Oh please, there is nothing fancy about me! It was fun though. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. Perfect temps and blue sky. We sailed out to the Statue of Liberty and then turned around. Got great shots of the statue and of Governer's Island as well as the Queen Mary 2, which we sailed right by. It is so huge!

Lunch was very lc friendly. I had celery sticks and two huge pieces of buffalo mozzerella for appetizers and then salmon, salad and mixed veggies for lunch. I did have a tiny square of lemon cheesecake and it was delicious. I did a ton of walking around before and after the trip though, so I figured I burned off that cheesecake within about an hour.

After the boat, my boss and I met up with an old colleague. It was so lovely. We sat under an umbrella and had ice tea and just caught up on what was going on with everyone and their families.

Yesterday's food and exercise:
B: 1/2 Atkins bar
L: celery, buffalo mozzerella, salmon, salad, veggies, cheesecake
D: salami, swiss, lc crackers
E: tons of walking around NYC

It was late by the time I got home so I just had a small snack and then went to bed. Such a great day!

Morning Angela! I'm doing pretty good. It was a crazy weekend again with a birthday party on Saturday and the final game of the season for t-ball on Sunday. There was a pizza party after the game and the coach gave the kids certificates and goodie bags. They were an excited bunch! My DD made some excellent throws and got hi-fives from her coach, so she was over the moon.

I was a little bad this weekend with my food, mostly in the form of not eating meals. I snacked too much as a result and ate when I wasn't hungry, which is something I'm trying hard not to do. I don't even remember what I ate yesterday so I'm not posting it. Today is a new day!

Hey Laura- you got the good NYC weather, Saturday was drizzling and depressing but still fun! Oh man, I like to visit for a day or two but I could never live there, do you live in the city?

Weekends have been tough lately for me anyway, a cannoli jumped right down throat, followed by another thug, his buddy cheesecake, LOL

Amber, I live about 50 miles south of the city on the Jersey Shore. I used to commute on a regular basis by bus but now I work from home and go in occasionally for meetings or special events (couldn't pass up the yacht!)

Blech. Feeling down today. I have had leg cramps for the last 24 hours. I'm back to taking my potassium supplements but still feel crappy. Also, my doctor put me back on the water pill because my bp is high again. I hate taking it because I feel like I can't go anywhere or get anything done without always having to run and pee. My mom has had high bp since she was my age and her mom had it too. I'm exercising, eating clean and still my body is fighting me. My weight continues to be stalled, going up and down by 2 pounds. I''m so tired of this and just frustrated in general.

Yesterday's food and exercise:
B: 2 fried eggs with spinach
L: cheese slices, leftover sausage
S: babybell, Atkins granola bar
D: grilled chicken, asparagus, broccoli slaw
E: none

It rained yesterday and I couldn't do my walk, which bummed me out. Then had a crazy day at work and was too tired to get on the elliptical.

Lift me up, friends. I need a boost or a kick in the ass, whichever you prefer.

I have a hug for you. Sorry stuff seem so down right now, everything is cyclical and the upswing is coming! Sometimes you do everything right and yet it seems like it's doing nothing for you, but it is! Just keep at it and things will turn around... they always do!

I think my funk is partially related to being in ketosis. I've been very strict the last few days and I've got the bad breath and stinky pee-pee going on. Also, no appetite whatsoever. I've been walking though and I've also been drinking my water, which is a big issue with me, so I'm proud of myself for that.

Yesterday's food and exercise:
B: HB egg
L: 1 slice swiss, leftover chicken
D: Cheeseburger on lettuce with mayo and mustard
E: 25 minute walk

I think my funk has lifted somewhat. I carbed up a bit more than usual over the weekend and then went right back to lc yesterday. Weight is still the same, no movement whatsoever.

I do have good news though. I've been having blood pressure issues for the last few years and have been on and off medication, including recently when I was put back on the water pill. Well, over the weekend I checked my pressure and it was 120/72. I am so happy! I double checked again yesterday and it's still the same. I really think the walking is what is making all the difference for me. I go back to the doctor next month for my recheck and I'm sure she is going to be happy.

Hi Laura! Hurray for the great blood pressure! I need to get back into my walking habit. Why is it that missing one stinking day puts everything all out of whack for me? Hope you are having a great day!

I'm back from my mini staycation. I took off most of last week for DD's last day of school and getting her ready for summer camp. She goes to a day camp nearby and absolutely loves it. This is her fourth year and she has a whole set of camp friends that she hangs with there.

I'm also back to my walking. I didn't do it at all last week but today I was back on the soccer loop. Yesterday DH and I walked on the beach for about half an hour and my calves were killing me this morning but I walked anyway. Yay me!

Still low carb, still struggling with the scale. Oh well, hope everyone has a great day!

As Bruce Springsteen says, "I'm going, down, down, down." I started this week up a few pounds and feeling like crap but I'm down 4.6 pounds from Sunday. I've been sticking with eggs, a little chicken breast with mayo for lunch and a little meat and salad for dinner. I haven't even had a piece of an Atkins bar this week because I'm trying to be as strict as possible. But, I am fighting this uphill battle and I am winning--slowly, but I'm winning.

This morning I walked and it was gorgeous outside! The park where I walk was setting up for a fair and there were ferris wheels and bouncy castles being put up. We will take DD over there on Sunday.

Work is so busy right now with people out on vacation. I've been so exhausted every night this week I can barely stay awake until 10. Hopefully I can catch up on some sleep this weekend. 3 days off!

Have a great weekend all!!

It's hard to even put into words what has happened in the last 24 hours. Last night I held my 15-year old stepson, on his birthday, as he cried and asked me why his mother left him. Earlier in the day, she left a note saying she was going to Florida. Nothing else. She has done this before but it's always scary because we don't know what she plans to do. She's a big druggie and has been in rehab more times than I could possibly count. Sometimes she goes to rehab, sometimes she just disappears and then reappears weeks later like nothing happened. I've been there for these children for 10 years now. Holding them. Telling them she will be okay. Telling them not to worry, it will work out. I'm so tired. I'm not a hateful person, but I can't take much more of this. The pain she causes them is so awful. She's not a mother. A mother would not do this.

I'm just here to vent. My life will go on and I will support these children the best I can. I'm just so tired and so sad tonight.

Laura- that is horrible, I cant imagine ever leaving my son, but drugs are a bad thing, and I am glad these kids have you and your husband in their life. Be there for the kids hard as it is they need you so much, but I know it is not like their real Mom that they probably love in spite of her poor parenting. Just what you needed right? More stress!!!
