Laura- sounds like she is doing well, the school lunches are so ridiculous and why must they sell extra junk food? That is what I hate, they sell ice cream and candy and all that on top of the junky lunches.

Today went a little better with dropping DD off at school. They have a new entrance and last week she ended up crying the second day of school because she went in the new way and couldn't find her classroom. Then when I picked her up on Friday she had stayed behind to ask the art teacher a question and got lost trying to find the new exit. I almost ran some parents down trying to get through the door to find her, but I did and she was fine. Poor baby. It's not like they did new construction or anything, they just changed the way they go into and out of the building but it's confusing!

I know I haven't been posting much but I have been doing my exercise. In fact, I have done my elliptical every day for the last week. Yay me! I have to keep it up. I have 6 weeks until my company's annual meeting in Miami and I need to be in shape and ready to run around like a fool.

23 minutes on the elliptical today--15 minutes at level 5-6, 8 minutes level 4. Woot!

How is DD and rest of the family doing with less junk in the house?

DD complained a little last night about not being allowed to buy lunch at school like she used to but we made a deal that I make her lunch Mon-Thu and she can buy pizza on Friday. I think that's fair. She seems perfectly happy with the fruit and popcorn that I give her for snacks at school and then she has yogurt or cheese and fruit when she comes home. I haven't weighed her but I think she has taken off some of the summer camp bloat.

That's a good deal!!! The fact that her eating habits have improved are awesome! Since healthy eating is the focus not weighing her is great! Good Ole Dad was a great help with the support!

Here's my thought for myself today that I feel like sharing--If you only buy good food, you can only eat good food. That is what I'm trying to live by at the moment.

I took a break from working out this weekend because I was truly tired. Between a heavy workload at my job lately and working out on the elliptical for 7 days in a row I needed a little break. But today it's back to business. My legs and butt feel tighter and my clothes are definitely fitting better so that is some great motivation right there!

We all need a break!!! Awesome thought of the day!!! THAT IS SO TRUE!!! I think I will go home and make some chicken salad!!! I may seprate somoe clothes tonight as excercise! Hope your day was great!!!

Only 15 minutes on the elliptical yesterday at level 5 because I had to work late and then DD was getting dropped off and I had to talk to the mom. But, any workout is a good workout for me, considering my formerly couch potato status. I'm committed though. Elliptical or bust!!

Last night DH told me he thought I looked smaller. I think he's just fishing for some nookie, but it was still nice to hear.

I didn't get my elliptical in yesterday but I did get a nice long walk because DD had a friend over and I had to walk her home. So, I'm still batting 1000 this week on the exercise! This weekend we are going to visit my SIL and walk around NYC so that should put some mileage on the old pedometer.

So we took DD to American Girl in NYC this weekend. OMG, it was awesome. I was as excited as she was. Four floors of dolls, clothes, books, DVDS...just WOW! We picked up some clothes for her doll and visited the hair salon. DD wanted to get her doll's hair cut short like hers but it turns out they won't cut hair, so she had it washed and braided and was really happy with it. Afterward we went to an Irish pub for lunch and I had a Guinness. Haven't had one since we were on our honeymoon in Ireland 9 years ago. Man, it was so good!

Funny story...y'all know I am still doing the pedometer project for work. On our drive home from NY the pedometer was scratching me so I put it in the cupholder and forgot about it. Well, when I remember and got it out of the car this morning it had registered 31,509 steps during the ride. My team is gonna love me this week!

Sounds like a fun weekend, when we go up there over Christmas I know the line outside of there is down the block and I see all these kids carrying their bags! I want an American Doll, none of my nieces are into dolls,it sucks!
