My numbers, now that I am losing again, are 700/1800
This is so much more do-able for me. I could not do DDs lower than 700 or I would feel sick and headachy. I am so grateful that I am losing again!

Why don't I see you on the JUDDD threads???

Sorry for not posting but it's been a crazy week. I threw my back out and it turned into really bad sciatica. My doctor gave me this TENS unit that send electric currents to the nerves in my leg. I'm not sure it's working but I'll keep using it. Also some bad family stuff went down that was pretty upsetting but it has nothing to do with me and I'm just praying for everyone involved.

DD and I leave Sunday to go visit my folks in Florida. We go every year but we've always gone in January and the weather is hit or miss. I've always wanted to go in Feb. This year since it has been such a mild winter up north it is even more gorgeous than usual in southwest FL. My mom has been there since New Years and said every day has been in the 80s.

My dad still uses a crappy dial up modem with about 5,000 wires attached to his computer so I will not be going online while I'm there except to check email on my phone. I'll miss my girls but don't worry, I will be back on the 13th. I intend to eat on plan--lots of broiled seafood--and walk every day.

Peace out!

I'm back from vacation. DD and I had a very relaxing time with my parents. The weather was pretty good all week but they live right on the gulf of Mexico and it was very windy most of the time. It didn't stop DD from going in the pool though. I think she is part fish.

My sciatica is still acting up. I haven't been able to exercise at all. This is the longest I ever remember it lasting. The doctor says it can take awhile to go away.

I just did my HB weigh in. I'm up .5, which considering no exercise and 8 days of vacation is not bad at all. So, back on plan today and the fight continues.

I didn't feel like writing in my journal last week. Some sad things have been going on lately--around me, not to me--and I haven't felt like writing anything. I have a good friend who told me once he thinks it's hysterical that I am a professional writer and yet I hate writing most of the time.

I've changed up my eating plan a little bit and the scale is moving again. I'm not sure what I would call my WOE at this point: a JUDDDy, moderate carb, low cal-ish thingymabobb?? It's not any of those things individually but whatever it is, it seems to be keeping me happy for now. I'm not hungry and I'm not fixated on not being able to eat something. It feels like at least a minor accomplishment, so for now I will take it.

We had a nice long weekend and we've managed somehow to avoid illness. Everyone I talk to is sick! My brother's wife and 2 babies all have pneumonia and my sister and her kids all have some sinus/throat thing with raging fevers. DD went to bday party and half the kids couldn't make it because they were sick. It's crazy! My goal for the near future is to avoid all these sickos and stay healthy.

Well, I've been back on straight lc this week and it's been going really good. JUDDD just wasn't working for me. To be honest, the UDs scared me. I was afraid of the amount of calories and the temptation to eat things was just too much. I figured out that I feel safe with lc because I know what to do and I know what to expect. So, I will keep plugging away and doing what I need to do.

Tonight I have to go pick up DDs Girl Scout cookie order. I only ordered a few boxes for her and DH. The rest she will deliver this weekend. Last week this would not have been good for me, but this week I feel much more in control and I know I can handle having those cookies in the house. Where I'm going to put them until she gives them out though is a different story. She sold 87 boxes!

Well, I'm down another half a pound this week and I feel good. The Honey Badger challenge is helping me cuz I know I have to weigh in on Monday and write that number down.

We had a great weekend celebrating two birthdays, including my stepson who turns 18 today. We are the parents of an adult! It's just so hard to believe that he is a grown man. He's such a good kid and we are so proud of him.

At both parties I ate on plan. Saturday night they had pizza so I took two pizza tops and cut them up into a salad with a little italian dressing on top. I also had a glass of wine. It was very filling and I was not tempted by the cake. Then yesterday I had plain chicken breast with carrots with a bottle of water and resisted all the snacks and cake. It felt great to not cheat, even a tiny bit. Usually I would sneak a taste of something here or there but I just did not feel the need to have anything. Such a great feeling!

I know I can keep it up this week, just have to keep going and not let any of my usual roadblocks get in the way.

Thanks Janet! I have even managed to resist the evil Girl Scout cookies lurking in my closet. I've been tempted several times and even swore I heard them calling to me, but I am a nasty Honey Badger!

As a matter of fact, yesterday afternoon I was having a stubborn craving for something sweet, which rarely happens to me on strict lc. So I decided to try one of those 1 minute microwave muffins with my big bag of vanilla whey. I added cocoa powder and it was okay, even had a dense cake-y texture and it really did look like a little muffin, but I only ate half of it and felt full, I guess from the whey. It was fun to try but I don't think I will make a habit of them.

I bought some cinnamon raisin Julian bread the other day and toasted a piece this morning for breakfast. It is so good, I just wish it wasn't so darn expensive!

Amber, I am going to be selling the spawns of Satan on Saturday. I have to take my girls to the post office for a table sale in the morning to try to get rid of the last few dozen boxes that we haven't sold. I'll be glad when cookie season is over. I only like the thin mints too. I keep a box in the freezer. Last year I still had a full sleeve left in August when we lost power and DH was like WTH? Men don't understand.

I have a business trip to Chicago coming up at the end of next week and things at work are crazy so I haven't had much time to pop in here. This week is going well though. I've been on plan and feeling good but I need to get in more exercise. The good thing is I joined a walking project at work. We are grouped in teams of 4 and we all have pedometers and have to report our steps each week. This will be really good for me, especially now that it is so nice out. The goal is for each of us to walk 1,250 miles by October. If we do it we will be entered to win a prize. Last time it was 2 round trip tickets anywhere in the US.

Today is another busy day. I have a corned beef in the crockpot. DD will be so happy. That kid just loves corned beef!

I'm back from my business trip. So glad to be home but I'm exhausted and DH just started at least a month of overtime, which means he doesn't get home till after 9. So, I'm on my own with afterschool activities, diinner, homework and bedtime.

On the trip I ate out every night but mostly stuck with fish and salads. I didn't gain but also didn't get much exercise. My new pedometer came while I was away though. This is the one we are using for our Walk to Work project. It's a 4X Razor and it is so light. I'm looking forward to using it. My personal goal will be 4 miles a day, which is 8,000 steps. I plan on having toned legs for summer.

Thanks Amber. We are working in groups for this pedometer project so I don't want to let anyone down. Good incentive, right? So far this morning between taking DD to school and doing elliptical I am up to almost 3,000 steps.

Day 1 of my pedometer adventures was a success. Total steps: 6,314. That includes elliptical for 20 minutes.

I've decided to switch back to WW points for a while. I have been getting tired of my menu on lc and feel like I need a change. I have no desire to cheat or eat anything bad, just need more variety than what I have been eating lately. I had oatmeal and yogurt yesterday and it didn't set off any kind of crazy cravings. Plus, I think with the renewed commitment to exercise every day I can handle the change and still lose. We'll see...

I saw Carnie Wilson on TV this morning. I just love her. She struggles so much with her weight but never gives up. She said something this morning about how we are all a work in progress. So true. Thanks for putting some much-needed positivity in my day, Carnie!

Indeed I know how she and Oprah must feel being celebrities in the lime light with weight problems, we all work it the best we can! And I really think our makeup is a large part of it, I am never going to be skinny just aint happening at some point we accept what is normal for us!

Super about the steps!!!

Come join the badgers again, they struggle with motivation!

OMG, the last 24 hours have been crazy!

Yesterday afternoon DH asked me to go check on his dad because he wasn't feeling well and wouldn't go to the doctor. I get over there and my FIL is laying on the floor gasping for breath and my MIL (who is a freaking dip on a good day) is just standing there in a panic. I rolled him over and he was blue-purple. Scariest thing I have ever seen in my life. I called 911 and they got there pretty quick. Once he got the oxygen on his color came back but at the ER he didn't know what year it was or who the president was and considering how much he *****es about Obama, I knew something was really wrong. They think he is having kidney failure and he's in ICU. He was dehydrated and is still having trouble breathing so he's still on the oxygen. DH got there and was so shaken up by how sick he looked. I think both my FIL and MIL just are not taking care of themselves at all and it is finally coming to a head. He's 82 and probably should have gone to a doctor a long time ago for this but he hates doctors and she's a doormat and never makes him do anything.

Oh, and here's the best part: I dropped by super-duper work-issued pedometer in the freaking ER toilet!!! I had to fish it out with my hands and then realized it was full of stink-ass toilet water. After drying overnight it started working again though. So now I have to walk around with the eau de toilet pedometer until October.
