos though - portraits especially.

Clever with the make the kids fall asleep idea! Peace in the car

Yeah Tiggy, ideally I'd like to have wide angle and zoom too, but if I have to choose, I prefer fast so I make do with my 35 - still much better than the kit lens

So I've been struggling since vacation - in every sense. Diet, exercise, mental stability lol. Ok, I'm not losing my mind, but it took me all last week to recouperate. This week has been good so far, aside from a glass or two of strawberry wine last night (and the few handfulls of chips ). Thankfully, the cravings are mostly gone and I can put off doing the fat fast for a bit longer. I ran on monday (5k run/walk) - 43 min, not horrible considering I've been away from it for a couple weeks and it's damn hot outside. Yesterday I did the shred week 2 and today my body is in full protest mode. I'm sore in places I didn't think possible

Thanks Melissa

So I've been in a slump since vaca - I came home with a cold, and even worse my ezcema has been acting up. I used the cold as an excuse to be lazy, and put off working out. I've finally gotten rid of the rash on my arms & legs, but my hands are still cracked and really sore. It sounds pretty trivial, but it has really affected my mood in an awful way. I thought I had it under control, but lost all self-control this week and completely fell off the wagon. I'd start each day well, but by dinner I was chomping down pizza with cookies for dessert. And exercise? Ugh. I haven't been completely sedentary, but pretty close. I got caught (once again) in the eat-like-crap-feel-like-bigger-crap-so-I-eat-like-crap cycle. I think I even saw a glimpse of 200 on the scale!

Today, I re-committed myself (yes, again) to eating right & working out daily. I found a 5, 10k & 1/2 marathon training plan on pinterest and I'm going to follow it starting now. I woke up this morning and did the shred (level 2) before breakfast, then showered & actually did my hair (that's a big deal, most days I'm lucky if I brush it before pulling it back!) and make-up before spending the rest of the day doing housework, and a 5k run/walk with my SIL before dinner. I feel amazing. How do I manage to forget the runner's high that comes when I'm shaking like a leaf after a hard workout?

I will start the fat fast in the morning. Today was mostly ff portions, aside from dinner at mom & dad's but it was still lc. No weigh in this week. I don't want a bad ## to mess with my head. Goodness knows I need to keep my eye on the prize My workout plan is to follow the 10k training guide, using the shred on my strength days, and zumba for cross training. I'm actually looking forward to the speed training runs (I must be going nuts lol).

And...I'll be back to tracking so y'all will have to bear with me:

B- hb egg, 3 slices bacon
L- hb egg
D- pork roast, 1c salad, 2t sour cream
S- protein balls, iced coffee, jello mousse

1300 cal, 16 net carbs
58% fat, 31% pro, 7% carbs

You can do it hun, I was thinking about running, being on vacation and stuff can I wake my butt up to go run, I am debating if I can do a 5k for my B-day I have not run really since last year, but maybe I need to do it to push myself. Now I have less than 6 weeks or so to work up to it.

Thanks ladies! Thank you so much for the love & support you gals have shown me.

Amber- DO IT, DO IT, DO IT!!!! With your fitness level, 6 weeks is plenty of time! Have you gone out at all since quitting the smokes? Plus, I bet the missing skin will help too.

Today was a strenth training day - I did the shred (level 3) then spent the day swimming with the kids. Ha, I even did mini-races with my sis & SIL I may regret it tomorrow, but I also went for a 7k run/walk after dinner. It was HOT. And I wore my sweaty neprene shorts - I literally stood in a puddle when I walked in the door. Tomorrow is our official running day, but only 5k so hopefully I won't be too sore. Funny thing is I remember when 5k seemed like so far, and now it's my starting point. On one hand, I hate that I haven't lost anything in the last 10 months or so, but I also think it's been a blessing because I don't have any major skin issues. Even my lower belly pouch has tightened up in recent months.

Fat fast day 1 is done. Zero hunger, energy to spare. I'm a happy mama

No hun I have not ran my tummy was so sore I am still sort of scared to run with my lump, we took a walk last night after dinner and I thought I should run but chickened out, LOL
I might try it soon it is hard to explain, but my tummy is totally numb when I touch it and it feels like it is not attached even though it is attached but that is the wierd feeling, then I have this lump that he keeps draining that is right on my inner groin where I bend so it is still a mess!

I doubt running would be worse than those crazy bootcamp workouts you were doing

I lost yesterday's positive attitude, and was really down on myself today. It really pisses me off that I work so hard and I'm still obese. I know I've had a few slip ups but even my cheats were better than most people eat normally. I don't get it. And I know I shouldn't compare myself to anyone, but I've been running with my sister & SIL who are both skinny and haven't been working out, but they seem to do better than me. My sister started running with me a while back and now I feel like I'm holding her back. I try to remind myself that it takes more effort for me to run - she'd have to be carrying a 50lb sandbag to match the weight I'm lugging around (and SIL is a size 0 - I won't even get into how much she'd have to carry!) but that depresses me even more. I think I'm just having one of those days

So it's day 2 of the fat fast, I don't feel hungry, but I also don't have any extra energy today. I'm feeling pretty lazy actually. Tomorrow will be the last ff day - I can't wait to chomp down on a big steak & poppers! We did another 5k run tonight, but there was a lot of walking today - 45 min total.

Did I mention I got stung by a wasp? On my behind! And it gets better- the wasp left his "behind" behind! Seriously, I sat on a patio chair and sat on a wasp - he got mad and stung me, then when I stood up he flew away, but his stinger was left in the sting. Ouch.

On the business front, things seem to be picking up - we had a previous customer ask us to host a bbq at a local pool for some of his business clients & their families. If it goes well, it may be a monthly thing. The best part is there's virtually no prep, so it's pure profit

Food for today:
B-hb egg, 3 strips bacon
L- tuna w/mayo in celery
D- 2 eggs scrambled in 1T butter
S- 1/4c hwc

1100 cal, 9 net carbs
75%fat, 21%pro, 4% carbs

Oh hun, a stinger in your butt, that is a miserable day! Hun I know how you feel I give up 90% of what most people eat, work out like a freaking nut and weight still clings to me like a magnet, it is frustrating, the worst part is that getting to the destination is damn hard to stay here. But we have to do it and accept we are not one of those darn skinny people that can do whatever they want and not gain.

Yeah on the business front, I dont know how you run in general with so little carbs!

So I have this friend, he is like a friend of a friend, he lost 90 pounds he is ripped rock solid muscle, I often chat with him on Facebook, I saw he did the Spartan Race, I said will you do a mud run with me? He said oh you mean a mud jog with you? I said yes so he said to look for one and he will be my partner so now I have no excuse!

I'm feeling better today. I'm just going to work harder & break through this stall. Even if my weight doesn't move, surely I will build muscle & tone up. I ordered some new workout dvd - I me some Bob, so I got mostly his stuff. Can't wait till I get it! I spray tanned all my ugly bits (tummy, butt, lower back) and it made a big difference. I know no one else sees it, but it makes me feel so much better to not look down & just see ghost-white loose skin & stretch marks. Now at least it's tanned loose skin I'm fighting myself to stay away from the scale until monday's weigh in. On one hand, the fat fast is done tonight and I want to see how much I lost in case it goes up again, BUT if it goes up I may get discouraged...so I probably won't look.

Today was day 3 of fat fast. No real hunger, but I was pretty shaky around dinner time. Exercise was some ab work & zumba tonight. The instructor changed up all the songs/routines and I think she really is trying to kill us! I bet I lost 5lbs of sweat in that hour alone.

Today's food:
B-hb egg, 3 strips bacon
L-2 eggs scrambled in 1T butter
D-tuna & celery
S- jello fluff

1100 cal, 7 net carbs
70%fat, 22%pro, 3%carb

189.6 Going down.....

The weekend flew by, I worked a party yesterday so we were pretty busy with that all weekend. I tend to be bad when I'm busy, but this week I planned ahead and had stuff with me so I wouldn't get too hungry. We took the kids out to the beach for a picnic today, then tonight I went for a run- walked a bit but still made good time (39 min).

Melanie- Running the stands - You're brave lady! If you want to run, I highly reccommend Couch 2 5k. You can even download apps to help you time the intervals.

I've been staying between 187-188 for the past week. I think I'm officially out of the 90s!!! No turning back this time I'm still tracking, just not taking the time to post it here too. I average around 1400 cal, 15-20 net carbs.
Hmmm, what else is new....I got my new Bob workout - Total Transformation - I love it. He totally kicks my butt for the full hour, and it's way better than the shred because there isn't any jumping or any of the stuff that was hurting my running. Oh, plus it's Bob

Oh and one more thing- we're going to Florida/ Disney in Feb with my parents They have a timeshare or something, so it will cost next to nothing And the best part? We'll be there for the Disney Princess Half-Marathon! Eeeek! I have no interest in doing any race, but a DISNEY PRINCESS ONE? Where you get to run through all the Disney parks, with street-side entertainment, in a tiara no less? Heck Yeah!!! It's not 100% yet, we're still trying to work out the details, but my sister & SIL want to do it too. It would be so fun! Just the possibility of doing it has motivated me to run even more.
