It is so crazy to see us all lamenting about eating fruit isnt it? It is so hard to think all these delicious berries and watermelon are bad for us, oh well we are all in this together!!!

Recital sounds fun!!!!!!! You will have to post a pic of her!!!

Great day yesterday. I definitely redeemed myself after a few days of bad eating. I'm not ready to get back to my walking yet because I still have the dreaded cough so I will probably wait and start back again on Monday.

Yesterday I ate:
B: scrambled eggs with cheese
S: 1/2 Atkins granola bar
L: a few slices of turkey, celery, babybell
D: crockpot chicken and salad with goat cheese and almonds
E: hand weights for 10 minutes

I'm doing crockpot meals all week since this is what they call 'tech week' at my daughter's dance school. Recital is this weekend so all week we have rehearsals and various running around to do. The recital itself is always great but the weeks leading up to it are stressful and I can't wait for it to be over!

I'm not ready for full on exercise either, Laura-- still have that freaking cough, too, just enough to be annoying and have everyone around me scoot away.

I'll start back next week. What's the hurry, right? LOL

OMG, I am so stressed about this dance recital. There are so many freaking details and costume changes. Yesterday they told me she can't have pink ballet shoes, they have to be white. This was after I asked *weeks* ago and they said yes it was fine. So there I was on the computer ordering from Zappos at 8 pm last night. They better be here by tomorrow night or I am screwed. I wish I could be one of those laid back moms who doesn't care but it's not in my nature.

Yesterday I ate:
B: 2 fried eggs, bacon
L: leftover crockpot chicken
S: Babybell, 1/2 Atkins granola bar
D: pulled pork topped with cheddar and sour cream
1 glass wine

Despite what I said yesterday, I got my fat butt out there this morning and did one loop on the track with minimal coughing. There is a very sad and stressful situation going on in my immediate family and I thought the walk would do me good--and indeed it did. It was cool and beautiful out there and I continued listening to "The Distant Hours" by Kate Morton on my ipod.

One thing that has come out of this horrible family situation in the last few days is a renewed love for my husband. Not that I didn't feel this way before, it's just that when the chips are down he is incredibly supportive and I seriously don't know what I did to deserve him. He has held me up in the last few days and stood beside members of my family in a way that makes me so proud. Anyhoo, feeling incredibly sad today but moving on.

Thank you, Amber! You are so sweet. I friended Laura and then saw you and Ang. Yes, that's my mom. She is gorgeous. When I was little everyone used say she looked like Doris Day.

Yesterday I ate:
B: egg microwaved in a mug with cheese and chives, 2 slices bacon
S: ˝ Atkins granola bar
L: leftover pulled pork, broccoli, and cauliflower, with cheese and sour cream
S: 1/2 Atkins coconut bar
D: Eggplant and zucchini lasagna, salad

I used the Dreamfields lasagna noodles and made this in the crockpot. It turned out good and even my husband thought it was delicious. Something about the crockpot makes the ricotta kind of weird though. I noticed this last time too. It was just a little spongy. Maybe it cooked too long? I’ve been eating Dreamfields about every other week and haven’t noticed any problems with it or with weight loss. I was the same this morning as I was yesterday and I ate a pretty good portion.

First recital is tonight! I will have pics up on my FB tonight for sure. Then we have matinee tomorrow. Tomorrow is also my DH’s birthday and he gets to sit through a 3+ hour dance show and then go work an overnight shift. Poor guy. We will celebrate his birthday next weekend when things are less hectic. I’ll get him some ribs and beer and he’ll put on his grilling apron and be in heaven.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good luck tonight, is she nervous? Dreamfields doesnt effect me unless I eat like 1/2 box, LOL Which is easy to do, so portion control is key! Ribs and beer sounds good!!!!!

You are doing great, Laura! Kids are so precious when performing like that. My son was just in "The Three Piggy Opera" at school and it was just so darn cute I thought my heart would explode. (Those pics are on Facebook, BTW-- thanks for friending me!)

I agree with Amber-- Change your avatar photo right away! You look so much younger in your other photos.

Have a good time at the recital!

It was a crazy, whirlwind weekend with dance recital on Friday night and again Saturday afternoon. DH had to work overnight Friday and Saturday, plus Saturday was his birthday. I managed to at least have a cake for him Saturday night before he left for work. All in all though, not the kind of weekend I prefer.

I ate out twice but managed to stay on plan for the most part. I stuck with an omelette the one day and a burger with no bun the next.

Yesterday I ate:
B: Atkins bar, HB egg
L: turkey with avocado and swiss on a lc wrap, celery sticks
S: cashews, 1/2 Atkins granola bar
D: Burger with onions, lettuce, cheese, mayo, grilled eggplant and asparagus

Today I'm actually glad to be back at work. At least it's not as crazy as the weekend!

The recital was great. I was just telling someone yesterday that one of the highlights for me was seeing my DD concentrating on her footwork and being really serious. Last year she was sooo nervous on stage and kept forgetting which way to turn. This year was a completely different story and I was so proud of her because I never took dance or anything myself and I was a shy kid. I can't imagine getting up on a big stage when I was 5 or 6 and dancing in 3 numbers with costume, shoe and hair changes. Bravo to my baby!

Yesterday was a good day. I was back on the lc wagon in full force.

B: 2 HB eggs, 1/2 piece Julian bread with cream cheese
S: 2 slices swiss cheese
L: Salami with avocado and lettuce on a lc wrap
S: celery with cream cheese
D: chicken crockpot slop (grilled chicken strips, alfredo sauce, diced tomato, black beans and cheese)

I was in a hurry last night and threw some crap in the crockpot and it turned out great. I had mine over broccoli/cauliflower mix and gave DH and DD theirs over wild rice. Both of them raved about how good it was. I used about 1/2 jar of the alfredo sauce and added water to it and it was really good.

Well, back to work. The boss is out today but work continues. Have a great day!

Laura- so glad the recital went well, it is amazing to see them mature and become so focused on something, I think it is great for kids to find a passion and pursue it!

Yum now you are getting like Angela, Crock pot slop, LOL Sounds good

It's hump day. Two more days until my company's summer party. We are going out on a yacht in Manhattan for a fancy shmancy luncheon. I'm still trying to decide what to wear since I'm not exactly Lovey Howell and don't have a trunk full of yachting wear. I don't see my co-workers too often since I work from home but I like hanging out with most of them so it will be a fun day.

Yesterday I ate:
B: 1 HB egg
L: leftover crockpot slop with broccoli slaw
S: salami slices and swiss cheese, Atkins granola bar
D: shrimp, 1.5 cheeseburgers on lettuce with homemade dressing and pickles
E: 20 minutes of walking

I've walked every day this week around the loop at the soccer track. Today I even found a new path that makes my walk slightly longer so I can do that on certain days when I have enough time. So far, I'm doing 20 minutes. This morning it was already 82 degees at 8:30.

Well, I've got a whole chicken in the crockpot with some rosemary from my garden stuffed up it and the house smells divine!

You will look lovely and sounds like a wonderful day! I am so jealous of you and Amber tooling around NYC for the day! How chic!

Thanks girls. I've decided on black dressy shorts, a white ruffled peasant top and black flats. Tomorrow is going to be fun!

Amber, I could never be as outgoing as you. You rock! If I ever showed up dressed like JLO I think my co-workers would have heart attacks. Which actually would be okay since most of them are cardiologists and could just treat each other!

The heat is still oppressive but I still did my walk this morning. It was so funny, I pull up and there is no one at the park except a maintenance guy and he just looked at me like lady you are nuts! I was a hot mess by the end of my loop but I did it.

Yesterday's food and exercise:
B: 2 fried eggs, 1 slice bacon
L: leftover cheeseburger on lettuce with mayo and mustard
S: Atkins granola bar, swiss cheese
D: crockpot chicken and green bean salad
E: 25 minute walk

I'll probably check back in tomorrow night after my yachting adventure--Ahoy!
